I think the point of this COMEDY is to point out that all the things that the so-called Religious Right condemn Obama for, are things that Jesus would have probably done... You're right in that greed causes many to stumble. But, David, Job, Abraham, etc were praised for their virtue and blessed in worldly things. They were NOT then told they had to give it all away to still be considered righteous. They were pre-Christ, it was still the same God at work.

The disciples were told to drop everything and follow Christ, but that was for a specific mission for a specific duration.

We need to help the needy, but not everyone with their hand out today is needy.

The problem with having wealth and being a good Christian is that if you have wealth then you have it in the face of the poverty of others. You, in your wealth, could go online and make charitable donations to reputable organizations that work for the relief and development of third world communities which have almost nothing.
