USA allowed British Petroleum to not only destroy the Gulf of Mexico, but exponentially worsen it buy spraying chemical dispersant to hide - sink the oil to the bottom. Now the Gulf is destroyed for the next 100 to possibly 1000 years! We polluted the oceans with a sea of plastic the size of Texas. We destroyed the world's oceans, destroyed the world's forests, and brought every animal species to the brink of extinction! Corporate Capitalism at its WORST! Tiempo para Revolucion!
@graimat I am in my fourth and final year of university and from the beginning I have used this video to help give me the inner drive I need to complete my schooling. While humans increase in numbers other species will fall. Our overpopulation and our greed are the cause of the loss of many thousands of species. This will not end until our population drops to a sustainable level as fewer people would mean fewer mouths to feed and fewer homes to build and fewer bodies travelling around the planet.
In other words to make sure the Orangutan babies survive do not have human babies of your own
i totally agree, i am also 12 and it's soo sad to see this, i am not eating or purchasing anything with palm oil in it. i have also adopted a orangutan named pinky.
i will be soooo happy if we can make a change and save these wonderful cratures which are our closest relatives :(
Orangutans face extinction in the wild in 10 years. We can't wait for our kids to grow up and take care of the problem, everybody has to change their habits now! Stop buying palm oil foods and make a statement. Share this issue with friends and family! Those poor majestic trees and all those beautiful animals and creatures dying from our craziness.

this is arrogantly cruel. god put thousands of millions of beautiful creatures on this planet for a reason & many are murdering them. hopefully this video will bring awareness to many just as it did for me. their homes are being destroyed. god doesnt destroy ours, why should we destroy theirs? this is beyond disgustingly inhumane to me. they deserve every right to live in peace and happyness just as we have our rights to breath. this is bringing me to tears. an act of kindness is all it takes.
Why do you say that? You are part of the problem with that attitide. So dim you can't even spell or copy the name of the creature you think deserve to die.
This type of "business" pays well for the workers, these logging companies depend on that to get their grubby hands on this precious, needed forest. God only knows how old these trees are, and how its inhabitants have grown strong. This is a no brainer. These rain forests are our worlds air conditioners, and providers of oxygen air. Why have our governments worked together to make these precious areas hands off to greedy bastards. God help us!
I can't stop crying. Everyone watching this video must write to their govt's and demand action. Rich countries must consider how they can help. Of course much income is being made from selling wood/palm oil - so they need BIG incentives to stop the cutting and burning. I pray that a solution can be found.
I can't watch this video, I know they need money to help them. we should write letters to their government, they are letting this happen all for Palm Oil, that is disgusting. The LOVE of money is the root to all evil............

@ADH58 Dude, you arn't talking fantasy!!! I'm just 19 and i booked my Gap year yestaday!!! 1 month in Cambodia and 2months in Borneo- workin with Orangutans!!!!! and it cost me less than £3000 (i live in england) But you CAN go work with these amazing creatures and help to improve the living conditions and know that you have played a part in trying to keep this magnificant creater alive for (hopefully) generations to come!! but GO FOR IT!!! (search- camps international on google!!)
@ADH58 You don't have to wait until you get older to help. You can help NOW by helping your family change their buying habits, talking to friends and family about not buying food with palm oil. Awareness is half the battle. You can lend a voice to them and bring their plight out of the dark to people you come in contact with. Your voice alone is powerful.
Thank you for posting this moving video. I'm heading out to Borneo this summer to help out at a rehabilitation centre for orangs. They try and release all the orangs out to a controlled area in the wild. Please concider cutting out palm oil from your diet, the production of palm oil wipes out so much crucial rainforest where these orangs should be living. It's disgusting how some people posts videos of orangs putting on shows and smoking on here and find it funny. They should be wild, not human.
I hate zoos but, I did go just to see some orangutans. They are more breathtaking in person then anything. They are soooo beautiful. It will be ashamed if stupid things men do wipe them out. I wish I had a billion dollars. I would buy Borneo and kick all the loggers out and have these people re-educated on how important the Orangutan is to their culture.
But, I can do is make videos and talk to folks and make them aware. Got my husband to love them :)
Within the next 10 years zoo are going to be the only place to see Orangutans, and some of them are trying to do whatever they can to help protect them. I believe its the Cheyenne Zoo that has a lot of good info on their website about Palm Oil. Everyone should check it out.
Thanks to BOS/Safe Palm Oil for alerting me to this video... it's great and so sad. We have to stop this! This has got to end... alternative energy is much needed but I believe it's wind, solar and water.
Our closest cousins as are all primates - you'd think that most humans would respect that but they don't [not to mention the ones that don't believe in this - they are more to blame for propagating a wrong theory]

this is tghe place i have dreamed of being there and when i get older and get the chance it wont be there.why ruin a perfect place....dont make animals go extinct cuz of our selfish needs!!!save them leave borneo and other rain forests alone...animals were before us...respect it!
Amazing video. Even with the music turned off it still makes me feel angry, disgusted and above all, shame.
Ultimately everything we do uses the planet's resources and affects the natural world, but it's the way we breathlessly race to consume without a thought for the consequences that shocks me.
Orang-utans are very emotive but I think we all have to look at ways we can put less pressure on the planet in general.
At the moment the human race seems ridiculously short-sighted.
I have heard that Oran-Gutan means 'Man of the Forrest' in the local language on Sumatra. These guys are our cousins. It is outright murder to treat them like this! To destroy the rain-forests might well be to ruin a major oxygen producer. I don't believe in global warming, all our energy comes from the sun, but to destroy the rain-forests might cause such a change in climate that we humans will perish. If we do, we deserve it!
You know, I don't cry very often but my mother sent me this via email not that long ago and recieved it through a support group, I sat at my desk and cried when I watched it then and I'm off again! They are just like babies.
These magnificent, intelligent orangutans need our help more than eve now. The greed and ignorance of so much of mankind and what they are doing to destroy these animals and their habitat is dispcable. the work that groups like this are doing to help prtoect and save them is so brave and inspirational.
Just what is up with the human race? We also have to spare a though for all the monkeys. They aren't as big and sexy as gorillas, chimpanzees and orangutans, but they are just as wonderful. The great apes groups collect almost all donations. Groups like the International Primate Protection League should not be overlooked. They work on issues that affect all primates.
This is a an excellent video. I don't know what it will take to stir people to action.
It's so sad to see these beautiful creatures being cruelly treated and especially to see their homes - the forests - being cut down, the Government there is mad to allow this to continue to happen.
BOS are doing a wonderful job, please give whatever you can afford to this wonderful organisation.
Completely moving and this should, get people to find out more about the threats to these animals, raise awareness, campaign against non-sustainable Palm Oil Plantations. Well done on making this powerful video.
Great video! This is a very moving story and a worthy cause.
I've supported Borneo Orangutan Survival for a while now. If everyone who watches this donates anything they can afford we could really make a difference! Just Google "Save the Orangutan" and hit "I'm feeling lucky" to find them. :)

Great video! This is a very moving story and a worthy cause.
I've supported Borneo Orangutan Survival for a while now. If everyone who watches this donates anything they can afford we could really make a difference! Just Google "Save the Orangutan" and hit "I'm feeling lucky" to find them. :)
