so the judges had most find out some points where tatsuya sakuma commit a mistake and becuz vaughn gittin was doing it right but being left by tatsuya at the drift

angle, distance to other car (closer the better) if your behind you want to get as close as you can without hitting or passing the person in the lead, then oyu usually swap and if your at the lead you want the person behind to fall back as much as you can. more angle the more points. speed aswell i think
