yeah your comments ok but if you actually look into it this is the most common reason for accidents, its when the mind goes into its own and altho your looking ahead your mind isnt registering it until its to late. It happens when you have been driving for hours on end and nothing changes, your mind wonders into a state of thought, whats happening later, what happened the other day etc, the people arnt stupid its just a natural thing and happens to anyone even the most sophisticated of people.

oh don't get me wrong it happened to me when I borrowed my dad's cadillac.A combination of using cruise control,driving on a mostly straight highway with little traffic,listening to calm relaxing music,and driving a car that completely isolates you from the road put me into one of those states of thought.I almost went off the road (thank god for rumble strips).

When i drive long distances I always get good sleep the night before, i drive as little as possible at night, i listen to loud music, and I stop every 1 1/2 to 2 hours to get something to eat, walk around, and take a nap (if needed), and, most importantly, I'm very self-aware when i drive so I recognise when my mind starts to wonder so I can avoid accidents like this.

well that's good to know my personal preference is what's recommended. I've never been told how long you should drive before stopping for a rest. It was never even taught in drivers ed but it really should be. it's good that it's at least being taught in other areas.
