The game gives a perfect chance for the "not musically endowed" to play. The tutorial bits lay out the beats in terms that are easy to swallow. A lot of the games are also based on simple "listen and repeat" concepts (Shoot 'Em Up, Moai Doo-Wop). You can't bash on a game because you suck at it.
I would like to see some more challenging and technical levels for those who play an instrument, though.
I think he's using an emulator, which is why he sucks. I've NEVER had trouble with the flicking motion. Also, OHMAIGOD Mario doesn't tell you exactly how you failed! And you can't skip every single level! Therefore it sucks!
You know, I suck at Sonic. I think I'll write a bad review about it.
if you suck at the game, you shouldn't be reviewing it. i can't sing, dance, or play instruments but i can at least listen to a beat. moreover, he said you can't skip some stages. duh, you're not supposed to skip remixes since those are the equivalent of boss stages. normally i don't get so defensive over a game but if he made some logical points other than how he sucks and just wants to skip levels if they're too hard, i wouldn't have cared. but he's taking off points for the little stuff.
Also you can't skip a total of THREE levels: Built to Scale (if you can't beat that, don't play the game), Remix 6 (you've had 29 games to learn how to play, besides it's right before the credits) and Remix 10 (which you don't have to beat).
Though, in all honesty, Remix 6 is kind of a beast. It's probably the level I took the longest time to beat, rivaled even remotely only by Rhythm Rally 2 and Remix 8.
I would rate it lower. There is a difference between difficulty and frustration. I don't know about you guys, but waiting 30 seconds to see I lost, go back to the title screen, close whatever message is always popping up, watching the video intro, madly pressing "Skip" on the beginning tutorial, only to miss a beat by 10 miliseconds and then starting over the cycle again, isn't my idea of "fun".
And don't say I'm a failure, or have no motor skills or whatever, because I've been playing drums for three years in the middle school band, and piano since I was in kindergarten.
So, are you saying that the original megaman games suck because you get really far, get a game over and have to start over the level? Sure, having to restart is tedious, but you don't have to be exactly precise....
The original Megaman games atleast had a fun factor to them... I don't know about anyone else, but this game really wasn't fun enough for me to even want to continue when there was an impossible level. :\
The game deserves at least a 8.5. If a game is hard, that doesn't mean that it should lose points. Besides, the controls are perfect, with no problems.
This reviewer is simply nuts. THIS is the kind of games i'd like to see on the DS more often, instead of that bunch of rushed, half-assed ports. It's not so difficult either, I went trhu the first 6 remixes in 2 days or so. All you need is good sense of rythm and (most importantly) master the flick. Actually in the video you can see he is doing it too slow. My score: 10. 'nuff said.
You're calling an official GameSpot reviewer "nuts" because he had trouble and frustration with a video game? :\ Also, I don't think this game is a *10*, it really isn't within the ranks of Ocarina of Time, Super Smash Bros Brawl, and other 10-pointers.
So, the game is too hard for this guy, then he lowers the score just because of that? And let me tell you, controls work perfectly if know how to use them (and, being just 3 input commands, anyone but this guy should be able to use them).
Don't listen to gamespot, this game is a 9.0 at least.

There's no way he could flick that fast, or accurately, on an emulator, trust me. That's probably internal recording or such.

What is your favorite minigame? Mine is either munchy monk or space soccer.

That's true. Still, you can skip almost every level, and the unskippable ones typically aren't too hard.

Then again, Gamestop wrong most of the time.

Ok, seriously. The ability to go along with the beats to this song should be second nature to anyone who is mentally retarded.
That being said, the reviewer is clearly mentally retarded for not being able to go along with the beats and blaming it on 'Faulty Controls'.
How about they get someone to review who DOESN'T have the motor skills of an infant?
