  • @pipsqueek14 that s cool i play just guitar,and bass......

  • Comment removed

  • as bandas começaram a ser legail em 1980! mas hoje em dia tem cada porcaria.

  • lol, you can't even hear snowy's solo, that's a sign that he was never meant to be with lizzy

  • Why does Phil's voice sound so rough?

  • @juggalohunter100 He is angry;)

  • that was good the way they merged are you ready and genocide

  • Yeaaaah I am ready to rock.

Thin Lizzy is one of the greatest bands in the world.

    Get over it.

  • I photographed THin Lizzy in 77 when they opened for Queen. To see the shots go to 70srockphotos (.com)

  • Every thing I've seen from Rockpalast shows was nothing less than phenomenal, and this is no exception! Thank you for sharing it with us!

  • These guys were not playin' around, they were straight goin' at it!!!!!!!

  • HOW GOOD ARE THIN LIZZY, WERE WAS I ALL THEM YEARS AGO

  • This is the best intro and first song ever recorded! The pyros, the smoke. the orange, Phil's move... I think my head would have exploded if I were actually there. Thanks for the post gdeggdeg!

  • This is so cool!

  • To

  • Brian Robertson was good too

  • People lets see the best polish rock band - Lady Pank and "Mniej niż zero" you will see what mean rock...

  • scott gorham was the best guitarist for this band!

  • @Adrenaline4real he was a beast but john sykes takes that throne

  • @g8299 Gary Moore runs rings around John Sykes. Scott Gorham's ear for melody is second to none.

  • Brings back memories of Hi school, listening late night on headphones, thru a vacuum tube receiver..nice!

  • @TwoPointsUp haha right on! old times good times

  • 3:30 I wear the same shoes as Phil Lynott! WOOT! LOL. I do wear red Chucks but I think Phil's wearing the high-tops while I wear the low ones, which would explain the Star on the shoe. Random this was but this just makes Phil Lynott a little bit cooler to me lol! RIP Phil...and Gary too!

  • u2 irish for girl

    THIN LIZZY IRISH FOR BOYS!!!!

  • @lukevertiis OK they were Irish, Kind of, if you say so, The band was certainly of irish origin, and the roots grew in Dublin and phiip would not let anyone say they wernt... So Bizarly i agree with you actually..!!

  • @jackshit64yea

    They are Irish.

Apart from all the obvious stuff about the history of the band their songs include: Emerald (obvious and which also is played in 3/4, the timing of an Irish jig), Whiskey in the Jar (old Irish folk song about an Irish rebellion group), The Friendly Ranger At Clontarf Castle (which is in Dublin), Eire (Ireland), Clifton Grange Hotel (which is about the hotel Lynnotts mother ran in Dublin) and Roisin Dubh (Irish language for Black Rose,a medley of Irish folk songs

  • and Dublin.

Listen to the lyrics of Eire.

  • @lukevertiis OK i will settle this, Philip Lynott Birmingham UK, Eric Bell Belfast UK Eric Wrixon Belfast UK, Brian Downey Dublin Ireland,, Gary Moore Belfast UK,, John Cann UK,, Andy Gee Berlin Germany,, Brian Robertson Scotland UK, Scott Gorham California USA ,, Mark Nauseef New York USA,, Midge Ure Scotland UK,, Dave Flett Scotland UK,, Snowy White Devon UK,, Darren Wharton Manchester UK,, John Sykes Reading UK ,, Looks more Scottish, Northern Irish or even American than Irish

  • @jackshit64yea The band came together in Dublin. Places of birth mean very little; Lynott was raised in Dublin, not in Birmingham. He met Downey at school in Dublin, So much of Lynott's lyrics reference Irish and Dublin themes and places. Sure, the market they needed to crack was in the UK and they relocated. And yes, by the time they folded, there were more members in the band whose self-identity/nationality was not Irish. But it is a bit like saying AC/DC are not an Australian band.

  • @macseinchin He was born in West Brom...which happily makes him not a brummie but a Yam Yam (a blackcountryman) ...but yes, I agree, he was a staunch irishman :-)

  • @hezola I Love You!!! My Lizzy Brethren!!

  • @macseinchin acdc = scottish

  • @Batwing3 AC/DC scottish? HAHAHAHAHAHAH no my lad, they come from Australia :P

  • @belrandir He thought Bon came from Scottland :-)

  • @belrandir they were born in scotland, band formed in australia

  • Are you ready , By Grand Funk , on their " live album " blows this away !

  • @47tooter Lmao @ Grand Funk ever playing a song with this much energy/musicianship...their drummer plays a three piece drum set dude...nuff said.

  • @fukinblowme Are you kidding ? You gotta watch their video " Inside looking out " the best rock performance Ever ! And he plays a toy 3 piece drumset and mark plays a 200 $ Guitar with masking tape on it .

