  • I go to this school :)

  • This is nothing but prudent and sound planning for the future.

  • Can't wait to get my CCW and license, maybe the criminals will start thinking twice about raping, murdering, robbing and assaulting. Or maybe they just won't get the chance to become repeat offenders. ; ) Goodnight.

  • This is a great step forward in school safety, and I really wish this were happening in all the other states too.

  • Are you originally from New York? I can hear a north eastern accent. maybe I'm going crazy though. great videos.

  • @Stonyman65 - Thank you and you are correct. I spent my first 30 years in Brooklyn, New York, and the last 30 years in Texas.

  • only stupid people from Texas think Ideas like this. Lets be honest Texas is full of WHITE STUPID IGNORANT MAGGOTS WHO THINK like STUPIDS!!!!!!!!!!

  • @whtisrcowards dude, I'm a Japanese American and I live in Fort Worth, Texas. I fully support this measure and am proud that somebody is finally taking a real stand against school shootings. Please keep your racist attitude out of the argument.

  • @whtisrcowards - Only stupid people who do not live in Texas think it is a bad idea. Also only stupid people leave racist comments.

  • so are you for it or what

  • I am in favor of allowing teachers in Texas who have a license to carry a concealed weapon to be able to carry a weapon in school in this situation.

  • cool man cool

  • lol "joynalist"...great dialect

  • It'd be cool if your teacher was a badass like dirty harry.

  • hahaha, the teacher carry pistol, but students will carry Machine guns.

  • As a teacher, it is my sacred duty to protect my students from harm. "Gun-Free" zones do nothing but ensure the safety of psycho shooters while they are murdering kids.

  • I carry a gun because I cant carry a COP! TEXAS!

  • lol...that's awesome.

  • Fuck concealed carry. That should require a easily obtained permit. But lets talk about open carry. Open is the way to go. If you have both then the criminals are really on the run. I say anywhere but where alcohol is served.

  • @DobermansRock I say even where alcohol is served but not if you plan on getting drunk. Also, I have to ask a real important ? here.

Is there a reason that we expect to be able to send a man to jail for 20 years and have him come out rehabillitated? I suggest that we only put violent criminals in jail, and only for terms less than a year. If a man commits a really violent act, like rape of a minor or murder we should just put them straight on death row. Would you want that man as ur neighbor

  • @dlstb Brother we are speaking the same language. No argument from me. I carry all the time and feel I am responsible for my actions. Simple plan that seems to work well.

As for prison. Man I have a ton of feelings there. Terms are too long, too many people in for non-violent crime, it makes a good person bad and a bad criminal even better. Death penalty should be very surgical so only the guilty are punished. Eye for an Eye..

  • @DobermansRock I agree, we should ALWAYS allow the individual the due process of law that is guaranteed by the Constitution and our individual conscience's before we take anyone's rights or property. That includes the right to life. I don't equate it to eye for an eye because the words after that are "vengence shall be mine, sayeth the Lord.", but we have the need to ensure our safety from physically violent people. In my mind, none of us should have to live with the fear of violence day to day

  • @dlstb Look up a nation of cowards. It details the crime an individual commits if he allows another to take his life without action. It boils down to suicide which is also a sin. So for a law abiding citizen to carry open or concealed. I have zero problem with it.

An armed society is a polite and friendly society. Good day and keep em in the ten ring.

  • i grew up very close to the area and it may be needed. i currently attend a public tech school in oklahoma. and looking at our security guards. i wish i could carry a fire arm at school

  • Remember, Columbine had a security guard, He was the first one targeted, and he ran away. I would love to hear the people who don't like this to tell me how they would protect the children. The vast majority of the deaths at Virginia-Tech occurred AFTER the police were on scene. They had metal detectors at the Capitol shooting in 1998, the shooter walked right up and killed the guard and walked right in. Why is refusal to allow this to happen again a bad thing???????

    I really do not understand.

  • They are liberals, that is all you need to understand. Liberals love telling other people how to live.

