  • first one is amazing.. which one is it ? any full version ?

  • is this 88 key version

  • Great!! I like these sounds!!! That's really awesome. Cut u tell me the titlename of the song please, it starts at 1:18!!!?? In the case that your are the creator of that theme, so could you add an sequel!!?? thx

  • Eu quero um MOTIF! Eu quero!

  • Neverending story arpeggiator?

  • why didn't you buy psr or tyros if you like automat play?

  • After seeing this, i decided i MUST get a motif! it is way better than Korg Triton i guess.

Do you have any idea if there is a difference between Motif XS8 and XS6 other than the number of keys? i mean ,do they both have the same options & voices?

  • @thegenius204 For the motif xs 6 ,7 and 8 everything is the same , it's just about the amount of keys you want and if you want them weighted (8) or synth action (6&7).

  • Звуки просто волшебны !

    Синт тоже )

  • Хорошая демка без лишних слов.

  • Great demo! I was looking for a Korg M50, but this Motif XS sound superb. I also listend to your Trance tracks. Because Trance is what I'm going to use it for. Which one would you recommend?

  • @CassanovaSeven Only Motif! М50 даже не вздумай, запаришься!

  • exxcellent A CLASS quality!!

  • Man..I wish I could have one.You re a lucky guy. just wtf are these ppl talkin bout XS series not worth 3k? Hell yeah its worth3k! It has so many USEFULL features and superb sounds.KORG OASYS is a good keyboard but not a usefull one.I mean.. Wave sequencing? wtf am i suposed to do with that?KARMA?Who cares about KARMA and changing the swings and the filters of rhythm patches in real time!

We need arps, synth sounds, good pianos and stuff, not some remakes of 80s synth engines that will cost 8K!

  • The power of MOTIF XS!

    The audio for your production.

  • motif xs is a good keyboard...but it lacks in the low mid and low areas compared to other synths that give a 'bigger' sound like the korg m3 or roland fantom g and softwares like reason, rapture.

  • I disagree with you, you had the opportunity to compare directly the M3, XS and Fantom? No? but I was!

  • dude, i own fantom g, motifxs, and korg m3 plus a bunch of softwares.

motif xs is really good for mid mid high and high frequencies...guitars, sax, etc. but for rich synthetic sounds, i would go with m3/fantom g.

  • @RUSbells *claps very loud in tears of joy* GO RUSBELLS GO RUSBELLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @lavakava Yes, my coment is the same as RUSbells, even with a Triton the sound of motif is fater bigger and cristal clear

  • @lavakava rapture really sucks, it lacks dynamics.. go use omnisphere or trilian then you got on of the best "software" quality plugins

  • @lavakava The Motif XS is very much better then the Fantom G. Sorry for bad English.

  • Hi there

Nice demo - just wondering what is the synth/pad song @ 1:56 after Moby's Porcelain song.

Thanks and keep up the great music

  • Firstly there is not mobi - Porcelain, it's my own theme. And after 1:56 played Mike Oldfield Tres Lunas album theme Viper

  • @RUSbells: your theme at 1:20 was my favorite part. Good job!

  • Nice demo. Thanks. Also, I can't believe that anyone would get all bent out of shape over which keyboard is better than another. It's just not that important. If electricity was never harnessed we would all still be playing acoustic pianos and believe me, the world would get along just fine without electronic keyboards. There are many more important things to get upset about in the world than keyboards.

  • Oh ya?

    Like what?

  • What do think about dynamics in Motif XS?

  • They are the most expressive dynamics I've come across on a keyboard.Especially for the piano and guitar sounds.

  • OK. Thanks Jack!

  • @petermakie

hello, saw your question right now, a little late for answering. I use an xs 8, i like it very much. a great instrument. but dynamics ??? YES and NO! like someone other answered the dynamics are ok with guitar and piano. but on orchesters, strings, brass they didn´t succeed. I also know the kurzweil pc 3 and korg m3. there are lots of more dynamical recources, specilally with the kurzweil on orchesters/strings/brasses.

but i don´t care that much. i use 2 keyboards live.

