  • We have a 2 month Northern MI course that we run here for the Militias units in MI. Camp Stasa is one of the primary course sites. We cycle 83 people through the course every 4 weeks.

Good vid! Please do more RON PAUL FOR PRESIDENT RON PAUL! MGK/GDW!

  • Now this is good television. where's those big fox investors?

  • I love florida hunt them damn marshes bout every day, how do i sign up? It wont let me finish the video

  • @ themighty9mm (continued)

Considering the weight of two wool blankets. They are roughly 3/16" thick but are very warm. Just remember that a sleeping bag won't keep you warm when it becomes wet. Wool blankets will.

  • @themighty9mm

The golden rule is...two is one, one is none. That being said, a wool blanket is somewhat heavy and will take up a good amount of room in your pack. If you have a dedicated shelter system (like Dave used to carry back in the day) adding a second wool blanket will make it larger in diameter and add more weight. One blanket is enough to keep you from dying in the right conditions but two would allow you to layer up or down. You may be better off with a good quality sleeping bag when

  • Great series Dave. I know you get this alot, but you have suggested italian wool blankets. For sleeping in cold weather would 1 be enough, or would 2 be better. Any idea about how thick they are?

  • is my gear waterproof...? everything except my halfshelter... not to worried, im in the desert

  • Mmmmmm....Jambalaya.

  • Great vids Dave, where did you get that wool coat?

  • i have to take 3 different economics classes in 11th grade. i strongly feel we should have at least 1 outdoor class. ive learned more being outside than behind a desk in my whole life.

  • Wow.. that looked just plain awesome. I hope we'll see more of that Dave.

  • nice work . i almost miss the glades. Florida is a hard land and a land of bounty.

  • If I was older I'd go to these but I'm only 13 :(

  • Wow I live like an hour away from the everglades

  • how do you look after your feet in that environment ?

  • @deanznz Part of the class invovles how to take care of your feet (and other important body parts) in the wilderness.

  • Dave. I need you to please reply back. What is the youngest age to do some survival camps/classes

  • @TheKidWithNoMustache 18 unless you have a parent with you.

  • @wildernessoutfitters what if you had parent consent?

  • @tylerpienta I believe that a parent or guardian must be present for all classes due to insurance reasons.

  • @wildernessoutfitters aww im 12

  • @Tilito99 Duel Survival un-edited. and without comercials.

  • Comment removed

  • damn i had to live in Australia, wanna come out here dave?

  • I would love to take some of your classes. I've actually planned a 1 week survival situation in the woods behind my house based on what I've learned in your videos. If it starts to get too bad, I can just walk up to my house, but it would still be cool to try.

  • 2 dislikes? Get your liberal asses out of here no one cares if you disliked the video.

  • @slinkydog2222 Libertarian - a political philosophy that upholds individual liberty, especially freedom of expression and action. Conservative - political and social philosophy that promotes the maintenance of traditional institutions and supports, at the most, minimal and gradual change in society. Are you sure you know your politics, or are ya just being hateful? I think hateful. You must of meant conservative ;-)

  • @admiralcrash1 I said liberal as in democratic, a libertarian is something totally different than a liberal dude. For example, Ron Paul is a republican but he is also a libertarian. You can try to hate on us conservatives all you want but the fact is that we're constitutional and democrats for the most part aren't. :)

  • @slinkydog2222 Main stream conservatives aren't any more constitutional than Obama is. Look at Bush the epic neocon who completely spat in the face of the constitution.

  • @mrhnm I said nothing about mainstream. Ron Paul is definately not mainstream. Bush was totally anti-constitutional and so is Obama, they both deserve to be in jail. I was talking about we the people, if you ask average democrats about their views they are totally against the 2nd amendment any way they can be and now apparently they are for anti-constitutional wars. I know bush got us in Iraq and Afghanistan but Obama is still there, got us into Libya and now he's trying to go into Iran.

  • @slinkydog2222 Ron Paul is an Actual Liberal.

  • @mrhnm He can't be because he's in the republican party running for republican presidency making him a conservative.

  • @slinkydog2222 Absolute nonsense. Conservationism is an ideology. Ron Paul is not a conservative. He is a real liberal like Thomas Jefferson or Patrick Henry or Ludwig von Mises.

  • @mrhnm If he was a real liberal he would be running in the democratic party. Ron Paul is a real patriot and believed in a Republic, not a Democracy. This country was designed to be a Republic, ex. The pledge of allegiance: And to the Republic, for which it stands...

  • @slinkydog2222 No I said real liberal because there is nothing liberal about the so called "liberals" in the democratic party.

Liberal comes from the Latin libertas meaning free of compulsion. Take back the word. Bush was a conservative, and Ron Paul is nothing like Bush. You know seeing how he doesn't suck.

  • @mrhnm Bush gave conservatives like Ron Paul a bad name. Plus it isn't about which party your affiliated with now it's if you're for the status quo or against it and i assure you I'am totally against it. Some huge changes need to happen yesterday or most of us are screwed.

  • @slinkydog2222 I am not convinced that there is still time for change. With Obama assassinating US citizens the precedent has been set towards totalitarianism. That being said I Ron Paul is awesome!