  • I am from the government and I am here to help. LOL

Government is not the solution to our problem, government IS the problem.

    Spoken by my HERO

  • wait a minute, aren't you doing the same thing?? and before you go calling me a "liberal"...I am a responsible gun owner and DO understand where you are coming from, but you are just the other side of the coin....no better or worse than the "liberals"...stop labeling people and get a grip (on life not your .44mag)...

  • Dissidents are a dozen pro-American scum earning money on selling what they've got to sell, namely, as long as CIA needs them. They are not an interference - noone listens to them. Chechens were greatly surprised when they heard McCain trying to free them from Russia. :)

  • No, it didn't, Gymnast. We just have changed. Your, as it were, allies are only formally yours, as long as you waste the money of your stupid taxpayers on them. It's not much and being with Russia is more profitable. You are loosing this game, you just don't want to admit it. Even Georgia will soon restore relations with Russia, because without us they will loose their state completely.

  • I don't have a gun, Gymnast, I don't need it.

  • Put the educators' mind and effort into unnecessary field. Educators shall put their mind in education not into a primitive way mankind protection.

    This trend goes wrong direction.

The beginning of logical thinking starts in wrong subjective start will lead to wrong result. USA is not a third developed country in lifestyle but society becomes a barbarian third world.

  • But who will protect the school mom?

  • Your question is profound because the logical approach is an such objective.

If you are talking the beginning of the logical approach, I would say the parents. The parents must educate their kids "No is no" till you, your kids and the society understand what is the importance in your society. Can not avoid the second amendments rights to own firearms,,, but this is not a same issue.

The school is the place for education and their future not the place for the barbarian battle place.

  • I bet you live in a blue state?

  • Then USSR was a blue state, after all...

  • "If everybody doesn't have a weapon, how are the police going to know who the bad guy is?"(USAGymnast)

Easy. The bad guy will have horns on his forehead and a red pointy tail. LOL !

  • Anything can be a weapon.

  • If the bad guy comes to my house, he will be the one with the most bullet holes.

  • While a school admin may allow individual teachers to carry for personal protection, they cannot authorize licensed carry in a hired, armed employee in a protective capacity. Look this up...technically, the school district would need to become licensed by the TXDPS-PSB as a Commissioned Security Company and then carefully select a willing teachers to become trained as PPO officers. It could work, but sounds kinda funny, huh? Thanks, RT 11 yr. TxCHL instructor, fmr. Comm. Sec. Instructor

  • This guy is a little too goofy concerning this matter.

  • Take prayer out of schools and replace that with guns. Insanity!

  • Yep, fascism is on the go.... If you call this Democracy then your Democracy is inhumane... Some powers are breeding orks out of Americans. Is there noone left to think about it?

  • i think this is a very irresponsible decision to allow guns in schools at all...

  • Would it be responsible if a security guard or a sheriff in the school were allowed to carry a gun?

  • metal detectors, etc...no guns...sheriff of course...

  • So it is okay for a sheriff to carry a weapon in a school, but not for a teacher? May I ask the difference?

  • A teacher is not an authority, keeping order is not his job. A teacher's job is to teach.

  • Well put schetin.

  • I've been in the faculty for more than 25 years and never ever have I had an occasion, when I would have needed a weapon more deadly than a piece of chalk. There's something very wrong with the American system of education.

  • schetin: Have you participated in the American system of educaiton?

  • I discussed it a lot with your teachers. I'm squarely on the line with your whole system. I'm for the Russian, or Soviet, one. There's the drastic difference, you know: your system is based on selecting gifted, or system is based on collecting all to be gifted. You choose a perl in the mud, we make that perl out of mud. That's why our kids become brilliant in US and poor again back in Russia.

  • So in other words you have not participated in the American educaitonal system, and yet you want to tell us how to run one very small school district in a remote part of Texas. That is so European of you.

  • Just like Americans trying to teach other nations is so American...

