  • Soooooo happy I'm in Canada:)

  • A "profit of ten cents on the dollar" is not profit, it is loss.

  • he's a straight shooter wish he would run for office

  • Netherland & Switzerland, 99% coverage and no public plan, but insurance companies are regulated like utility companies. Taiwan & Singapore have best medical care system in the world, 99% coverage, high quality, NO WAITING, and they are government run with less 5% GDP. Unreasonable premium, preexisting condition exclusion, changing drug formulary, deny treatment, medicare drug GAP for Senior are just plain wrong. Come on my fellow American, let us fix the healthcare for our children sakes!

  • When satanists and Eugenists racists are in control of society, it is because we have an authority crisis and have the government that we deserve, we vote them in with the sets of moral values we no longer have but Hey Jesus is coming back, He will install a Theocracy, i hope you all are on His good side cuz this time, He is not coming to save but to get vengeance on His enemies, be wise, choose Christ and live forever

  • He referenced Monty Python. I am impressed.

  • And this is why I don't want a healthcare bill.

  • America... For the corporation by the corporation and of the corporpation

  • "This is NOT `Health,' this is NOT `Care,' this is certainly NOT `Reform.'"

That means that the only part of the four-word common name of this travesty in its current form that applies at all is the final word:

It IS most definitely a "Bill." As in, what people have to PAY.

  • The great pretender gives another ridiculous sanctimonious speech, naturally targetting the insurance companies and conservatives. Anyone with half a brain can see that the health care bill evolved into nothing but a strategic campaign goal to ensure that Democrats retain power in 2010 and to protect Obama from political disaster. Why do you think they are carelessly rushing such a flawed mess through the Senate? Power and political careers are always first and foremost.

  • This Country is a sad ,sad, fraud!

We allow the loss billions on the industrial military machine and their scum bag profiteers and Lobbyist buying out every elected official for the Corporate elite and we can't agree that the health of our own citizens is worth working together on. Bahahahaha !

This Country is a fraud worth leaving behind. Rot in Hell you greedy pigs!

    I'll live elsewhere.

Thanks , Keith for the only honest rant on network media. At least you have your priorities straight

  • Hillary turns out would of had more balls. Sorry I voted for "change"

  • Liberals eating their own...

    LOVE IT!

  • This is a prime example of why I don't watch cable news outlets anymore.

The point of the news should be to report the facts in a way for me to make my own informed decision, and NOT a series of 6 minute diatribes spewing forth one's own personal opinion. It comes from both sides of the aisle and disgusts me.....

  • oberman wants comrade shmulie and goldsmith insurace agency. 1/3 of working class earnings should go directly to Mr Goldsmith's children so they can hire more photographers when they annally rape your gentile children. that's what it's about. Oberman know this. He doesn't tell you that.

  • no actually, the people are against it. the representatives are getting flooded with letters. sorry but free market insurance coverage, well, that's money for the lowest bidder. Bob and Bill's health coverage should cover it.

  • listen up Missy Belle...The problem is the gov.you are speaking of..isn't doing that...it's bought and paid for BY THE CORPS!!so the gov(there are a few...VERY FEW)as a whole..is untrustworthy!!Why would you want someone UNTRUSTWORTHY in charge of YOUR FINANCES??Kinda like the fox guarding the henhouse if you will....

  • what is wrong with Americans...totally brain washed into believing that the Govt's role is not to provide health, education and social security to it's people...it's just every man for himself against the corporate agenda..

  • THE OFFICIAL OBAMA NETWORK

  • Every time the insurance company's profit margin goes down, it makes baby Jesus cry :*(

  • Even though Keith Olberman is a complete idiot....he at least admits how completely "STUPID" and criminal it is to "MANDATE" government healthcare. Most people are laid off and broke right now. Where are they gonna get the extra money to buy ObamaCare? They better start building extra prisons cause people arent going to give what they don't have. Kill this Bill and do some "Real" reform. This is just another government scam to take our money and give it to "The too big to Fail" companies!

