  • JUST MISSED!!! "Time Has Come Today" just missed making the Billboard's Hot Top 10 chart; it peaked at No. 11 and spent a total of 14 weeks in the Hot Top 100 in 1968!!!

  • Wow...40+ years later, the world seems bent on repeating the tragic errors of the past....Politically speaking, we seem to have gone full circle....Time has come today....

  • great acid song just great how do you spell psychodelisized??????

  • @endari you are so right on! This is a song & album that was as if made for me & my friends. Along with groups such as Lee Michaels, Love, Doors, Azteca, early Blues & later Hendrix & Cream, made our lives listening to music so magical. Such a special time. Our studio (totally soundproof) had similar wonderful drawings & the picture of the clouds - WOW! - they look like the ones I used to view from laying on the back yard lawn. Lovely memories!

  • "Time has Come Today" One of the BEST rock anthems of the 60"s PERIOD!

  • I guess I born in the wrong era!!! this music is amazing.

  • Man, if I had a nickel for every time I listened to this on acid, I would...well...have enough for another hit of acid, man!

  • Outstanding drummer.

  • Truly transcends Time. Definitely took me back, and then back again to this Time as the trip is in the journey. Thanks for sharing The Chambers Brothers. Glad to hear they are well!

  • If you weren't there you wouldn't understand!

  • @Oldscript

Not necessarily true. A lot of people love 60's music even though they weren't even born until much later. You can have a different perspective and still enjoy great music.

  • long version is the best

  • This song is good to the last drop. GB!

  • Haven't heard this in Oh,, 35 years. Still blows me outta my head!!

  • the long version is aussome

  • The Overall BEST Psychedelic Jam of ALL, if you had to pick Only One to represent.

  • ycanada...you WERE transported to Another Dimension, on a Journey Throughout Time and Space, The Outer Limits, The Twilight Zone......you WERE.....PSYCHEDELICIZED !!!!

  • Excellent, excellent. (TIME HAS COME TODAY)..

  • Listened to this song for the first time while driving on a dark stretch of the transcanada highway between Montreal and Toronto the only light comes from the satellite radio. This song blares and provides a surreal backdrop as the song has transported me to another dimension, the car now seems to be floating in the darkness while the road moves.

  • One of my favorites of all time.....it was on the radio all over San Diego along with the Stones and Gary Puckett and the Union Gap (sold more albums than the Beatles in '68)...I used to dance at the Quad Room in Clairmont to the Gap before they went big time...I saw the Stones w/ Ike and Tina Turner in SD in '69...tickets were $13.

  • excellent song for those with attention spans longer than five minutes. awesome song for those with really nice sound systems.

  • this song is soooooooooooo ahead o it time an d kick a!!!!!!!!!

  • Love this song! It's still relevant today-maybe even more so....

  • I used to listen to them all the time when I was a kid learning drums and guitar....this is rock at its best...raw and straight for the kill.....

  • Time has come today....

Think about the Subway!!!! Occupiers !!! We hall overcome!!!

  • This song kicks ass. I watch the Music Choice channels on TV and caught this and it's great. I read on Wiki that Columbia president didn't like this and they snuck in and recorded this anyway! It was/is a hit...up yours Columbia.

  • There has never been a song that I've listened to as much as I've listened to this one. I play it over and over again, just as much now as I did when it first came out. Brian Keenan's drumming is absolutely amazing. It's so sad that he passed away so young. Everything is good in this song, but Brian's drumming definitely makes the song. I also love the lead singer's voice.

  • I love the music but would rather see pics of the Brothers then the art. But like Lester's daughter in NY always says I have my opinions when I only asked that Jerome Brailey be added to the Brothers MySpace and FB pages and disrupted the funeral of Mama Chambers. Shame on her, this is a family who I have known before she was ever conceived.

  • ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS OF ALL TIME. NOT JUST THE 60'S. THIS SONG REPRESENTS A CHANGING OF THE WORLD ORDER AND A NEW DIRECTION FOR THIS PLANET THAT WE CALL EARTH. A DEFINING MOMENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!! POWERFUL FOR THOSE WHO WERE THERE. PEACE.

  • @jgreenvend

Well said. I'm flooded with memories of tripping out to this music. Winds of change were blowing strong.

  • saw them 40 years ago at the University of Miami.....just great .... an oz of Columbian was only 20$

  • We owe this to The Chambers Brothers and Vietnam vets.

  • One of the Baddest Songs Ever Made

  • @rivera48721 Coolest comment yet--looks like there are now 9 that need to have those souls psychedelicized

  • The best of American rock, soul, gospel all in one band. Major influence .

