excellent post - amazing how polite the Japanese audience are - if it were a western audience they would have gone positively berko!!! - God they looked young (the band!!) my how they have changed (33 years can do that!!) :D cheers and thanks
Dave - "I think it's this aspect right here". Classic answer by Diamond Dave in his early 20's. I know it's lip synched but you can see a young band that was hungry.
It's amazing how when Van Halen came out they automatically had a sense of showmanship. Usually it can take a band a few years before they're like that.
@motleycrue24 Yeah, and funny thing is, haters always say "Van Halen was just another 80s band", yet it was almost every 80s band that modeled themselves after Van Halen.
This is fucking amazing. Funny thing is they were lip sinked, but the track was sped up so it kinda sounds live. Love the interview, proves VH was one of the only bands that had appeal with women AND the douche bag guitar guys(like me). go to a Rush show, it's great, but all dudes!
@johngregian They did not sped up the audio. I did to bypass youtube's authorized content checking. I wouldn't be able to post the audio track otherwise.
@VHFrance Yes, it's the original track. At the end of the solo where he does the "kill switch" effect, Eddie is pretending to use the whammy bar instead. There is no "kill switch" on his Strat. He played the original track with the Ibanez Destroyer which had a "kill switch". The whole taping was at the wrong speed. Listen to their voices.
Man, that used to be the case with Rush — and still may be most of the time — but I went to see them at Milwaukee Fest this summer and there was a ton of girls and women there. Females galore! I couldn't believe it.
@Hunkola Dude I totally agree with you man. Ive been wondering for 20years why they dont release a bunch of vintage stuff? I think someday they will once the money starts to get low. Id love to see the first 4 tours live.
Very cool video. DLR would be right as he predicted in the video, VH would be the future of rock in the 80's.

If this is 1978 then why did they say "this is the 1980's"?
Rattmaster86 1 year ago
@Rattmaster86 cause it was the new modern sound of rock that made its way through bands through the eighties

@VHFrance I was wondering about that. I could tell Dave's voice sounded different.