  • @47tooter i agree.i love thin lizzy and grand funk but still think grand funk is the greatest live band ever

  • I'm ready to rock!!!!! \m/

  • @lukevertiis actually i think youll find they ARE british

  • best thing they did was go out with a bang rather than carry on, getting older and weaker and living off their reputations.... like rod stewart, quo, etc

  • i'm sure Gohram and Lynnot are completly drunk and stoned

  • @Beetlejules35 fuck yeah!

    mr.scott gorham

  • Gallagher couldn't hold thin Lizzie picks for them. rock on forever phil

  • sound engi = sonofabitch

  • Yes, there is only one legend that could hold their own with Thin, and that was the man himself, I'm sure in the idolhood of Lizzy members, the one and only Rory Gallagher.

  • best british band

  • @andaloo wrong country dude, ireland

  • ...et J"adore ...

  • @soulrebel2008 - this show's been available on DVD for at least a couple of years mate, head over to Amazon or the likes, it's still available.

  • how could 2 people not like this?

  • Sounds like Motorhead :)

  • Is this recorded in Germany?

  • no one will ever top these guys with the music and history of playing

  • makes you wonder what cocksuckers control the media. this group fukin ruled.

  • hm^^ Snowy White did the "The Wall" Shows with Pink Floyd one year before, and I find it quite surprising to see him play this kind of fast rock^^ he's playing great, of curse, but he's not rocking out like his bandmates in here, LoL

  • Bruno at the start hahaha

    nice one Phil!!!

  • They were never underrated by me or anyone I know that ever heard or saw them live. I was lucky enough to catch em live 5 or 6 times and I still listen to them today, BRILLIANT

    Phil Lynott R.I.P

  • most underrated band ever

  • My favourite song ever. 25 years and it still gives me gouse bumps. The sound engineer f'd up the mix. Snowy should have been turnd up. I love the version at the Sydney opera house steps 1977, where Garry Moore shreds big time!!! I think he played a Gibson blues junior. Thanks man for posting, this his still relevant & sounds great. Best hard rock brand ever.

  • PHYL LYNNOT como sus hermanos de raza los boxeadores campeones del mundo de peso pesado y peso pluma MUHAMADD ALÍ y JOSÉ LEGRÁ noqueaba cón su bajo y su voz .

  • Best Irish band ever, by miles....

  • besst band ever

  • @orient1961 Don't forget about Rory Gallagher! Well, he really isn't a band, though. I guess he might qualify as the best Irish guitarist :)

  • @dantes1815

he was in a band called taste .the best blues rock band of ireland

  • @orient1961 appart from west life

  • @orient1961 I dont know The Pogues are fuckin awsome

  • I`m Ready!

  • Thank You Preacain.

    Excelente música y video.

    Un abrazo

  • i would have given my left nut to be at that concert

  • Fuckin amazin band

    waaaaaaay ahead of their time!!

  • The most underrated band in the whole world... There are no more like em.... Real Rock, beyond classic....

  • thats soo true.

  • @bigwhitebear1 You are so right! The best hard rock band ever!!!

  • @bigwhitebear1 how are they underrated... theyre great

  • @lordnewry they are underated because nobody realised how great thin lizzy were until phil lynott died. which explains his statue in dublin

  • @hailknopfler2 Fair enough.. that goes for AC/DC with Bon Scott... once he died everyone realised that bon scott was acdc and brian was never going to be able to match him... Statue of bon scott in fremantle, australia.. that is same as phil lynott... Both legends of real rock and roll

  • @lordnewry with phil i agree but to say that ac/dc wasnt as good or people didnt think they were good after bon scott died is retarded. ac/dc had their biggest hits after bon scott died. im not saying he wasnt great im just saying brian johnson is also amazing and the best replacement they couldve hoped for

  • @lordnewry I don't agree with you, I too like most the Bon Scott years, but Brian did an awesome work and made many classics with AC/DC. But I do agree that Bons death helped them reach the top. Therefore, I don't think they made a statue of him because they compared the two singers, although AC/DC changed their sound with Brian from rock n' roll to heavy rock.

  • @bigwhitebear1 im 14 and only play this kind of music. im looking for other kids who like this knd of music trying to start a band and bringing the good music back.

  • @pipsqueek14 My hats off to you Pip.... I was 16 when they came out and no one is better.... good luck to you and I hope you keep Phil Lynott bass and vocals, Scott Gorham lead guitar , Brian Downey drums and Brian Robertson lead guitar alive ....110% Classic Rock n Rock .... THiN LiZzY is the greatest of all...

  • @bigwhitebear1 thank you

  • @pipsqueek14 where are you from?

  • @SeanF1994 im form the netherlands

  • @pipsqueek14

Bless you child..we need more youngn's like you !