  • Thanks Виталий for your usefull comment.

  • like your playing! :D even though i play tyros 3,

    and verry different music.

  • That ugly, coarse synthesizer sounds ...

  • i have the 7! its so awesome.

  • Is this still the latest model of yamaha out there? I want to get one!

  • n 10 days I shall have this. I can't wait.

  • @jlc7300 the latest model now is the XF which is now all black, no more silver

  • Ричё так, зачётно, со многих записей я понял, для чего нужны гладильные доски... у меня тоже стоит, ждёт своего мотифчика, молодец что взял инструмент, я себе тоже возьму, как только заработаю деньги...

  • go home

  • It's great that there are a variety of keyboards available for everybody's tastes, I love the Yamaha motif XS 8. I use it live with groups. The sounds I normally use (Piano, Strings, Violin or fiddle, Organ, Electric pianos. pads, etc are second to none and easy to access. And the keyboard is very responsive. When I play solo, jazz, RB, Pop, whatever, I use the performance mode and knocks peoples socks off including me. A GREAT KEYBOARD.

I'm not too much into the dance or etherial stuff.

  • Beautiful playing! Really nice, thanks for sharing!

And by the way.. I think the Motif is great!

I just ordered a Kurzweil PC3x since I couldn't afford a 88 key version of the Motif. Though I think this instrument has got it all. But I'm just a pianoplayer so the kurz will be more than fine for me xD

  • Kurzweil PC3x is great synthesizer with incredible sound, a real competitor Motif XS, I played on it and I can say that the sound PC3x simply excellent machine!

  • RUS... we finaly agree on sumthin.... the PC3x is great.... BEAUTIFUL pads synths

    MPC ALL DAY!!!

heard ur other music and it sounds realy good keep doing what ur doing but i still think xs is not worth 3k...lol

  • And I think worth it! Because it is already easy to work with sequencer, patterns, and this is a great argument! Korg Oasys their money is not worth that's for sure!

And I think XS he fully justifies its price, and confirms the status of a class hi-end.

Write please, without cuts, you are very hard to translate!

  • Sorry, just got used to writing like that. The Oasys is Way overpriced. But when i talk about a lot of money I'm talking about something/anything that I'm my opinion isn't worth it's price. Yes, the sequencers on the Mofit's are good I know that much, but if it comes to paying $3000 I would rather get a computer.. so that's why I say I would rather get an Open Labs It's a computer inside of a piano/keyboard. I understand if you told me it was 2k but 3k is a little too much.

    MPC ALL DAY!!!

  • Stop you a-s hole .. you are an annoying low class piece of shit. Go learn how to write properly before you start posting your stupid retarded inbred nonsense here...Pleeaz..!!! you stupid ape.... how did evolution miss your genes ???

  • I really like the PC3x, good board. See the videos I put up. Bord days at work. :)

  • I wasnt impressed by the XS either.... Not worth all the money...... WAY TOO MUCH FOR A FEW PADS AND SYNTHS......... DUDE, WHAT EVER HAPPEND TO THE REST OF THE SOUNDS?....

(like i said its a Motif with a nice screen)

    FANTOM.... MPC ALL DAY!!!!!!!

  • I guess some people can see when others are tryin to give them sum advice...

My mother always said "dont force feed a child, they'll eat eventually"..... you catch what im sayin in the future...

Music is creativity and originality, you cant do/be that sounding like everyone else....

    Mix and play ON...

    MPC ALL DAY!!!!!!

  • I aint tryin to argue..... but honestly dude that first sound is crap....... and i aint tryin to tell you to sell your Mo xS..... cuz you aint gunna get what you paid for it.... But check out the Vsynth GT and the Open Labs... believe you me especially if you do electronica..... Your passin up on a lot of Very kool Sounds.... Expesive is not always better...... There are some sounds you cant replicate..... And mixing sounds together to a completely new sounds is fun.... But play on

  • I will never sell my Motif. Because his comfortable sequncer ( this is important, because I do not work with software and computer, I work only in a sequencer of synthesizer ) and fat sound I am fully satisfied! It is the most comfortable in a management synthesizer on which I played and his sound is the best for my music! Neither Roland nor Korg I was not impressed!