  • schetin: Are your wires crossed? Who is trying to tell whom how to live? You are in Canada trying to tell us in Texas, USA we should not allow guns in our schools. Sounds like to me, you are the one "trying to teach other nations," hey.

  • Didnt the school board pay any attention to what happened @ columbine what if a kid decides to take a gun and shoot up the place thats why you hire more school security guards

  • a police officer is throughly trained in the use of a weapon. Teachers do not qualify even with a short class as throughly trained in my eyes. There is nothing wrong with us having a difference of opinion on the subject..i just will never agree that school teachers should carry weapons in school...

  • ncweb76: Then I guess it is a good think you do not live in Harrold, Texas.

  • yes....

  • "But unlike you, I'm not afraid to use a gun or any other weapon possible if that situation ever occurred."(USAGymnast)

You are talking like a nerd.

What you should be afraid of, is using your gun at the wrong moment.

I have a gun and am not the least afraid to use it when the time is right. The only thing that can make you afraid is not knowing when or how to use it.

Using it at the right moment should not make you afraid.

  • Amen!

  • This guy is funny lol.

  • He who wears a gun should bear at least a double responsibility for whatever shit he is involved in.

  • Surrender to criminals ?

I am 52 years old and never met anyone pointing a gun at me, nor any of my friends or familly have.

From what I see on USA tv chanels (though now I rarely whatch tv) I suspect them to be responsible for the "paranoïa".

Unless you live in center of big city with ghettos and stuff. But who wants to raise kids in such a place ?

  • "It is not against our children, it is to protect our children."(Propagandabuster)

Maybe I misunderstoud. You said that it was the teachers that wanted to bear arms.

If it is to protect the young, then let the young bear the arms !

  • So now you want the children to be armed?

  • "So now you want the children to be armed?"(Propagandabuster)

I would never let my kids go to a school in wich the teachers carry weapons.

No weapons are alowed in school over here. Only police.

Teachers are no police and are as human as everybody else. They can kill just like any other. That's why I said that if the teachers bear arms, then let the student protect themselves from the teachers.

  • Acabramzack: Apparently you think the police are not humans and are not capable of making mistakes. Is that how it is in Canada, you now have robo-cops? Does the governor of California know about that?

  • How would a police make a mistake in a school where no one is supposed to bear arms ? It is the best way to not make mistake, because the only other one with a weapon is logicaly the criminal !

If every body has a weapon, how police gona know who is the bad guy ?

  • "Yes, the constitution which allows all of us to be armed."(Propagandabuster)

    Absolutely.

But not against your own, and certainly not against your kids !

  • It is not against our children, it is to protect our children. How come you are finding that difficult to understand?

  • "If you only had two gun incidents in 100 years, why then do you need guards in your schools?"(Propagandabuster)

To protect the kids, not the teachers. There are rapists, mad people, in Quebec, just like everywhere else. Also to protect kids from other kids who forms gangs and experiment with power control, politics, group control, etc... Normal stuff. Some will be chiefs, some will be followers, some will be creators, etc... Normal stuff. Violence is normal but controlable.

  • "It's always society's fault or anybody else except the criminal's fault that they committed the crime in the first place."(USAGymnast)

I realy think that USA is a great society concept. Certainly one of the greatest. It canot be USA society's fault and "anybody else" is out of that society. Criminals are in every society but are minimal and should not require arming of the majority. Are you sure you are still the USA of the constitution ?

  • Yes, the constitution which allows all of us to be armed.

  • "You got it all wrong. The guns at the school is to protect the students from those who are not students and want to cause harm to the school."(Propagandabuster)

All schools have good security guards here, that knows the kids. A stranger is quickly identified.

  • If you only had two gun incidents in 100 years, why then do you need guards in your schools?

  • "I know it must be hard for you to accept the fact that civilians have the right to bear arms."(USAGymnast)

I understand that perfectly. I live in a small town in Quebec (Canada) and we all have arms in our houses, for protection but mostly for hunting.

