I think the insertion of the US anthem in this video is a political statement by the person who produced it. Bit of psychological warfare implying that South Korea is part of the USA empire. trying to provoke anti US feelings in the minds of South Koreans who may be watching this. what I found funny when watching a documentary when they went into North Korea, they said that North Korea had all these building near the DMZ on their side to get some of the South Koreans to defect but all those building were just left there as dummies, old and weathering

Also these guards on the MDL are especially ruthless and well trained. A sniper on top of Pan Mun Gok killed one of our Korea soldiers while he was running up a hill at full speed.

I did 14 months in JSA, the intimidating unit you mentioned. We constantly prepped for chemical attacks as well as infiltrations. I can remember sending out several patrols to hunt for infiltrators who tried to sneak across and kill us. My friend Mike was seriously wounded in an altercation (provoked by the North). He was shot in the throat.

I have watched several training films that show North Korean tactics. They beat trees with their fists to harden their hands in order to crack a skull with one blow. They have an 80,000 man light infantry equivalent to our Army Rangers.

@Knarta, the building is the hall they signed the the armistice in 1953. Both SK and NK take turns to visit the building, so you can visit from either South or North but never at the same time. The actual border runs through the centre of the building.
