@jackshit64yea The band came together in Dublin. Places of birth mean very little; Lynott was raised in Dublin, not in Birmingham. He met Downey at school in Dublin, So much of Lynott's lyrics reference Irish and Dublin themes and places. Sure, the market they needed to crack was in the UK and they relocated. And yes, by the time they folded, there were more members in the band whose self-identity/nationality was not Irish. But it is a bit like saying AC/DC are not an Australian band.
