@dude2die4 Yes he would have. I broke my neck from a nasty fall as well, and I moved (I had tried to sit up). Luckily someone was there to keep me from moving and creating further damage. Moving with a broken neck will kill you. That's why it's so important to keep someone completely still and not move them after an accident or a fall, until paramedics arrive and stabalize the victim.
