Wow, I can't believe that you waited 15 years to seek help from a Dermatologist. I suffer from DH myself. It took me about three years after my daughter was born to seek help. For those three years my family physician kept saying it was Eczema. I swear they gave me every cream/ointment under the sun. Like I said I broke down and couldn't take the ugliness on my skin anymore. When I found a Dermatologist in my area he took a look at me. They ran test and did a Biopsy. That doc is a fool!
I'm having the same problem. Doctors are EXTREMELY LAZY when it comes to skin disease. If they can't throw medicine at it they want nothing to do with it. They just throw creams and medicine at you but have no interest in finding out what's causing the problem. Have you tried DAPSONE and if so, did you experience any side effects?
Allopathic doctors (M.D.s) are just no good at things like linking food and disease. You're much better off going to an alternative practitioner like a naturopath (who actually studied nutrition in school).
I found out that I was allergic to gluten (as well as dairy) by taking a hair mineral analysis. You can get the kits online even and don't have to deal with idiot doctors who just take your money and give you attitude.
It is really hard to find an HONEST doctor. I am sorry you are going through this....I am due to go to Mayo after waiting for a year...to be tested for CVID....
Anyway...I have dealt with some dumb ass doctors with there head up there ass so far.....
Jesus....I just hope you feel better soon...and as far as you eating raw....it will make you...very emotional ...very RAW !!
Gah! I mostly have disdain for doctors as well - I have chronic cystitis and am trying my best to find a preventative without using antibiotics. When I tell doctors I've had probably about 40 infections they still don't seem to think I know what I am talking about. I am sure I know more than they do.
Good luck with your rash. I would go to a naturopath/holistic doctor. I dunno how much those will cost in the states but in Canada we still have to pay since they are not covered by insurance :(
I know how you feel I had a swollen belly for a year and after about $50,000 in insurance expenses it was e-coli. My doctor tested for gluten during and upper and lower G.I. I think a Gastro doctor may be able to help you. I know your frustration. I would have wiped that rash all over his f-ng coat. Hang in there girl.
Wow, I sooooo agree with you!!! I was laughing so hard at your sarcasm, but the truth of the matter is, that its not funny and your condition is obviously serious if its been there for so long. Its absolutely ridiculous that he couldnt even do a test on you. I hate going to the drs now. Its so pointless. I pray that you do find a place where they can test you properly. Take care Bunny
Hi Bunny! I think it's all been said, but I'm gonna go with Jane (jsorensens2)on this one. I hope you can find another doc and tell the doc that referred you what a DORK this guy was! I did my exercise yesterday, true to my word! A 40 minute walk. It's not much, but it's a start! Have a great weekend & don't give up. There are some good docs out there! ~Amy
bunny -- you might want to google for a local allergy clinic in your area - we have one that will test for single substances for $15.00 each - and yes you can test for gluten too - if you do you might want to test for yeast and wheat also - that was a poor excuse for a dr - i think i wld tell your reg doc about him - most REAL MDs love a challenge - sounds like he's on a low salary and not much initiative to excel in his field - guess anyone can hang a shingle nowadays -- good luck sweetie!!
You are so funny, you're great:) Since you would like to know for yourself in the future, I'd call a few dermatologists offices and ask if they have the capability to do a glutin intolerance test and ask how many do they do on a regular basis.
it would be my guess that if ya stick with the raw food diet long enough then the rash thing will totally disapear and you wont need the advise of an educated idiot .
Bunny, Bunny, Bunny. If you weren't so damn funny and cute I wouldn't be laughing, but you turn even a crappy situation into something to smile about. The doc is an idiot. Ignore him and (dare I say this) go to another one! My sister saved her son's life by getting another doc's opinion, and then forced them to test in an atypical area. Lo and behold the cancer was where it usually isn't!! I KNOW you'll hook up with the right doc. I KNOW it. Love your ending!!
I'm sorry I always post before I see the whole video. That guy sounds dumber than usual for a doctor. I say shop around, enquire at a few more places to see whether they do that test.

Completely gone since cutting out all gluten! Raw foods rule.

The Biopsy should be done on the skin NEXT to the sore. Not from the sore itself. I have DH.
I had LOTS of bad medical care due to doctors not understanding this disease.
I use diet and avoid most chances of gluten cross contamination as much as possible, rather than using Dapsone.
I have even changed my entire lifestyle as it seems the older I get, the effects of gluten were worse.
Thanks for posting this great video!

Go on the Atkins diet for a few weeks.
This works as an elimination diet. I was 90% cured within a week. Turned out to be citrus fruits and bread...could be the yeast.
Acupunture is helpful too.
Elbow is a givaway....this is mostly bread, hands mostly citrus.
I do not like the sound of your dermatologist, I have no respect for them. Let's curse them with the diseases they refuse to acknowledge.

Ha ha that was so funny, I was thinking it was a pretty building for a dermatologist.

It was a nice dentists office! They had a great fish tank. Very peaceful. I mean, besides the drilling and the suction! :)
