Why film a driver when he doesn't want to be filmed? We're you just trying to annoy him? And why do some people get upset at a driver grabbing a coffee? Most drivers don't get any breaks or when they do they are very brief.
@Alientank hey I've read your comments on about three different vids and now I'm gunna say something.. I just moved to Toronto from a small town a year ago and I can honestly say the most disrepected and frustrated I have ever felt is dealing with TTC employees. I have not once come into contact with a genuinely kind, or helpful employee. Dozens of other issues aside from my own personal quarrels I can honestly speak for many people when I say you have ABSOLUTELY no right to defend any of our c
the ttc is a virus, these douchebags get paid 70,000 a year. The average salary is 29,000 for a person is Canada or near that. In most other transit systems you like like half what you pay for this virus we call the ttc. In seattle it was a dollar for an adult,
Hey morons, the operators DO NOT control fare prices, bus routes, how many buses are on the road, subway timing, funding, what they get paid, or how much of a douche bag you are flashing your stupid camera phone in their face.
If you have a problem with it, talk to management. Unions have nothing to do with policy or where money is spent. Talk to the provincial government too. The TTC is the least government supported transit system in North America. Why do you think fares are so high?
@00Billy Complete bullshit. "TTC cops" as you call it, are special constables who have the same arresting power as a cop, nothing more. They also don't carry guns. And guess what, they no longer do that job. It's being handed over to Toronto Police now. So I guess you can transfer your private army conspiracy theory over to the cops now.
I remember hearing a dum statistic that TTC Drivers have more Post Traumatic Issues then Toronto Police Officer,I have a friend he a tow truck driver the amount of fucked up calls on his scanner like DOAS,Suicides overdoses sucides are some of the small things The toronto police service respond to everyday
True story: I'm on the Finch bus at the Tobermory intersection and a lady starts having a seizure..so people start yealling for the driver to stop. The driver is a fat black lady who is having a conversation with a passenger after a lot of yelling she stop "what's the comosion y'all? someone yells "she's having a seiiii zure" driver "who having a seizure? passenger.."her stupid". Driver " who ya calling stupid yo? and kisses her teeth and black passengers kiss their teeth.
driver: "why she having a seizure? aight now get off da bus". black people again kiss their teeth and reluctantly get off and step over the lady having a seizure. Now instead of asking why and fighting with passengers, shouldn't this driver have said: Ok everybody please exit the bus, this bus is now out of service. Paramedics are on the way" & proceed to call for help, instead it took so long to get this lady some help. WTF seriously, SOME black people need to stop being so gettho & primitive
no one is going to tell me when and where i can use my phone. If you're doing your job right you got nothing to worry about. Too many times I get a rude response when i make a simple inquiry for directions. Its gotta stop. Make the TTC more user friendly and do something about strollers especially on the Jane bus. Take a page from the mississauga transit and lift the front seats for passengers with strollers. This will create less confrontations on the busy routes like the 35 Jane bus.
Actually, you can. Since the TTC is a public service, it is considered news. They legally can not block people from using cameras on their property. This includes any public service, even police. Also, celebrities and any public event are also news.
so you think news is just going up to someone who is working and shoving a camera in their face...that's ok? Even if thats all that they were doing...just woking?
@DigitalImagesToront Sorry to disappoint you, but TTC By-Law # 1, which is an actual municipal law in Toronto, section 3.17 states ' No person shall operate any camera, video recording device, movie camera or any similar device for commercial purposes upon the transit system without authorization.'
By-laws can not superceed Provincial or Federal laws. Besides that by-law has nothing to do with this. It specifies "commercial use". News is not commercial use.
Kid.. yes you are a kid... you are young and ignorant, honestly you dont know the law that well.
Specifically filming a person without their consent is against the law in Canada.
This can be seen as disorderly conduct as it is causing a scene (he asked you not to tape him afew times and you didn't comply so you are harassing him now and being disorderly)
@cryoes I have been over this about 2000 times, so here it is again: YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION TO PHOTOGRAPH OR VIDEO RECORD PUBLIC SERVICE EMPLOYEES WHILE THEY ARE WORKING, OR IN THIS CASE SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING. THIS INCLUDES ANYONE WHO IS CONSIDERED A PUBLIC FIGURE. IF THIS PERSON IS *WORKING*, IT IS CONSIDERED NEWS, AND YOU DO NOT NEED PERMISSION.
@DigitalImagesToront actually yes you do because if you dont its hassment to the public worker because if it was you you would have not like that ....
@DigitalImagesToront I Record Videos For My youtube channel , Was Approached by a ttc operator last week , who told me i cannot film without a "Permit" i told her its not commercial use and she insisted i still needed one, So i called head office and they say i dont need one unless im doing a shoot that has a bigger set up like more then 3 people, Tripod, lighting etc .. i think they need to have some sort of firm rule..and not bounce back and fourth with what they "Think" is the law
@TKnHappyNess i think everyone has the right not to be assualted man. This isnt the 10th century. but the kid has a right to record whatever he wants, if the bus driver wants privacey, he should get a job digging wells...deep under ground
MY BUS?????
"WE THE PEOPLE" the Passengers PAY for THAT BUS and the scum that misconduct that bus. WE PAY YOU T.T.C. YOU DON"T PAY US

A Peel region cop once told me that the TTC cops have more power over us than regular police....its a private army.
They dont want cameras because we might catch their drivers driving drunk.
