The techno aspect was just a synth keyboard. The fact that it was live is where the rawness comes into play. That's why the vocals are a little gruff. Anyways I appreciate the mature conversation. They sound absolutely nothing like Nickleback. Just Drive reminds me a little bit of Incubus, while Stuck in the Middle is still good old Four Year Strong sound, only missing the keyboard. But to be hones, they were already mostly gone on Enemy of the World.

I love Blink-182 but I love Four Year Strong, there one of my favorite bands i think they do a great job covering it because they do it in there own style and it sounds unique. Its also a hard song to cover because Blink-182 did such a fantastic job on Dumpweed,but I give props to Four Year Strong for doing it. I Love FYS :)

It's true that the song isn't as polished as it probably should have been. But that has a lot to do with FYS having only practiced it as a band once before they recorded it. That little nugget of information gave me an even greater appreciation for the track. Just imagine if they would have had a couple of weeks to perfect it.

@emoneettk None of those bands would've ever been made had it not been for blink. I like FYS, TWY and SYG, including most other modern pop punk bands, but blink 182 are the granddaddy of them all. All of those bands have very openly cited blink 182 as an influence, and these bands were twittering and shit about the new blink song last night. Just goes to show how all those bands are huge fans of blink. If you like those bands but hate blink, then there is something wrong with you. Seriously.

@MichealZero1 Well, technically yes, but most modern pop punk bands are more so influenced by Blink than Green Day or Offspring. Both of those bands are more on the punk side of pop punk, Blink is more on the pop side, if you get what I'm saying.

It's true that the song isn't as polished as it probably should have been. But that has a lot to do with FYS having only practiced it as a band once before they recorded it. That little nugget of information gave me an even greater appreciation for the track. Just imagine if they would have had a couple of weeks to perfect it.

Why are people being little whiny bitches over this cover. That's right it's a COVER. They took the original song (which is good) and made it fit more into their style. This cover is actually pretty good. I'll admit it would have been way better if they recorded nowadays and not when they first started playing.