  • Thats.... "ok"...... I dont work with softwear either just synths and drum machines(mpc)... I sequence everything with my MPC.... Horns, SYNTHs, percussion, strings and then i play piano or EP live...... but also have a drummer playing along with a guitar player....... So i do alot of sequencing... People tell me to switch to computer but i realy like the sequencer on my MPC 4000, I find it Easy to use.,...

  • I luv synths and wer ever i can find a good synth believe me ill do anything in my power to get it... but after having the fantom its hard to for me to say this is better that wut i got..... Im really starting to look at vintage synths for a rich crunchy sounds. But til then ill just get me an open labs and mimic the sounds i like that i dont currently have in my setup........ !XS OVER PRICED!... if i wanted a Mo i would get a Mo8.... XS, for now not worth it.. can wait for a price drop.

  • I didnt understand that last comment but the vsynth Is Crazy! you cant say no..... The microx isnt the best if keyboards... ill give you that but mix the motion pads with the strings on the fantom or the synths with the orchestral sound or the leads with a nice distorted guitar.... you cant loose.... you have people guessing wer you get your sounds from..... people will digg your sounds. I get that reaction many times wen i perform.

  • at guitar center and a small concert i played at and the band before mine had it set up so, just told them let me use it... just connected my drum machine..... Yes, i did hear all the sounds..... but not interested in paying a crap load for just a few sounds..... its a waste of time and money........ Dude I'll just get me a open labs and eventually i get to play another XS and mimic on the few i realy do like... You CRAZY 3k for a XS !INSANE!

  • and the Fantom wouldnt be as big as it is if it was crap...... Im not a big fan of korg either but the microkorg is Great.... Its just synth... and fits well into any setup..... and when it comes to synths and pads.... DUDE go to your nearest music store and tryout a Vsynth or VsynthGT....... and then you tell me you dont like roland........ the synths are crazy and its EZ to tweek in live performances..... And i have played Mo XS....

  • I did not talk for Vsynth, I talked only for the line of Fantom. And I do not need Vsynth, I will take Roland Jp8000 on replacement the M50, he will where more walk up me on a sound what micro-x or Vsynth!

  • Like I said its all opinion..... I play a lot of hiphop, gospl, pop and latin caribian music...... But you cant tell me that the Micro Korg, Fantom is Crap..... YOU DONT KNOW what cho talkin bout...... You name me one great producer that doent have a microkorg..... (anyone that luvs synths)......

  • I luv boards..... and if i found the XS for CHEAP i would probly get it but to me it still doent compair.... i just wouldnt pay soooo Much for it..... The last time i check it was in the HIGH 2k or LOW 3k.... for that i wait and get me a miko/neko (new) or buy it used for that same price(Ebay)... Sum people say its just a computer wth a midi controlr but i would rather have a computer wth a great sequencer and shit load of sound and my recording softwear than a Mo XS.. Thats just Me

  • And in general Roland Fantom also nonsense, a sound is licked as compared to Motif XS. And in general before to drive on Motif you at first purchase him and play, and then already drive a barrel!

  • To each his own dude.... if I knew well English, I would argue yet with you, but I know English badly. Personally I will never sell my Motif !! Soon I will load new video under the name Electron and I think such sound will not be in Roland, as be there

  • I know yamaha doesnt NEED to imitate roland in any way, shape or form but i think every musician luvs realistic sounds... You cant tell me that if the instrument on the Motif sounded REALY Real you wouldnt be the first one showing them off.. If you say "NO" you lie... I luv synth, I have 6 keyboards but the price i payed for three of them still doesnt add up to the XS... Roland Vsynth, Korg Microkorg and of course my Fantom....(also have a mrico x and alesis)....

