OMG... finally... after searching forever... I have found it... paul guilbert made a mistake! I was beginning to think he was a robot from the future sent back in time to play guitar and fight ninjas...
@trinoply That's what makes him human. I like his humble attitude and being so real with others which kinda close up his "Godlike skill gap" between him and the average person. Unlike other guitarist who will try to cover it up, it's just not PG style to do that. If you watch his alternate picking video, you will see him talking about being accurate with what you play and not cheating. XD
@TheInvalidChronicles Unplugged means "not-plugged in the amps" but usually people use this word to say there was no distortion on instruments like guitars, a kind of acoustical set, even tough a lot of artists used electrical instruments in their umplugged shows.. as Paul did that night.. Bye
wow, im impressed he can do that w/o distortion. then again if i was more familiar with paul gilbert, i probably wouldn't be surprised. thanks for the vid!
well its cause the one he plays here is has a harmony and usually is played like it was with racer x. i dont know why he didnt do what he usually does here (when he plays it by himself) but yea thats it
If was I there, my jaw would have made a dent in the floor because of it dropping so heavily =) love the soft touch he uses on the chord at 1:14, it takes on a completely different feel. Thanks for posting!!!
Paul OWNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the subtle sound of the phase 90 in with the clean tone. Sounds awesome without distortion. Just shows you how good the man's technique. Love it how he has to adjust to get the closing string skipping bit!!!
excellent !! en son clair c'est encore plus difficile... il s'arrete quand il se trompe, j'ai adoré, ca montre comme il est simple !! merci Izzyvoice pour cette vidéo !!

that mistake didnt even sound like a mistake
only reason we know it is, is bc we know the song...and his pause
could of been a while since he played it...
or jet lag...

Wish I was good enough to make those mistakes.

Damn, it still sounds great w/o distortion! I gotta slow it down & play it note for note.

It's always very surprising when PG makes a mistake but whenever he does, it's easily looked over because he's such an awesome guy

@trinoply Yes, but we can forgive him, right?

@Izzyvoice
We don't need to forgive him. His error still sounded good.

That's one of the hardest licks in the song too.

@trinoply To err is human, Paul Gilbert is divine (although that 'error' makes him human, right?)
tenki1 11 months ago
@trinoply his mistake was also a melody :DDDD.
silentmjsty 8 months ago
@trinoply Even though you've been talking your whole life, your tongue twists sometimes and you make a really stupid mistake. That makes us humans.
erolr900 8 months ago
@erolr900 It can happen.. but the good thing was how he laughed 'bout his error and went on.. Great!!
Izzyvoice 8 months ago
@Izzyvoice Of course it can, and it should as well, to remind him that he's just like us :) And I like his positive attitude

At least he can actually play fast without distortion - most 'fast' metal players can't actually play on clean.

@mrzelda8 He said in one video that he changed the song due to the lack of something in the ton of the racerx version.

Hey man, it's not a tragedy, it was a mistake..
However the acoustic instruments can be plugged too, if you want people hear what you play..
