Good practical suggestions, but my #1 suggestion is enter into a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ. For those familiar with the Christian view of the endtimes, the stuff happening now seems like stage-setting for the worst time ever, a 7-year period you won't be here for if you are in Christ, since we believe the Rapture will occur sometime before that time of trouble begins.