  • i'm 61 and lived that era THANK GOD for that, the chambers were the reason for me to learn english and understand what they were saying in that wonderfull song.......today is more prevalent than ever..

  • In Homefront me Vietnam fantasy was shot to H3LL. : (

  • I hope my neighbors like this song............

  • We will be the coolest nation on earth, the universe, if this becomes our National Anthem. How cool would it be having a stadium of people ..... it would out perform North Korea. It would be a moment in time in whatever the universe considers awesome moments!

  • ONE OF THE BEST SONGS ON 60´S . REALLY WONDERFUL

  • Righteous

  • This is arguably the greatest rock song of all time. Every thing about this song is exceptional. The drums, the cowbell, the lyrics, the singing, the fuzz guitar, the psychedelic vibe. It all came together in this classic. I put it up there with Bethoven's 9th Symphony and Thick As A Brick by Jethro Tull. Peace.

  • Used to listen to this on my little am radio sleeping out under the stars.

  • Thank you Brothers. I took you with me to Viet Nam and I just came home today. Thank you , thank you!

  • As of now 8/13/11 The Chambers Brothers are #4 on the top 50 bands from LA at 6.5% of the vote. I, of course added mine. Make them #1 follow that link above to latimesmagazine and VOTE!

What a great way to start the day listening to The Chambers Brothers music. I am moved as much today as I was 40 years ago. I'm alive! And loving it!

  • @LemniscateLight #4!! Oh So Close to the top! Thanks for the votes, my friend!!

  • I love this song. I'm gonna take the old mower up to get my sorry ass another 12 pack.

  • Great Music .... My Senior HS year.... Thanks for the memories (what's left of them!)

  • Bill Nye the Science Guy brought me!

  • I'll never forget seeing them do this in the early '70s one night on the mall at the foot of the Washington Monument. It was an anti-Vietnam War rally made even more memorable when the late/great journalist I.F.Stone gave an introductory speech describing the Washington Monument as the worlds largest phallic symbol.

  • Great art work with a great piece of music! Thanks

  • Since 1970 I've listened to this song quite possibly 500 times.

  • I gotta have more cowbell.

  • Way Cool!

  • they will always have TIME in ROCK N ROLL history

  • how do spell pschyodelisized

  • @slapjax28 acid

  • Thanks ALL for the awesome comments and for keeping my uncles music alive! Keep the buz up...no, not that BUZ--the buz about the Chambers Brothers! Lets get them in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It TIME!!

  • @connvee3

If you want to keep the buzz alive let me use some music in a film!!!!!! I grew up with these guys. They are special. I hope to here from you but this account is tied to an old email account so I think this comment is all in vain, I'll keep trying other avenues.

  • @connvee3 one of the best songs ever

  • @connvee3

I was at the concert in New Orleans about 1996 at jazzfest. and Chambers Brothers were there it was AWSOME!

  • @connvee3 Best harmony for the time!!!!

  • Saw them do this this at a little club in Ben Lomond, CA about '95. They...in musical parlance...tore the roof off the sucka!!! I am blessed.

  • I think this song is on a par with some of Bob Dylan's classics. An icon of the times, then and now.

  • MORE COWBELL!!

  • ...the bros harmony and performance together was awsome! And I heard them in the CT basement studio. Your art captures the element of their emotion...well done. Best regards, M

  • Don't really matter how one gets here.. point is ... we ARE here to this icon piece. I agree with you 100%. I just happen to be here because once you experience it you are hooked. I got hooked in the 60's I'm old by generalization I But like I said .. it doesn't matter when or how. PS maybe I should get some of these games .. they sound great .... more cowbell (and medical herbs haha)

    old guy

  • @connvee3 How do I go about doing that? I followed the link and then the music started to play. I didn't see where I could send a message to them.

  • Met your dad and uncles and Brian back in the 70's when they had a house in Stamford, CT. Great gentlemen and amazing talent! Good times!

  • crooklyn brought me here!

  • Love the Chambers Brothers! One of my all time fave bands from the sixties. Man was I having fun when I first heard these songs. thanks for posting it.

  • i sincrely thank God for the art of The Chambers Brothers

  • @newyorkayanna Amen

  • Holy mackerel.

  • OMG! The Chambers Brothers should have been super famous! This is a powerful 1960's song.

  • @LasVegasJim The Chambers Brothers WERE and still ARE super famous Jim.

