The main problem im having is it's all slow....and the sound is choppy... like when it first loads th music on title scream it's choppy..and keeps cutting in and out and it's lagging...If I send you a picture that I have the game....can you send me your ePSXe?
@Disgaealikerasap I do not remember my settings. I uploaded this video back in 2007... but its pretty easy to configurethe epsxe. Choose the wizard guide and you will have no problem. Be sure you will download the bios fles for the psx and the necessary plug ins. It sounds complicated but its pretty simple.

Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Xenogears. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
I made the horrible mistake of watching this before beating the game!!! Oh well... I technically quit in some weird labyrinth thing anyway, just got too damn confusing! (back then)
And about fanworks and Xenogears... frankly, the story (more like stories) of this game is so inspiring that I think it's really one of those works you never will get tired of explore (in a lot of ways... personally, I like to change some stuff in my mind and my drawings because I think some parts of the game or the way things were told were not the way I wanted... I stick to canon the best I can but I like to play with the story or the artstyle... that's what I'm trying to say).
I don't believe what is in the bible... it's myths and legends mixed with some historical facts to me. The messages in it are what matters.
But Xenogears isn't so different... it's a fiction based on some real stuff and many fictional works. I like the criticism of religious cults/organization because it can be very true. This game might seem offensive to religion but I think it's not. The WE can be interpretated as God and Sophia promoted inner faith... this is not offensive.
What I find interesting is Freud's influence in Xenogears. Every time my psych teacher brought up "id" (I believe it was one of the layers of subconsciousness) I thought of Xenogears. XD
Fei IS ID. He can't be better than Fei, he is Fei. What you really mean to say is that he's better than the construct personality created during his three years in Lahan and subsequent journey around the world.
the thing about ffvii's sequels wasnt that there were so many, it was the fact that they stupidly retconned things, clearly contradicting things that happened in the original game, and they reverted to calling Aeris, Aerith, which just sounds like u are a retard with a lisp.
i agree...the sequels didnt really follow up with FF7 and were a heap of confusion and poorly planned plot ideas. i mean in Dirge of Cerberus vincent's objective gets drastically changed and it's almost like he isnt vincent but someone else completely.
that is most certainly true, a common trend with big corporate companies who become blinded by greed and become too money driven.. a shame that even the gaming industry is losing credibility
When I watched my favorite scene in FF7 in crisis core's version the nibelheim scene five years prior (in ff7). I was both awed and dissapointed. Awed by the fact they nearly got everything right and made it almost better than the original scene. Disappointed by the fact that they left out that infamous quote by cloud "Mom, Tifa My hometown Give it back!!" That's why to me a remake would make sense for FF7 but also further complicate things. I'm just happy to play the original game.
The sound is SO off in this vid, but yeah, it was pretty awesome whenever Fei just went Id. I wish you got to control him in a fight though...an epic boss battle where both you and the boss had gears with like millions of hp and you did hundreds of thousands of damage per attack? Sorry, just an idea of mine that's stuck with me. Would be awesome though.
Fei didn't... truly scream like that XD (heh, they gave a proper scream for Ramsus, after all), did he !!!?? I need to replay the game.
I have to say something... okay, Xenogears has an amazing and complex storyline... and a lot of people go crazy for FF7... but I don't think that complexes stories are the key to masterpieces (I played the games, loved Xenogears, just liked FF7... and while people are saying that once you've played them, you can't find better experiences... well I disagree).
It this moment and THIS MOMENT ONLY that I realized... Oh my goodness. Im totally a Nerd. Thats whats cool now, theres alot of nerds but we take all forms nowadys you cant tell. Theres guys on football teams andd wrestlers who dont just get excited they go Ape shit over Xenogears or whatever their poison of choice is
I noticed some confusion of the topic of Id's gear. It's nanomachines that transform it. "Perfect Works" goes into detail explaining how nanomachines were used in this game, Weltal's Id formation is one of these uses.
To back this up I'll quote a translated passage:
"Wetall's concealed technology was released with nanotechnology. System Id (special Gear ability) can be activated at will."
