Hello! This video is very interesting, I have done some stencil & spray art using poster board for the stencil. I was wondering does anyone know what Hutch uses? it appears to be something different?
i forget what its called but there's this type of material tahts like those transparencies they use for projectors but is sticky on one side. airbrush artists use them and from what i can tell thats what he used.
Only joking, I found the whole thing brilliantly done and completely enthralling! You sir are very bloody talented as is Mr Hutch! I look forward to more video's if possible?
@MrPaul52 I thought the same thing at first but when it comes down to actually painting the stencil, it's extremely easy to overspray border, which usually ruins the whole piece. Instead of having HUGE borders to prevent that, he uses a soft spray cap, and a glove to guard.
Another one of the biggest misconceptions about stenciling is that you need to use a lot of paint. He's using softspray as well, with light easy strokes.
The roller-girl one, he could prolly do 20 of those with 1 can.
Great little documentary, rickywells, it has a calm and thoughtful pace to it and isn't in the vein of 'street art is hard, fast and full of action', which it rarely is in reality. A true and insightful documentary.
@rickywells sweet documentary, but can not say I agree with @ Thepopegfx.
I grew up with graffiti / hip-hop culture, and it's far from as easy as one should have it here. but I think that people accept stencil art over graffiti, because they can understand it more. graffiti is more complicated and creative (in my opinion) and I think people have a habit of hating and depressed those things They dont understand, instead of trying to understand what lies behind it.
@janekproductionz well, I think it's overrated at some point, cause while I could grant that it takes skill, graffiti is a signature and it kinda bothers me when the whole "art" revolves the fact the you just wrote your name in bubble text. it's not conceptual nor could anyone get "it" aside that "you were here". quite a large style over substance ratio.
6:45 Kid thinks your banksy, did you hear him yell it?