  • @ketchfish •My post from a month ago: “Brilliant music for everything around the love generation, Vietnam, social equality, and whatever else which brought us to now. Time Has Come Today. Thanks for the post.” My point was that I have never found them on the 100 best in rock, 1960’s decade, or any other recognized list of “super famous.” COUNTLESS other brilliant musicians never became “super famous” for who know why. View “The Story of Anvil” for just another example. Best wishes.

  • Where's the LOVE button?

  • first song I remember hearing when I hit Vietnam in June 1968. Today is the first time I've listened to it all the way through since. The ghosts are still there.

  • The Chamber Brothers changed the way I looked at the world. Magical is the word I must often use to discribe their music. It hits you right in the soul and makes it feel good.

  • This is awesome... My dad played drums for a band called BOOT and opened for The Chambers Brothers a few times in Florida.

  • I look forward to this song on my walking playlist. It marks the halfway mark of my 5-mile-a-day walk. The cadence changes keep it interesting. It's not fast enough to jog to; but I usually walk backwards during the the very slowest segment. Nothing like a little variety.

  • I was of induction age and Vietnam loomed large on my horizon, so I tried to escape it by enlisting in the Navy. (Vietnam was a surface war.) I geeked through the written tests (electronics guaranteed, and right to test for nuke) and was in excellent physical shape, but my pulse was too high (60 at home, 104+ at AFEES).

    Yeah, I remember this song.

  • I was the ripe old age of 10 when I first heard this song. I was instantly addicted. This song has such meaning for me and many happy memories of my childhood.

  • I loved this song. And still do. Thank you for posting it for us to enjoy.

  • Hi, I'm Vinnie. I grew up in Brooklyn. During the late 60's we hung out at the Electric Circus on St. Marks Place in the Village. The Chambers Brothers played there quite often. It was a memorial time for me and my friends that came from all over NYC to hang out and be part of the audience for The Chambers Brothers. It was an honor and privelege to have known them and to have hung out with them!

  • did i spell psyodelsized right? i am 65 came out of the NAM dropped LSD heard this song went to a club that was just 2 min away took me a day and a half to get to the club when i got to the club it was closed. so i dropped more LSD. made it to my apart. put the song on again and saw green carnaries

  • I'm 63 and living on the island of Kauai. I love it, but would give anything to have a time machine and go back to UT, Austin, 1969-71. Aloha and Peace.

  • TIME.

  • Varlito is right. This is one of the best songs of the late sixties and early seventies. I was able to receive the Chambers Brothers a lot easier than I did Jimi Hendrix. and am glad for the distraction. This album made it into my collection along with much Beach Boys, Beatles and Rolling Stones and a decent serving of early Motown greats like Stevie Wonder, Martha Reeves, Jr. Walker & the Allstars. There was a thing going on during the sixties and seventies. It was easy to catch good music.

  • MORE COWBELL !!!!!!!!!!!!!! When this song came out I dropped 2 hits of acid and listened to it 17, 233 times in a row ..now I am 64 and drop 2 ant acids and listen to it 2 or 3 times :)~

  • Man this was my favorite song growing up in Miami. I must have been 8 or 9, one of my older brother's freinds ask me what my favorite songs were, I answered Sugar, Sugar by the Archies and Time Has Come Today by the Chambers Brothers...took me a long time to figure out why after hearing my answer he started cracking up at me.

  • groovy!!!

  • thanks... i was a hartford resident... we proclaimed peace... before it happenned... not like watts and the WARK as in new... great tune one up from get ready by Rare earth...peace bro...

  • Awesome times, awesome concerts up until the 90s,when greed and bubblegum acts with a pretty face like katy perry that dont have enough material to cover a standard concert time of 2 hours showed up. Time has come today to bring back talent over powderpuff american idol

  • The music is good, and the art is fabulous.

  • 4 people voted they DON"T like this song??? WTF??? One of the best songs ever!!

  • Ok, this is your brain on drugs...DAMN GOOD DRUGS!

  • four people didnt get their souls psychadelicized

  • Hello. I first heard this on a TV show. It was some contest. Bobby Goldsboro was also in it. Chambers won it. I then saw them in Vancouver. The place went crazy. This was a fantastic time for some people. It must have been horrible for all the Vietnamese people, and the young people forced to go there to kill, or get killed. Its insane that we cant learn to stop killing. But songs like this woke lots of people up. Wish the whole world would wake up. Stop killing.

  • What a statement,time came long ago.Let's go Whitey !!

  • Brilliant music for everything around the love generation, Vietnam, social equality, and whatever else which brought us to now. Time Has Come Today. Thanks for the post.

  • This song brings back many fond memories. Yes there were drugs involved, it was the 60's for god's sake and this song was primo for it's time and has held up well I believe. Thank you for the post.

    Peace