For Weltall-2 yes for Wel-tall no, Weltall was rebuilt into Weltall-2 with taura's nano machines and also a suppressant for fei to be able to unlock Weltall-2's System-Id. Originally Weltall was an advanced gear ordered (by grahf) to be built with a series of black boxes known later as ether amplifiers (specifically for fei when he would become id) it didn't have nano machines untill after ramsus trashed it when it was later rebuilt into wel-tall 2
that sounds about right, also nanomachines were used in everyone's advanced model of gears just like the improved version weltall-2 but fei's was a special case with system Id so that he can utilize it more efficiently and control it...
yeah, in order for the team to combat or even damage deus taura fitted all the gears with nanomachine "dissassemblers" that break down the nano machines utterly providing a method to destroy the angel regular enemies in merkavah and deus
thats what i always thought about it...the regular gears werent powerful enough to damage them and deus because of the substance they are made out of or that they fact the angel beings were spiritual and the nanomachines were needed to penetrate through their spiritual substance...atleast this my interpretation of it...i'm no means an expert in xenogears' story because there is quite a lot of plot twists in it.
This is THE moment of Xenogears. Certainly this game and Final Fantasy VII are the two most important RPGs of all time. None has reach the high standard of storyteling these two have.
"Names... do not matter. But if you insist... Id."
It doesn't mean they're exactly the same person, even if they are from the same existence, but yeah it's really similar so I'm not saying you're totally wrong (^ω^) I agree that Abel being who he is can only really be Abel existing as an anti-deus XD
@VagueTheory not at all, grahf took id as his future body, as he thought that recovering the original body of the contact, would make him whole again. he was just raising Id until he was ready for the change
That's correct... However, I don't feel like Id = Fei and Grahf = Lacan is totally correct. IMO, it's more like Grahf/Id represent the bad feelings (anger, sadness...) of Lacan/Fei (who are more peacemakers than real psycho). If you really think about it, Grahf is a ghost, a reminder of Lacan's despair. Lacan, however, is dead (and reincarnated now into Fei). They're infortunate creations of Fei/Lacan's mind... who kinda turned against them. After all, they both want to "replace" Fei.
@RadicalDreamer17 Grahf IS Lacan though....when he made an imcomplete contact with Zohar he transformed into Grahf and released the Diabolos Corps. He later ditched his physical body and became a kind of spirit who inhabits the bodies of others...but he is Lacan.
Well, yes... It's as if Fei died and Id remained as an evil spirit...
In Disk 2, Grahf said he may have inherited Lacan's will but he's not the same as the Contact Lacan. But he also said they're still half of each other. Another case of personality disorder maybe.
But I just think it's important to make the difference between Lacan and Grahf because some people don't understand how The Contact/Lacan could be reborn if Grahf was still Lacan, that's all.
I get all nerdy too when I think of this game. This and Final Fantasy 7, in my opinion, is the pinacle of RPGs. There have been great ones since but I would consider these 2 the standard bearers of great storytelling RPGs. R.I.P. Squaresoft.
i love this game although i played it when i was about 12 years old, i didn't fully understand everything that was going on in the plot. but this is a must for any RPG fan!
ok well if you read it oficially then its the truth but I personally cant recall nanomachines being mentioned in game but they were mentioned a lot in xenosaga.
atleast thats what I always thought and I think the gear transformed to red because id is almost like a different person and the gear corresponds to the pilot, just like with the xenogear and fei but nanomachines are a high possibility but I'm not exactly sure either.
if I remember right system id was an artificial way of using id weltall without having fei turn into the real id which was why its called system id I believe. I think it was said in game by citan at one point, but like you said, the blue took after fei and red took after id.
Pissed me off when they were all like. "With this bracelet you can control ID's power and use his gear!" I'm expecting to use the bad ass red gear with the Green Wave Existance wings. N I get the same old Weltall a bit buffer with Yellow spikes.... -_- probably the only dissapointment I had with the game because Xenogears more then made up for it...Even though you only got it for like the last part of disk 2
seriously like when you go to the menu to change in to "id mode" i thougth it ment you could change into the read gear. WHAT A RIP! but the game was still awesome

Actually they're not exactly the same let me correct this.
Abel survived the crash.
Lacan was reborn as Abel's reincarnation.
Lacan became Grahf he took off the reincarnation cycle.
Fei is another reincarnation of Abel, amidst his childhood he became Id.
