This speedrun was never "cancelled" nor did I ever "quit." Officially, I made an attempt in 2007, wasn't satisfied with it, and put it on pause while I ventured to other games to regain interest.
I'm very much interested in returning and WILL EVENTUALLY make a dedicated speedrun, just need to quit all my jobs and get the time. :(
When it will happen though, could be this year, could be 2012. >_>;
Yeah, the trailer features footage from a concept speedrun in 2007. It originally had 10 segments with a final time of 2:42:xx (in-game timer), but one of the discs corrupted the same year and I lost the first 5 segments (which, arguably, had the most impressive footage).
Fast forward 2 years later, I'm finally getting around to clipping some of the decent footage into a trailer for those who've been waiting for this to happen for so long.
Take this as a serious sign that I'm getting very close to resuming production on my actual JSRF speedrun. I'll, at the very least, have started on it sometime this year.
Given that all this is from 2007, my standards weren't as high then, so I'm pretty disgusted with just about all the footage in at least one form. So take any "sloppiness" seen in here with a grain of salt. None of that will be in the final version.
Whether or not I use Gum/Garaham/whoever will depend upon further testing.
Ah thank god I love this game
beat it quite a few times
What would you estimate will be your final time?

The samples you're viewing are from an attempt made in 2007 that timed at 2:42:xx (using the in-game timer).
The eventual speedrun that will be produced will likely be at least 10 minutes faster, but ideally, sub-2:30:xx.
Do note that the in-game timer does include cutscenes and that there are an assload of unskippable ones! :(

I see did you quit the speed run or still going to continue it?

Ouch, seems you already are getting downvoted for committing the crime of never playing (or somehow, ever hearing of) the Jet Set Radio franchise.
Stop breathing, right now, and get a Dreamcast and play Jet Grind Radio. Won't regret it. Then track down JSRF and play the fuck out of it as well.
Will easily be the best week of your life!