But never would anyone here bring a gun in a school, unless he (or she) was mad. It did happen twice in 100 years. We wont change our way of life for that.

  • There is something very wrong about a society that is so afraid of its kids that it feels the need to arm itself against them.

Just the idea sent to the kids minds and subconscious that society is taking "preventive" action to protect itself against them is quite disturbing.

If there is anyone in the world you should trust and share trust, it's your kids.

  • You got it all wrong. The guns at the school is to protect the students from those who are not students and want to cause harm to the school.

  • In my opinion it only makes sense to allow anybody with a concealed carry permit to carry at schools or Universities just as they carry anywhere else. I also believe that the idea of carry permits is unconstitutional since the 2nd amendment gives us the right to keep and BEAR arms.

  • Texas is the best state, you know.

  • Those schools would be more secure than this campus. We have university security driving by every 10 mins but I doubt they'd be able to do anything when need be...

  • Are those security guards unarmed?

  • Pepper spray at most. Tasers just got their entry into the police force for special arrest teams a few days ago. Not even every police officer carries a gun; trainees and patrol officers lack one. I've only seen a patrol car of the actual police department here once (yesterday) when they seemed to be lost. I think the police on bikes is more armed than the security guards.

  • That is so funny, but so sad.

  • Looks funny now, but if some idiot would actually find a way to bring in a gun the security would be ordered to retreat and call in an intervention team from the police. By the time they arive... We have several buildings but most are connected. There are 29000 students packed together. A crisis like that did pass my mind a few times and so far I don't believe the university would be able to cope with such an issue at hand. Rather creepy thought.

  • Guess you don't know in Utah students can conceal carry on any Campus in the State.

  • This nation has a very strict policy regarding guns. In the US such conceal carry policy might work but I doubt it would work here. I wish they had some alternative system in place.

(I do wonder where I got that minus from. Insulted anyone with my worries? :S )

  • ... would come to the school and beat them to death! So what do you think is going to happen now that teachers have guns? I guarantee you that the first time one of these teacher's guns is fired it will be at a student (most likely black) who talks back to them or who they just plain old dislike. I'm not asking you; I'm telling you. You heard it here first people.

  • I went to school during a time when corporal punishment was still allowed. The strange thing about corporal punishment in school was that the really vicious, disruptive kids were never "caned". It was always the good kids who lost their tempers once or a kid that for some weird reason a teacher took a personal dislike to that got caned. The reason for this was that violent students always come from violent homes with violent parents and the teachers new if they punished these kids their parents

  • Prop - Here in Los Angeles (some parts) the teachers need pistols, rifles, submachine guns, body armor, tear gas, battering rams, baseball bats, and an armored personell carrier. Oh, and heavy air support.

  • LOL I know exactly what you mean.

  • do your homework or else!!!!

  • You know what would be easier - Automated security.

They'd try to go in with guns or knives but the metal detectors would just lock them out.

It's much safer that having kids caught in the cross fire.

  • yea you can have the thing from half life 2 that conficates weapons and destroys them...

  • About dam time, i applaud this school board. Although some might find it extreme, i think its about time they did something about those dam school shootings.

I mean am i the only one sick and tired of hearing American school shootings?, now if the teachers got a gone forget about some crazy ex/current student coming to school to shoot it up, forget about the 30 something deaths. Crazy motherfuckers would think twice to commit there crazy murder suicide in schools.

  • thats the way it should be everywhere! lol. God i love America! lol!

what say u to that PB? lol.

  • Of course I agree. If one passes a background check, attends some classes, then by all means carrying a gun should be permitted. However right now that is a issue for each state to address.

  • "that is a issue for each state to address"

--Prop, I've always wondered about that. Well, not really always. I used to be a Liberal. But I digress. Why is it that states & cities can heavily regulate the 2nd Amendment, but not the 1st Amendment?

  • NoGuff: I guess you have a good point there.

  • texas' carry permit is one of the most difficult permit to carry of all the carry permits. still not too hard to get but just wanted to bring that up.

  • What if???
