SAME @Minnie haha. I had no idea about how shoplifters get caught. I am rich, as my parents make over 300k$ a year etc, but I don't like using their money. So I used to steal chocolate and candy like every week for like a year(since I was 16), now I just turned 18, and I decided to steal some shirts in the fitting room. The loss prevention guy stopped me outside of the store and he seemed pretty shaky and mad.

I will serious hurt these LPs one day. They ruin stores

I was making roughly 20-25 apprehensions a month by myself, that was with full hands on and all. they went hands off, dont lay a finger on shoplifters and my apps went down by half almost. It was humiliating to go stop someone in the vestibule, have a huge crowd gather then the guy just walks away and im left standing there with my thumb up my butt.

Anyways, i quit walmart and work for a high end retail company.(nordstrom,saks etc)

Store security cannot assault people, and illegally detain them. They are not sworn officers, and have no legal authority to use force, or detain shoplifters. Every one of these people has a lawsuit if they want one.

@laxbro233 Have fun with that. In most states it illegal to conceal un-paid merchandise. Additionally if you were to attack a security guard as you mentioned you can be charged with assault. Oh, and if you come to target trying to sue us we will hand you a trespass notice and you won't be able to visit a target store for the rest of your life. Have fun in jail :)

well in my state its only illegal once you walk past all points of sale. If they catch me before, I can sue them for defamation, saying I was going to pay for it. You don't realize how easy it is I can sue target for many other sings but I just don't know when I should start. Targets going bankrupt stores in my area are closing down..

most targets around here have a cop on duty from the city they live in from 9-9. around here its quite frequent that the cheif of drug enforcement does his job from the front of the store. they have small offices there.