  • lol i pity you for beleaving that crap Obama just gave fox news and the corporate agendae what they wanted so enough with blaming the libs its not there falt its the right winged tea baggers who wanted it this way now they got what they wanted your still blaming the wrong ppl Keith is only telling the truth about the crazy right winged commies so if you want to lay blame email fox news and blame them for this mess

  • I wish everybody was as well spoken as Keith Olbermann. This country is where it is because of impotent sheeple residents

  • good analysis of the sad situation. Obama does need to step up and lead his party and place the needs of the insurance industry somewhere down the list below the needs of the people.

  • This is nothing but massive power grab by Pelosi, Reid, Obama and the other dirty lefties.

The pain these people are inflicting on this country is unreal and all under the guise of "doing what's fair" and helping people.

  • and you thing that republicans have something better for us?

  • Power grab?? Are you kidding. That would be the most cowardly, impotent power grab I have ever seen. Republicans should be very happy with what Obama has done so far. No public option, no change in don't ask don't tell etc etc

  • Joe Lieberman must GO! Throw him to the wolves as he did to the Dems! Disgusting sell-out!

  • Thanks Democrats! You make me proud that I didn't register under your joke of a party. You will forever be pussywhipped by Jesusfreaks and simpletons who call themselves Republicans. Obama a socialist? Nope. Obama is a conservative.

  • The GOP may have crappy ideas, but they at least get things done.

Dems always talk a lot and don't get a damn thing done.

Most people in the middle will be more frustrated with the latter. GOP isn't going to be blamed or remembered for what happened with this bill. The Dems will.

  • the GOP defeat of health insurance reform so that unethical health insurance companies can maintain the status quo will bring the GOP to its knees for the next 12 yrs

USA is the only Capitalistic Democratic Country w/out govt provided health care 4 everyone.

the GOP misses the point in the health care debate.. the USA can not compete with Western Europe b/c the corporations in those Modern Western democracies have to budget $0.00 for health care.. b/c their workers are already covered

  • You can't blaim this on the republicans the democrats owned all the chess pieces and they still folded.

The Dems did not have the guts to push through their own agenda!

    Why?

  • Comment removed

  • I am a liberal and I must say I have to agree. That may be the most frustrating part.

  • I don't even like this show that much, but this guy hit this one right on the nose...

  • Is that Dennis Miller or Nancy Grace..

If the two had a baby, this is what you'd get.

  • Keith is wrong. According to his own stand-in (Lawrence O'Donnell), reconciliation is subject to a filibuster. This is a good bill and an improvement over the status quo. Al Franken introduce an amendment that would require health insurance companies to spend 90% of the money they receive through premiums on health costs and not on profits, administrative costs or advertising. That would make this an even better bill.

  • How can a bill that forces people to buy private insurance we don't want, without a national public healthcare option big enough to compete and keep costs down, an "improvement over the status quo"?

How can they force us to buy a for-profit product? Especially with no real control on cost? Do Democrats really think they will get rewarded for that?? Are they insane?

I'm starting to feel like the Democrats can rot in hell with the Republicans, who set the standard for malicious government.

  • It's sickening what the Democrats are letting slip out of their grasp. Literally, sickening. I'm losing faith... which is an awful thing to lose.

  • How is that going to be implemented? What garuntees do we have?? Without the public option, we have NOTHING!

  • I tried to tell my fellow liberal friends that Ron Paul was the way to go. They didn't listen then, and they still don't get it. Listen...it's the whole corrupt system, Dem and Repub, get it? yet? knock knock, anyone in there??

  • @yuefo

OK lunatic. Let's just get your argument straight here: Democrats cannot enact a complete government takeover of the healthcare system (single payer) due to what you would allege as cowardice or lack of political support or whatever, so what they should do is support a candidate who is 100% opposed to any sort of government involvement in the economy.

Totally dishonest and illogical, typical of a Ron Paul supporter.

  • We need socialized medicine in this country. The UK spends less of their GDP on medicine than we do, and they take care of everyone! Even non-citizen residents! This bill was going to be a bandage to put on the seeping wound that is healthcare. Now, what they're trying to give us is a little band-aid. I don't want to buy a band-aid when I could have something that could actually do me some good!

