Yes my soul HAS been psychedelisized.....first heard this in The Clockwork Orange When I was 6 and my mom said come on, sit down, let's watch a movie together......LOL!
What was the San Francisco radio that would play this follow with a long silence , a deep breath, then on to Music From The Morning of the World without saying anything. It was the best station ever!

@endari you are so right on! This is a song & album that was as if made for me & my friends. Along with groups such as Lee Michaels, Love, Doors, Azteca, early Blues & later Hendrix & Cream, made our lives listening to music so magical. Such a special time. Our studio (totally soundproof) had similar wonderful drawings & the picture of the clouds - WOW! - they look like the ones I used to view from laying on the back yard lawn. Lovely memories!

Not necessarily true. A lot of people love 60's music even though they weren't even born until much later. You can have a different perspective and still enjoy great music.
ycanada...you WERE transported to Another Dimension, on a Journey Throughout Time and Space, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone......you WERE.....PSYCHEDELICIZED !!!!
Listened to this song for the first time while driving on a dark stretch of the transcanada highway between Montreal and Toronto the only light comes from the satellite radio. This song blares and provides a surreal backdrop as the song has transported me to another dimension, the car now seems to be floating in the darkness while the road moves.
One of my favorites of all time.....it was on the radio all over San Diego along with the Stones and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap (sold more albums than the Beatles in '68)...I used to dance at the Quad Room in Clairmont to the Gap before they went big time...I saw the Stones w/ Ike and Tina Turner in SD in '69...tickets were $13.
miss you brothr chambers ....momm s gone i felt us too but T amika showed me that you could bein Hawaii and still live . thenk you for my time and mostly your time/......lauren thiney
This song kicks ass. I watch the Music Choice channels on TV and caught this and it's great. I read on Wiki that Columbia president didn't like this and they snuck in and recorded this anyway! It was/is a hit...up yours Columbia.
There has never been a song that I've listened to as much as I've listened to this one. I play it over and over again, just as much now as I did when it first came out. Brian Keenan's drumming is absolutely amazing. It's so sad that he passed away so young. Everything is good in this song, but Brian's drumming definitely makes the song. I also love the lead singer's voice.
I love the music but would rather see pics of the Brothers then the art. But like Lester's daughter in NY always says I have my opinions when I only asked that Jerome Brailey be added to the Brothers MySpace and FB pages and disrupted the funeral of Mama Chambers. Shame on her, this is a family who I have known before she was ever conceived.
ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. NOT JUST THE 60'S. THIS SONG REPRESENTS A CHANGING OF THE WORLD ORDER AND A NEW DIRECTION FOR THIS PLANET THAT WE CALL EARTH. A DEFINING MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!! POWERFUL FOR THOSE WHO WERE THERE. PEACE.
Thanks MY MAN !!! For putting this together, Saw these guys a few times , It was my favortie tune when I was 9 years old specially the long version.....

It all came together in this classic. I put it up there with Bethoven's 9th Symphony and Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull. Peace.

Love the Chambers Brothers! One of my all time fave bands from the sixties. Man was I having fun when I first heard these songs. thanks for posting it.
@ketchfish •My post from a month ago: “Brilliant music for everything around the love generation, Vietnam, social equality, and whatever else which brought us to now. Time Has Come Today. Thanks for the post.” My point was that I have never found them on the 100 best in rock, 1960’s decade, or any other recognized list of “super famous.” COUNTLESS other brilliant musicians never became “super famous” for who know why. View “The Story of Anvil” for just another example. Best wishes.
first song I remember hearing when I hit Vietnam in June 1968. Today is the first time I've listened to it all the way through since. The ghosts are still there.
The Chamber Brothers changed the way I looked at the world. Magical is the word I must often use to discribe their music. It hits you right in the soul and makes it feel good.
I look forward to this song on my walking playlist. It marks the halfway mark of my 5-mile-a-day walk. The cadence changes keep it interesting. It's not fast enough to jog to; but I usually walk backwards during the the very slowest segment. Nothing like a little variety.
I was of induction age and Vietnam loomed large on my horizon, so I tried to escape it by enlisting in the Navy. (Vietnam was a surface war.) I geeked through the written tests (electronics guaranteed, and right to test for nuke) and was in excellent physical shape, but my pulse was too high (60 at home, 104+ at AFEES).
I was the ripe old age of 10 when I first heard this song. I was instantly addicted. This song has such meaning for me and many happy memories of my childhood.
Hi, I'm Vinnie. I grew up in Brooklyn. During the late 60's we hung out at the Electric Circus on St. Marks Place in the Village. The Chambers Brothers played there quite often. It was a memorial time for me and my friends that came from all over NYC to hang out and be part of the audience for The Chambers Brothers. It was an honor and privelege to have known them and to have hung out with them!
did i spell psyodelsized right? i am 65 came out of the NAM dropped LSD heard this song went to a club that was just 2 min away took me a day and a half to get to the club when i got to the club it was closed. so i dropped more LSD. made it to my apart. put the song on again and saw green carnaries
I'm 63 and living on the island of Kauai. I love it, but would give anything to have a time machine and go back to UT, Austin, 1969-71. Aloha and Peace.
Varlito is right. This is one of the best songs of the late sixties and early seventies. I was able to receive the Chambers Brothers a lot easier than I did Jimi Hendrix. and am glad for the distraction. This album made it into my collection along with much Beach Boys, Beatles and Rolling Stones and a decent serving of early Motown greats like Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves, Jr. Walker & the Allstars. There was a thing going on during the sixties and seventies. It was easy to catch good music.
MORE COWBELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! When this song came out I dropped 2 hits of acid and listened to it 17, 233 times in a row ..now I am 64 and drop 2 ant acids and listen to it 2 or 3 times :)~
Man this was my favorite song growing up in Miami. I must have been 8 or 9, one of my older brother's freinds ask me what my favorite songs were, I answered Sugar, Sugar by the Archies and Time Has Come Today by the Chambers Brothers...took me a long time to figure out why after hearing my answer he started cracking up at me.
thanks... i was a hartford resident... we proclaimed peace... before it happenned... not like watts and the WARK as in new... great tune one up from get ready by Rare earth...peace bro...
Awesome times, awesome concerts up until the 90s,when greed and bubblegum acts with a pretty face like katy perry that dont have enough material to cover a standard concert time of 2 hours showed up. Time has come today to bring back talent over powderpuff american idol
Hello. I first heard this on a TV show. It was some contest. Bobby Goldsboro was also in it. Chambers won it. I then saw them in Vancouver. The place went crazy. This was a fantastic time for some people. It must have been horrible for all the Vietnamese people, and the young people forced to go there to kill, or get killed. Its insane that we cant learn to stop killing. But songs like this woke lots of people up. Wish the whole world would wake up. Stop killing.
Brilliant music for everything around the love generation, Vietnam, social equality, and whatever else which brought us to now. Time Has Come Today. Thanks for the post.
This song brings back many fond memories. Yes there were drugs involved, it was the 60's for god's sake and this song was primo for it's time and has held up well I believe. Thank you for the post.

I got hooked in the 60's I'm old by generalization I But like I said .. it doesn't matter when or how. PS maybe I should get some of these games .. they sound great .... more cowbell (and medical herbs haha)

This is awesome... My dad played drums for a band called BOOT and opened for The Chambers Brothers a few times in Florida.

Yeah, I remember this song.
