Actually, she's not a bad rider at all. She's staying steady with her hand. She COULD push him into the contact more with a stronger leg. But he looks sensitive(hence less leg), and looks as if she released he would go about and make many more mistakes than he did. As for the rails. The horse is jumping them like the cross country jumps. Flat. Some horses couldn't keep a rail up on cross country if they TRIED. You can't blame her for riding HER horse they way she feels he needs to be ridden.
I'm definitely not saying I could make it around that course, those jumps are way too big for me, but I really don't think that horse and rider team are suited to the tight, twisty indoor jumping events. Outdoors, with more space, I don't know, I'd need to see how the horse goes with more room to move, but if he's not light up front in confined spaces, I'd imagine he's not really ready for high levels yet. The horse needs more time schooling. You need good collection before you start jumping.
Tbh i think she did pretty good, getting this good at jumping and going this far. She didnt do very good cause she was holding the horse back, the horse doesnt exactly look easy to ride. At some places its running to the fence and at some its napping. And look at the reins at 0:32 + 0:11 i dont think those reins could be any looser and still have control of the horse. So stop critisising her, shes done well to get this far and is probably a far better rider than any of you.
omg she doesn't give head as the horse goes over the jump!!!!!!!! and she doesn't turn his head in sometimes!!!!!!!!!!! good god lady!!!!!!!! go back to beginers class!!!!!!!!
I have to agree with you, xoToxicJumper and macsqDressage8 - way too flat. Looks like she's relying on all hand to control him, and it makes him drop his shoulders in front of every fence. He looks like a horse that could naturally move pretty light in the front and jump well, I wonder if maybe in an outdoor setting with more room, she wouldn't be as fussy on his mouth and would let him lift his back and shoulders...
You can hardly call this eventing; there is no gallop, about half of those jumps aren't solid, and the course isnt tricky at all. This is like C-grade showjumping. And i would hate to to ride to that music.
0:17 was rlly bad

This lady rides her horse extremely crooked, thats why she messes up so much! Ugh..

@xoToxicJumper also add in the fact that she had next to no impulsion and the horse obviously is a lazy show jumper
macsqDressage8 3 months ago
@macsqDressage8 Yeah very true. She rides him very flat and strung out, no wonder he knocks rails!
xoToxicJumper 3 months ago
@xoToxicJumper i wonder how he goes on an actual cross country course...
macsqDressage8 3 months ago
@macsqDressage8 Yeah really.. If he gallops that flat and strung out he probably hits a jump and flips nearly every time..

Does she even give a release? And why no 2-point? Maybe they would of had a clear round then.

Such a lovely atmostphere! shame about all the poles down though!

the whole reason I love cross country is because you're out in the fresh air with room to gallop. This is showjumping with solid, natural jumps.
