  • So sweet harmless little Luna was actually one hell of an egotistic bitch when she was a goddess, who knew?

  • Was brainwashed Luna voiced by Jennifer Hale? It sounds just like her!

  • on the back of the cd case for this game it shows ghaleon in your party as a 6th party member fighting the black dragon with you but i dont remember doing that... was that in story complete or something because i never played that even then...why was it on the back of the sega cd case

  • This game was truly magical when it came out. I remember getting goosebumps during the cut scenes. Having actual dialogue in a game wasn't extremely common before the Sega CD.

  • so this was 1992 and EB 1994

  • IS THERE AN WORKING SEGA SD EMULATOR THAT WILL PLAY THIS?!?!?1 I need 2 know

  • So remind me, was there an alternate ending if you got there without using the harp? I never tried that.

  • @ZeonTwilight - Nope, no alternate ending. I guess you could have tried making your way up there by just using healing herbs but I dont think you'd have enough room in your inventory to keep healing yourself until the end lol....

  • @liquidpolicenaut Even though I beat Lunar Legend (GBA) after years of abandonment, I feel the original ending of this Lunar: The Silver Star game has been the more fitting ending -- if anything, for the credit scenes and music! Very befitting. Thank you very much.

  • @jyras4747 It's funny. I'm almost 31 now and I played this game over 15 years ago and I still get a little choked up during the ending montage -- particularly seeing Jessica get reunited with her dad (they had a really cool relationship) and Mia and Nash studying magic together (though the music that plays then may be responsible for some of that). I remember being happy for the characters but really sad that I wouldn't be seeing more of them.

  • @peoswriter1

It's nostalgic man. I still remember vane falling from the sky. 17 years ago for me.

  • @peoswriter1 you took the text right out of my keyboard. I feel exactly the same way it was an epic game that I wish never ended.

  • @liquidpolicenaut I could have sworn I read somewhere that there was an alternate ending if you beat the game never using the harp on Luna.

But I may have just dreamed it. Guess if I wanna know I'll have to beat the game myself.

  • @ZeonTwilight I tried this once, and if you get to the point where the cutscene usually begins, the lightning strikes you to death in one hit and there's no way to prevent it. Game over. Kind of a let-down after defeating Ghaleon.

  • @ZeonTwilight I beat this game a few days ago, and Alex took 288 points of damage with each bolt, I kept healing all the way until I got real close, and then she killed me in one hit, so basically, you HAVE to use the harp or it's game over.

  • @dezoriajin Ahh, well there ya go. Shame really, would have been a pretty sweet easter egg to have an alternate ending. But I guess it makes sense ^_^

  • Uh...... What about Ghaleon's "true form"? Aren't you supposed to fight him? I remember watching my dad play this game when I was like four. So much of it is coming back to me. But I understand why they did a remake.

  • @Iwatchethewatchmn - You remember correctly about Ghaleon's "True Form". I just had to edit the actual fight due to the YouTube time limit...

  • i have this game... and the sequal on sega cd and they work fine

  • Oh man...what a throwback to the good old days of gaming. Watching this brought back so many memories! Thanks for posting; they sure do not makes games like they used to...

  • I Love it. Be sure to check out my channel for my Lunar and other vintage gaming playthroughs, cheats, hints, tips and more!

  • Love this game, glad I never got rid of it. The original Lunar is a lot easier than the remakes, due to the ease of leveling characters. The sequel was great as well, or so I believe.

  • IIRC, the "Oops, too long" at the end meant you took too long to beat the game, and as a result you did not unlock the sound test at the end of the game.

  • The "oops, too long" was just a random bit of leftover outtakes from the voice recording sessions. That's all it was. There was no sound test in TSS. It didnt really even need it since all you have to do to listen to the soundtarck is pop the cd itself into an audio cd player and all the tracks come up...

Since Working Designs seemed to think it was funny, they included a good amount of outtakes after the end credits when you beat Lunar Eternal Blue..

  • @liquidpolicenaut you are correct sir!

  • lol "dragon boy"....

  • "Oops....Too long" Its part of the outtakes I think. sound like jessica's voice actor.

  • whats the point of this "ups to long"? Its on all 7 different disc's of this game. In the Japanese Version there are also a strange noise at the end.

  • what does the female voice saying at the end? "ups .. to long"?