  • Do I not very much understand that you want from me? Personally for me were and Korg and Roland and it all is honest such shit as compared to motif, for these synthesizers a sound is soapy, therefore I sell the Korg M50, because he does not drag as far as to Motif, because sound at M3\M50 complete soapy!

  • I guess it all opinion... but when i see a horn sound/patch i expect it to sound like horns same with piano or strings(i havent heard the strings on the xs..yet) thats my beef with Yamaha..... but the synths and pads arent bad i just wouldnt pay so much for synths and pads...... To me(me) roland is extremly well rounded... the percussion is the best i heard, the horns are great(even tho nuthin is going to sound lik the real thing) and the strings are GREAT...

  • I mainly play electronic music and honestly horns is not important to me, piano and strings sound/patch these sounds do not need me, for me Synths is important, pad and texture which in Motif XS fully satisfies me + heap of additional libraries!

  • Everyone talks good 'bout the motif's... but i personally dont like them... Roland All the way.... i dont think yamaha can replicate the "realness" of roland horns or piano.... thats just me.... I would get an fantom x before an over priced motif xs.... Plus why pay so much more for a fancy Mo8 with a color screen....when you can get a regular mo8 for so much cheaper.....its stupid

    MPC ALL DAY!!!!...................

  • And why must Yamaha repeat the "realness" of roland horns or piano??? Yamaha has the own high-quality, fat sound......

Who said that Roland it is a standard of sound and realisticness?

  • Sounds nice. What performances are you using?

  • All standard + my pieces in sequencer=)

  • Good sound!!!! Nice perfomance!!!

  • Supermáquina

  • mais il est enorme! on pourrai le comparé a un OASYS!

  • Nice job!! I can hardlu wait to get my hands on mine!!

  • That piano sound in 1:19 is edited or is an original voice or patch?

  • It original voice with the included button Af1 which adds fullness and echo!

  • then it's probably not for you. sound is subjective after all.

  • How are any of these patches you heard cheesy? There's nothing cheesy about the XS dude.

  • que asco la neta

  • demasiado piano para esto :S

  • Korg m3 or Motif xs ??

  • Oasys 2 ;-)

  • oasys 2? are they making a new OASYS ?? :)

  • Korg M3 61/73 + Motif XS Rack ;)

  • Defently motif, the sound quality is much better than g8...but g 8 got more funkcion on keyboard...if u buy motif u get cubase ai, and if u learn how to use it, than roland have no chance...if u want to just play and experiment with everything fast and easy, than buy roland, but if u realy want to do stuf buy motif!! I got both :))))))))

  • Thatz a sample from Enya's We're all free (ur sumthin')!The first beat is.Tight keyboard.Whack beats.

  • No actually its from Enya's Watermark.

  • I have a question too..

Whats the diffrence between a Motif ES and a Motif XS?

  • Fantom G or Motif XS and Why?

  • I think...

If you are really pro and you are very famous then Fangom G because you have more things that you can change like studio stuffs

But if you are like a normal player then yamaha because real time changing and its easier to do stuffs...learning how to USE the piano anyway both of them are really good :)

    Motif XS for me (Y)

  • what kind of a stupid answer is that?

more pros use motif xs than fantom g these days. fantom-g is still stuck with the old 90's rompler sounds, motif xs is updated to sound better and has nice filters etc.

if i were you, i will get the motif xs first anad the fantom g later.

  • you are true :)

    Im sorry for being stupid

    XS for the win

  • I'd Say that it dont matter but I heard that the Motif is easyer in use + The pitch bender is in a diffrent position than in the fantom.. So if U making pitched sounds take the motif..

Scott Storch makes a lot of pitched sounds and he got the motif..

Timbo makes diffrent style beats and he got a Fantom N Korg.. For me = Motif Deffinatly

  • Hi, nice sounding stuff. Are these standard patches or ones you have made?

  • Part patches standard, part mine!

  • You are amazing.

  • Very nive version of Viper!
