  • Imagine how many great videos there would be of these machines and operators if...........blackberry would have been around in the 80s. tis guy was probably the only one at the mine with a video camera. Well Shot my friend

  • @edktm Funny you bring that up because Mr. Bunch WAS the only person at the mine with a camera!!! You are dead on though about the phones, etc. Now you are breaking the law if you use phones while at a coal mine and face fines if caught.

  • Thanks for uploading this! I gotta say, I doubt I'd ever get bored of operating that thing.

  • Eddie, the Operator in this video was a gentleman who went by the nickname at the mine of "Greaser". I can't remember his real name. He was the dayshift operator on the shovel since it started digging.

  • Who was the operator in this video?

  • This video is just outstanding! It don't get any better than this seeing this mechanical marvel Super Stripper in it's glory!!!

  • @Scentlessapprentice9 This was easily my favorite shovel in the area!!! She was a real treat to see and get to go on!!!!

  • Great video! These pieces preserve the memory of these great stripping shovels.Walter Bennet has done the samething with the The Silver Spade and the 1050-B in Industry,IllI wonder if any video of the Marion 5900 in Lynnville is out there

  • @generationll It is on video and I have it! Just be patient and I'll get it out there. Keep in mind though, this shovel here (the Marion 5960) was a much larger machine than the Lynnville machine. Just for the record of course. HAHA!!!! Seriously though, I'll get some clips of it up and running in due time I promise.
