  • you learned this by yourself. pretty goddamn good man!

  • nice licks, brother !

  • I left this song on my GF's voice mail letting her know we're threw. No muss, no fuss. 8)

  • thats honestly spot on, note for note. awesome

  • its so simple, but it sounds so damn good. excellent work. this is one of the best feel good songs of all time. sometimes its those simple yet meaningful notes that sound better.

  • Totally Awesome, I wish i could play!

    I love this song!!!

  • awesome! I love this song, I can remember listening to it on a "45" YEARS ago! Those of you older know what I'm talking about..I played it over and over..with the little yellow disc for the turntable player. I love the lead in the song..Glenn Frey rules!

  • hey can you tell me what tabs you used?

  • No tabs. I learned this on my own when I was about 15 or 16 years old.

  • nice

  • Next SD pickup you might want to try is STK-S2 Hot Stack. Doesn't have tapping...don't think. But will deliever alittle more classic rock/heavy blues tone. Simplified. But you better be precise, it makes the strings more unforgiving.

  • Do you find is difficult to get the hotrails to sound like a strat? I've bought one but i'm concerned it won't sound like a strat tone at all...

  • The hotrails has a coil tapping ability, read the instructions when you get yours, I recommend looking into using it.

The full hotrails, wired in series, has a much fatter tone than a standard single coil stratocaster pickup, but if you utilise the coil tapping ability with a selector switch you might be able to get two tones for the price of one.

    Good luck.

  • how do u find the compound radius cause personaally im not 2 much of a fan of flat fingerboard but is this different

  • At last a jmp1 user in this site who plays for music and not only to show how great is its amp or guitar, thx for the show !!

  • Very enjoyable listening. How do you think that the original guitarist created that electo-mechanical burst of noise on around the third verse, (2:40) or so?

    Anyway, great post.

  • I actually thought that was an unintended chime by Felder. Just my two pennies. I have rarely ever been able to replicate that. Some of the best riffs that go onto tape are accidental. ;)

  • Steuart Smith did in calgary in 2002 somehow

  • Great tone havin' fun

  • oh just read your spec haha

    sounds great good job.

  • that sounds awesome wat amp is that your playin thru?

  • Excellent work. I came on Youtube looking for the infamous dueling guitars of Walsh and Felder... found a lot of it but was pleasantly surprised by this as well.

  • i was considering buying a Jekyll & Hyde pedal how good aren they?

  • one of the best overdrive/distortion pedal out there!!

  • To note: The only time you actually hear the Jekyll & Hyde pedal in this particular video/song is during the guitar solo. :)

  • nice playing. its great that i found this video because a just ordered a SD Hot rails for the bridge in my strat. Thanks for the video! Now I know exactly what it sounds like.

  • Actually, the secondary guitar part is someone else, this song pre-dates Walsh's arrival to the band. Can't remember the guy's name off the top of my head, though. But yes, the foreground guitar track I'm playing was done by Don Felder.

  • Bernie Leadon

  • Bernie Leadon and Glenn Frey actually both play,Glenn taking the less intricate stuff.

  • hot rails is the best pickup, great tone!

  • 60's-70's headstock

    my favorite

  • thats awesome dude i wish icould do that

  • the more i listen to this song the more i fall in love with it!!!!!! lately i find sexy!!!!

  • Nicely done!

  • the live version by the eagles on farewell tour doesn`t have that much guitar work.

  • ...but the studio version does!!!!

  • know any place where i can get the complete tab for the studio version???

  • I actually learned this by ear about 15 years ago. The version you see here, anyway. If I get time I can try and translate it to tabs. Can't promise anything, though, been busy working.

  • Hey dude you're awesome and I would also love to see a tab for this song. Thanks man

  • that`s really nice!!!! always loved the song, especially the guitar work!!!!
