@MacintoshWizard, I happen to be 18 years old. I first discovered our school bus frequency in 2009, when I had happened to be 15 1/2. Unfortunately, this is the last year I will attend school, as I plan to graduate. However, I will still enjoy listening to our local bus frequency, so I can keep an eye on my 10 year old nephew.
And also, I did notice the mains hum of your scanner unit, however, the mains hum I am speaking of is in fact in the background of our service center's transmitions
It feels great to know I'm not the only one who enjoyes monitoring the buses. cool video. Is the male voice that advises loud and clear the barn dispatcher? If so, it appears they use actual dispatch headsets. where I live, our barn dispatchers utilize a CPI tone remote. though he unit has clear voice quality, there is a 60 cycle hum in the background of the transmitions.
@dispatcher50100 Thanks for the comment. How old do you happen to be? I am 17 so I really enjoy listening to my districts communications to know whats going on. I am also a Amateur Radio Operator and I just love the hobby of radio communications. My district uses a DCS/DPL tone. I am sure that is not what you are hearing, I believe you are just hearing the hum that my old bearcat 10 channel makes on everything it receives. Please message me theres a lot more that I must tell you!
Hey, This is KD2AZH, Henry from Brockport.. Great Video! Call me sometime on 145.11 and let me know how that emergency communications turns out for you!
@kse615 Sounds Great! I will be sure too. After thinking for awhile I recall how the Superintendent became aware of my Licensing. I also out of curiosity looked up all of the frequencies for you district incase you didn't find them. I actually have a rig that came from that district that I received from someone who retired from maintenance last year, Its really neat in that everything is perfectly programed for that district amongst other things.