  • "It's the whole corrupt system, Dem and Repub," yes, we get it!

But that doesn't mean Ron Paul's libertarianism is automatically the way to go.

Have we really explored all the alternatives?

  • Libertarianism is rarely the answer.

We haven't explored socialism yet! :D

  • Let's do both. Libertarian Socialism would address many problems.

  • I think it would be impractical unless we threw theocracy into the mix... XD

  • Theocracy? Whatchu talkin bout, girlie? Do you know what Libertarian Socialism is?

  • Libertarian socialism is a contradiction in terms.

  • what??? dont you like whats going on? our country is being lead by the right wing tea baggers they got what they want and not your pissed off at the libs for letting it happen lol

  • It's a contradiction insofar as the perverted American definitions are concerned. "Libertarian" in the American 'free-market' sense has only been around since the 1970s. The belief that "Socialism" means big government is a Cold War lie to instill fear.

The term "Libertarian Socialism" was first used in 1857. The real meaning of Libertarian is little to no state involvement and Socialism means direct worker ownership.

At least look it up on Wikipedia, and here's a video.

    watch?v=wriQGI5NGOM

  • Ron Paul hates Medicare and Medicaid. He's absolutely the worst politician for healthcare reform. WORST!

  • Well that's not technically true that Paul would be the worst. Remember he is the true libertarian and not these faux tea party libertarians running around.

Paul doesn't want health care to belong to either corporations(which is what the bill is currently built to accommodate unfortunately) or a large government. Paul has always been against big corporations as well so his view on health care goes even further back before health care insurance was sold as a commodity.

    CONT.

  • I'm just saying we don't need to go to these extremes when our government could use ideas from people like Ron Paul, Bernie Sanders, and Alan Grayson.

Financially speaking, the middle class of america is out of tricks to keep their wealth stable. From working multiple jobs by both the mother and father to massive multiple credit card debt, the middle class is running out of time even with taxes being as low as they are.

    CONT.

  • The worst part is that even the federal and state governments have already been feeling this pinch from the tax cuts from Obama, and Bush Jr. Programs are becoming bankrupt, or decaying from the inside out that used to be the social fiber and backbone of creating the middle class.

So lowering taxes even further would actually do more harm than good unless the people and the government want to abandon federal programs like the military, post, office, NARA, NASA, Medicare.

    CONT.

  • In short, the price and cost of living in the United States has become imbalanced. People aren't learning financial responsibility as well as the inability to provide people a proper standard of living where a working man can earn a place to sleep and food to eat.

We are in the rock and a hard place and what we do need is to start to trust our government and present our voices from the local to the federal level. This country does need a progressive movement, a movement of ideas, not freedom.

  • This is so funny it's like having a dumb friend who thinks he has a winning lotto ticket and he's a tottal ass to every body cuz he thinks the ticket is real .......

    YES WE CAN......HA

I guess the President isn't a Socialist after All

    HE'S A WEENIE

    Lol:-D

  • I wish Obama were actually Socialist.... he might actually get something done for healthcare if that were the case!

  • i have to say out of all the people in the news on all channles cnn,cbs abc Keith Olbermann is the only god damn one that makes any god damn sense to my friend at fixed news i want to say im sorry for my words but i have been keeping up with health care reform and it scares the hell out of me just thinking about not really having reform if my words has cause you any problems or disstress then i will understand if you deleted my comments

  • Well said Keith. Well said!

  • Awesomely said! Thank you, Keith!!!

  • This proves in such a clear way that both houses are owned by big insurance.

They just don't care about the little guy. Obama took a back seat approach and I cannot believe I am saying this but I am so disappointed in him. He is weak and just like the rest. He is so damn indifferent while we all suffer. He is heading for a one term presidency.

  • either barbara lee or donna edwards in 2012

  • with out the public option i pray that you or anyone from your family gets sick or go broke god bless you and yours

  • thanks, same to you as well

  • That's more like it guys, Marry Christmas!

  • I'm so sorry I voted for Obama now.

  • im feeling the same way

  • We are now victims of a Government that doesn't give a damn about our well being.Of the corporation by the corporation...Nice...
