  • Oh, what a wonderful video! Off the top of my head, I spotted Jean Harlow, Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Thelma Todd, Ginger Rogers (I thought I saw her briefly), and William Powell. I also thought I spotted Mary Astor, but I'm not entirely sure. I enjoyed watching Thelma Todd being dragged onto to the dance floor at 4:50. She was good at that comedic stuff!

  • @MissCodswallop Congrats! You did great guessing the old movie stars at the Grove! You are a true classic movie fan! You are right on all but one. An excellant score! If you click above on the "show more", in my description, it will give all the stars names. Thanks for watching and guessing!

  • @2reeler Well thanks! Wow, I didn't even click on the "show more". I usually do that! Well I was raised with the classics and I love black and white films. I'd actually love to be a film historian some day!

  • @MissCodswallop Oh, and I didn't spot Kay Francis the first time. I think she was one of the most elegant actresses I've ever seen. I've only seen her in two films so far (The Cocoanuts and Trouble in Paradise). It was great seeing her with The Marx Brothers. They're my favorite!

  • Nice vid. It's nice to see actors and listen to music from one of my favorite time periods in history. Particularly like the colored part - it's nice to see how Clark Gable and Robert Montgomery may have looked in real life.

  • wow!!! what wonderful history!!!

  • You'v certainly got the 'touch' this is my kinda stuff. thanks

  • Max Raabe did a ripping version of this in the movie, "The Invincible". It's simply Heaven on a stick!

  • @SuspiciouslyDLicious I imagine so! He has a very Hollywood 30s sound! thanks!

  • "You Don't Need Glasses To See I'm In Love." Great song title.

  • Great editing!

  • I think Gus wrote this one.......

  • Love the music, and the video is great, the music and the vintage clips compliment each other to perfection. Great post.

  • @maynardcat Thank you very much. Glad you liked it. Gus Arnheim and the Grove were such a vital part of Hollywood's story!

  • Oh! This one is SUPER AWESOME!!! I see at least several of My favorit movies here, such as "Red Headed Woman" 2:16. The music is to die for!

  • Clark Gable and his wife HAGATHA!

  • @cristpthomas You are so funny! And so right! I couldn't say it better! What the heck did he ever see in her?? lol
