  • wow, this song takes me back to my childhood where the only means of entertainment i had was a radio, with the cassettes

  • Can someone tell me where in Tanzania Saida Karoli comes from?

  • @wmbolu bukoba in kagera..

  • Nature does not deal in perfection, but S.K's voice is a perfection, so I can only explain it as a one off genetical accident! Magic! Mayie yawa!

  • 2002 this music rocked and still does from this bahaya people,gr8t people, and this woman deserves recognition..............why cant africa have ''all africa best music,tv,drama, and movie awards.....

  • Beautiful lyrics and very well rendered, thank you Saida. During the 70s I travelled a lot in the North West area of Tanzania. Although I didn't have sufficient time to learn the language of the Bahaya I appreciate so much their culture that if I wasn't married at the time I would have married one. They are a highly cultured people. I wonder how much of that culture has survived the onslaught of the so-called Western civilisation.

  • Watching this video all you see is what makes Africa gr8.. pure tradition

  • @pdkahiu1 God bless you for your comment. We have almost been indoctrinated to label and fix a type of music to a particular person and, particular place or era. Consequently, we have shut ourselves off for fear of 'trespass'. Mental deprivation is often more lethal than the physical. As written, ' my people die because of lack of dream'

  • @pdkahiu1 wat are you talking about

  • they are Tanzanians but knowingly that they are and will remain related to western uganda

  • That has to be the reason why I hear some luganda words.

  • But didn't most people in Tanzania and Uganda arrive as part of the same spread of Bantu people 2000 years ago? Uganda and Tanzania (or even Tanganyika) are quite new countries anyway right (less than 200 years old)?

  • she's from tz. bahaya.. who tld u bahaya are originate from uganda , .. its vise versa lol!

  • pliz u don't know wat ur talkin abt bahaya originate from western ugandan tribes those are toro, ankole, bunyoro and kyiga then tutsi of burundi Rwanda are said too to ave the same origin dat is why most of the language, culture, appearance and their last names are the same. it is just they got diveded up when colonialist came in not oly that people had free movements be4 colonialisim.

  • can you give us some of the lyrics please???

  • easy up now !! big up ma people in songea moshi mtwala iringa moro...stay bless.. msasan run di place

  • haya originate from ankole, toro, bunyoro and kyiga in uganda and Rwanda and burundi u might notknow dat but it is very accurate dat is why the language is similar and their physical appearance.

  • Tanzania?? I thought shes from Uganda

  • she's from Tanzania,near Uganda border

  • wow u gotta luv the sweet song bird of Saida Karoli.

  • iyoo..iyooo..likin it even tho i have no idea i have no idea what she's talking.

  • Nakupenda Saida Karoli, sio kama wasanii wengine wanatengeneza videos kwenye nyumba ambazo hawatawahi kuzikaa, au kukodi magari ya fahari.

  • i agree

  • Finally, I found it! I don't know what she is saying but it doesn't matter because I really love this song.

Please, anyone explain what she is saying.

PS. thanks for uplaoding it. Thank you.

  • just scroll down to the second page, i translated it for you.

  • please librerianvixen ask sensible questions, learn to appreciate african music or music in general without looking at the negative aspects of musicians, this is how people destroy good musicians instead of appreciating the good music they create, they start to critisize how they dress or how they look. To avoid stupid arguements dont ask stupid questions. Respect peoples decisions weather bleached or not its none of your business.

  • well excuse me but for YOUR information pauleoy2k, i am not racist. I am a liberian all the way. i was just asking a question. anyways i will not continue to argue and start stupid nonsense arguements with u.

  • its not nonsense its just that im so tired of hearing you put that same comment on every video and then acting like its normal, those type of comments are totally unnecessary. Basically what your saying is that african people can be light skinned only if their bleaching. And thats exactly what i hear the whole of black america saying.

  • Really No need to get mad at each other we just got be 2gether. Well some people do it just to have a light skin. Mostly woman I don't about man. The use some kind of a soap I don't know what type. But it is dangerous especially during surgery because the skin is too soft. It is not racist to ask that pauleoy2k. I find it strange why they do that.

  • Why is it hard for people to believe that there are some African people that have light skin? I don't think she bleached her skin.

  • some bantus have really really light skin

  • does saida karoli bleach her skin?

  • are you racist??

  • i've heard some people on other videos talking about bleaching skin.Like someone was on the djouna mumbafu video asking if he bleached his skin. And for you're infromation those black america ideas of dark or lighter skin being more beatiful don't apply in africa becuase were all black!!!

  • i think this site is about appreciating music not for stupid gossip

  • its not stupid gossip, we're solving an important issue.

  • what is she singing about?

  • It is out of her belief in family values that she composed the popular Maria Salome, which roots for unity and tolerance among couples.

"When I first sung the number, everyone was interested in it, hence it became my first choice the moment I started recording," she said.

The song features sensational catch phrases likeWenye wivu wajinyonge and Kanichambua kama karanga.

"I believe we need to eliminate discord and conflicts the families," she said.

  • this joint is tight, i heard this was a big hit in 2001 all over east africa and congo. I really like the traditional feel it has to it.