  • 0:56 o_0 luna is really creepy there

  • " Oops too long ? "

xD I sure don't remember that

  • Wow...I always waited until she mentioned the song before playing my harp -- all that needless healing on the way up LOL!

    I sure miss this game.

  • Wow...I always waited until she mentioned the song before playing my harp -- all that needless healing on the way up LOL!

    I sure miss this game.

  • why does Ghaleon have to sound like Darth Vader when he wears his helmet and then sound different when he takes it off? Really........

  • I had the great chance to play the ps1 version when I was like 7-8ish but I never even saw the Sega version which really sucks. . .

  • PLAY IT!

  • Lol, I wish I could, but I don't even know where I could buy it! *for a cheap price* And even if I did get it, I'd need to buy the console!

  • Download an emulator and the roms and the bios files.

  • This ending is complete shit compared to the PS1 version lol I'm sorry

  • how differnt is this version to the ps1 and are they goin to change stuff in the psp lunar game comin out i hope not

  • this part of the game was fun XD

  • Ashley Angel's voice was better suited for Alex on the newer version as he got older but here he just sounded too young. But the cast was still awesome in the newer one and John Truitt just kicks ass all around

  • Best game ever.

  • SSSC ending was so muche better , this one just...stops and rolls the credits.

  • sega cd version...one of the best fucking games ever.

  • Absofuckinglutely

  • This version is hot!

  • My first RPG. Best.Game.Ever.

  • Same here, I had no idea what I was getting into when I first picked this up

  • At 7:54 Jessica looks like Pricess Zelda :P

  • @Darkwolf103 she does and a hot one at that

  • Heyyyy! He keeps his Dragonmaster powers in this version! That actually makes sense, seeing as how Dragonmaster Alex is supposed to be in history books. Combine that with the PS1 ending of Alex and Luna planning to adventure together, and you have continuity and logic!

  • 6:55 = Ramus the pimp.

  • 8:55?

  • exactly WTF rasmus is PIMP

  • P.I.M.P.

  • I thought the same thing at 7:16 too. She's just talking and he has this big grin on his face the whole time!

  • I just finished this game on my PSP using PicoDrive (genesis/scd emulator)! This is so freaking awesome, you people should try it before you flame it saying the remake is better - of course it is, but this is the ORIGINAL game, the real mccoy! Go try it dudes

  • So thats why Ghaleon's skin around his left eye is strange in Eternal Blue

  • Great ending, I liked it, SSSC may have had more, but as a Lunar Fan, this is just as good.

  • wow, this ending sucks... SSSC is much better

  • back then systems didn't have graphics out the ass, this was awesome in 93

  • lol its not the graphics... its too short

  • I remember finally finishing this game and feeling the ending could have been better. I mean, with the length of the game, they could have made it a little more rewarding and wrapped things up a little better... oh well. :p

  • I LOVE this game~!!! I want it for my Sega CD!!! Actually I have a Sega CDX.

  • Awesome ending to a classic game. And all the idiots posting "OMG this suxs so bad", for the time this was awesome.

  • Wow that was pretty bad compared to the remake at least as far as the ending is concerned. But I know back then in 92-94 seeing any kind of animation and voice work made it impressive

  • Wow, this scene is so bad compared to the remake. Nevertheless thanks for posting, I was always curious what the Sega CD was like.

  • Thanks for posting this! All I could find was the Saturn ones. This was the orignal and the best version and I hate I sold this game to Funcoland. *tear*

  • "Alex, she's a woman like any other... well, okay, not EXACTLY like any other... she's a little more deadly... But the point I'm trying to make is that you can reach her with your love. At least, that's what I'm scripted to say at this point... A good spanking is what I'd really try first..."

It doesn't matter what Lunar 1 game it is, Kyle's always a hoot! XD

  • nothing is better than the original sega cd lunar and the music is some of the best i've ever heard , this game is the only reason i own a sega cd system

  • I agree. I didn't care for the revamped score for the remake. Nothing beats the original Lunar Sega CD battle theme. That's just pure awesomeness in itself!

  • stupid ass purists. The PS1 version is so much better

  • It has nothing to do with being a purist. I enjoyed the PS1's story and graphics more, but the original's music kicked SSSC's ASS! Just more memorable, IMO.

  • i played silver star story complete, u should too it is just better