  • This was the first major band I ever saw and it was at about the same time as this. I was blown away at the time and it's still good although I think they lack some of the energy of previous lineups. I doubt that Snowy white looks back at his time with Thin Lizzy with much fondness

  • EHHHH......cool

  • What an opener! And yup, that split stance is the coolest...

  • You know the concert is gonna be incredible as soon as Phil does the iconic split stance at the start. Trademark genious.

  • Schön wärs heute Abend.

    R.I.P Phil Lynott 4.1.86

    Thanks for good music.

  • HEUTE ABEND

  • so effing good. You can totally hear how they influenced people like Grohl, Homme and Bjork.

  • "so effing good. You can totally hear how they influenced people like Grohl, Homme and Bjork."..metallica, and countless bands with that "soulful" sound.

  • Phil & Scott look waaaay wired at this show. They really should have passed some of the drugs to Snowy White to perk him up.

    The keyboards suck.

  • live monsters

  • simply brilliant , what make's Thin Lizzy the best "Live" band in the world by far is because they're ego's were not bigger than the music they made , they cared about how it was played and how it sound. Even in theyre drunken haze i think the mutual respect they gave for each others abilities cannot be matched in this day and age , hopefully there will be another band that is as good as lizzy , one day!

  • CRAP MIX? Its Thin lizzy u prat, the best LOUDEST band ever. no one or nothing else can match this band.

  • There is not a damn thing wrong with these guitarists you fuckin goof.

  • It's such a shame this show has such a crap mix. There's fuck all bottom end, too much synth, and the guitars sound way too thin.

Remember don't take drugs: It makes you recruit totally inappropriate guitarists and makes you think you need keyboards.

  • it was part of lizzy's experimentalism. ok, maybe not the best guitarists but each part of lizzy's history developed some great stuff.

  • Every artist grows at some point. If musicians didn't take drugs, you wouldn't have 90% of the greatest shit that ever was. There's nothing wrong with the band, it's just a shitty live mix. Happens to every band that has ever played live, ever.

  • There's actually a lot of truth to what you've posted. The best music was created in smoke filled rooms. Bring back analog, bring back sex drugs n rock n roll. Drugs help when used in moderate doses to fuel the creative mind. They hurt when they become more important then the music and life itself.

  • Ride the Court,

EVERY single bit of decent Rock & Roll, Blues & Jazz music - the World has ever heard was written under the influence of a massive amount of drugs, ya eejit ya!Dont know much about rock & roll do ya ,mate? Jeezuz , how stupid can a boy be??

  • I'm on your side, dumbass. My comment was in response to someone telling us not to use drugs for fear of a shitty live sound. And no, not EVERY single bit of good music was drug induced, but like I said, most of it was. Take people like Frank Zappa for example. He was totally clean, as well as many jazz musicians.

  • Sweet Jayzuz mate! My profuse apologies to you. I was (meant to be anyway) - referring to the total naive gobshite - called "liberatedcitizens." Ironic name for the chap The man is trapped inside his own small mind. A great advertisement for acid use - if ever there was one. ;-)

Mo chara - you have my unreserved apologies for replying to the WRONG feckin name! I therefore fully accept "dumbass" as my name of the day for this grevious mistake.. Rock on brother! Keep the Faith..

  • No worries brah. Happens to the best of us.

  • i like it....

  • Aaw he doesnt have his black mirrored fender :(

  • die yes itwas

  • This was one of the best concert from Thin Lizzy...

  • It´s great, but i miss Robo!

  • thin lizzie at there best before mendoza came in and fucked it all up. dirty rotter get him a plane and fly him back to bragg

  • look if u just came hear to spam shite comments dont do it on here get a life

  • can you play bass better than he can? ive seen him play a jazz bass solo and it was fucking mad!

  • You fukken idiot - Marco Mendoza is one of the greatest, most respected bass players alive. Go listen to his trio Straightjacket sometime before you blab such idiocy on the Net. And Marco wasn't fired from Whitesnake - he left because he didn't want to sit around doing nothing while Coverdale decided what to do next. The real Don Airey should give you a beating.

  • I hear the best way to convince someone you're right is to start your comment with "You fucking idiot."

  • Fuck off and learn to spell Thin Lizzy while you're at it.

  • I think I'm gonna get a sunbust Les Paul now, not Wine Red....Dig Scott's guitar. What a way to start a show...ARE YOU READY !!!!!!

  • Fantastic, never seen it before

  • rock n roll hall of fame why not

  • Because the Rock n' Roll HOF is a joke. No Thin Lizzy, no Deep Purple, no Judas Priest, no KISS, no Scorpions or UFO...wtf? Hell, Sabbath just finally got in after 9 or 10 tries. Just say "no" to the RnR HOF...it's a fuckin' joke.