  • @mrhnm You're most likely right and that would be a total tragedy if Ron Paul got into office and couldn't single handedly solve the countries problems one by one thus everyone would probably blame him for the collapse. Ron Paul is awesome, one of the only ones that makes sense while not in the interest of coroporations but for the people like it started out and how it still should be to this day.

  • Great video, my friend. It is awesome to teach us all how to be self-sufficient and build our confidence with knowledge. Thank you for that. I would like to add one element of necessity for long term survival. It is called 'Joy'. I would put great emphasis on 'moral'. As you know, this is very important to longevity. We must come to accept the reality of our circumstance sometimes and be able to be confident to the point of joy and happiness. Confidence breeds faith, and faith; endless potential.

  • @FacetsOfTruth I meant to say; Morale..nor moral. Forgive my 3rd shift stupor. I should go to sleep now. By the way. I love all of the videos you do. They really are quite wonderful. Sorry for the typo. Jim from Ohio,,,OUT to bed.

  • WOW...and shared with us all again ..many thanks guys!!

  • Dave, that looks like a great class!! I'll have to take the basic one first. I am looking forward to them. God bless you and your family. John

    P. S. I'm looking forward to coming back to June Gathering.

  • Outstanding as always! Thanks for sharing!

  • that looked awesome. and very tiresome.

    very well put together!

  • Man I bet that was hell! Wish I could have been there! You've got more medicinal tree vids coming, right?

  • That looked awesome

  • Excellent! I hope to be in a class soon. Anthony.

  • very cool!

Any issues with trench foot? ( I think that's what it's called)

  • What would you do if someone did get bitten by a water moccasin

  • @TheW1zard12 Aside from having a First Responders as an instructor, there was an EMT and Paramedic at the class. Also, Miami-Dade County would have been the responding EMS with their specialized unit Venom One which is comprised of a highly specialized team of paramedic firefighters who are trained in response, management, and treatment of envenomations.

  • not a bad Advertisement! i'll be down in Florida teaching for 3 weeks in the swamp! my mindset is much different then yours but to each there own!

  • Cant wait to take a class from you. Gotta get the rest of the life cancer/debt off my back, thanks to jack spirco for that.

  • OMG this is so effn awsome i wish i lived near there im all the way in cali i want to take those clases :(

  • @WaKeZnDrAnKz Same here dude, I'm in so cal. I go backpacking often but don't get to test survival skills in the same way as these guys :(

  • This type of stuff should be required in 12th grade high school.

  • @Angelsigns2012

I went to a highschool where there were classes like this, they were required in the 7th and 8th grades and were electives through the rest of highschool.

  • @Angelsigns2012 naaa i want to do it but im 14

  • @Angelsigns2012 i had a science of survival class in high school. nothing extreme like this but still the best class ever.

  • @Angelsigns2012 I think that would fix 90% of the problems with people who are my age or younger, I'm 26 and amazed how so many people have never had to be self reliant for a day, or unplugged for a day.

  • Very cool!

  • nice video dave. i am 11 and i am wondering if a child can come to one of your survival classes because if they can i would go.

  • As real as it gets. Challenge Yourself and test your skills. Basic and Advanced classes are available. Carpe Diem!

  • man i wish i wish i wish

but if i were to wish in one hand and $#+t in the other i'd have nothing but a a stinking hand

  • That was really neat. They busted there ass.

  • is it me or does dave look more wildery in this vid?

  • Great vids man, im digging the beard Dave!!

  • I need to make a trip down from SC for this....cost??

  • @zombiekillerjordan looks like it's 350.00 per person.

  • THANKS FOR THIS! i live in florida and could use this very much dave!

  • Are those sticks in the bamboo crawfish trap...angled inward? is that how they get in but not out? I didn't see much of any angle on those sticks....so I'm wondering.

  • WOW I like that craw fish trap.I'm think one could make that out of a peace of PVC.

  • thanks dave and iris and all the insrtuctors for an experience ill never forget.hope to get to the next one.peace!!!

  • AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME! Looked like so much fun. I really wish I was there.

  • great vid guys

  • Everytime I see a video from you guys its in an area I miss fiercely. First it was just Ohio (I was raised in southern MI). Now it's Florida. I remember how easy it was to pull a fish outta the water; 10 minutes & something big was on the line.

  • cme on ppl more veiws more likes more every thinggggg im watching stuck in the muck love it dave keep it up BRO

  • Dave, that looks like one hell of a great time Brother! I may have to join you down there on one of these trips. The NE class was awesome, but I would love to do a swamp scenario.

  • Glad to see this wasn't just another manly hunting foray into the Florida bush. I know you guys are based up in Uh-hi-uh, but would appreciate if someone could point out the top five or ten native central and south Florida plants and trees one can use like Dave is doing with northern trees. Maybe it's too much of a specialty though?

  • thanks for the vid....looks like a blast,...

  • Do you guys ever hold any classes in Texas? If so I'd like to know when..if not but you'd like to let me know,...I have 5 people already that would like to attend

  • Maybe i should have finished watching the video huh? haha

  • Would love to play around with big bamboo. Given all the examples I've seen so far, there seems to be no end to what can be done with it.

  • Dave, where can i get some more information about where and when you will have more classes like this?

  • @Mr223forYOU Right now, I think there are two more classes in Florida scheduled on the Pathfinder website.

  • Dont use too much iodine :P
