  • nobody can touch his face.

  • Please Spread it to all the world so that wing chun will not gone in our martial arts session :)

  • Neat stuff would like to see this with Roy Jones Junior, however.

  • Dang Sparing with Ip Chung!? He's a lucky man, dude!

  • Spotted three glaring mistakes by Ip Chun at his own art by the one minute mark. This is ridiculous.

  • @TheOriginalEntz Yeap... many people see him as a GM because he was Yip Man's son. He started off WC at the age of 43 after Bruce Lee became famous. Yip Man's senior students are way better than this fella. One of them was the late Sifu Wong Shun Leung.

  • @cwmak70 ip chun is an example of a pure lifestyle, sometimes his moves aren't 100% precise because he's shaking a lil bit but he has the right technique and his mind is still clear, he's the best wing chun master you can have

  • I'd hate to do this and accidentally hit him, and piss him off...

  • Why are people so threatened by watching someone exercise something they've been doing their whole life. It's an art form not a way to get peoples lunch money.

  • Thumbs up if you know what trick Ip Chun was using....(This comment isn't going to get a lot of thumbs up)...to get the other guy off center!

  • Very cool. Although the two That are very close to each other, That Facilitating Both hit in the face, eyes, throat, shoulders forward, ... I'm doing the 6 th grade Instructor WT "Wyng Tjun" or the Wing Chun it is known. Our System WT enhanced by the Grand Master Leung Ting and enhanced with new techniques by our German masters. Today our system detects defects of many styles including Those That Are Obsolete, even from other traditional styles of Wyng Tjun.

  • i can benchpress 500 lbs i would destroy this poor man

  • @sleepyasfuck that make you feel good about yourself??

  • @sleepyasfuck the thing is...nowadays almost everyone (apart from practitioners and such) just focus on muscle etc. They do not get the theory behind the different types of martial arts. So what if you can benchpress 500lb? a practitioner could easily get you on the ground just by the force of your momentum as you do a punch or a kick. You'll be just as useless as when you dont have any muscles at all.

  • Nobody wants to hurt the old guy. I know I wouldn't feel comfortable sparring with him. He looks so fragile.

  • Who's the small dude at 1:37 ??

  • What a joke. An average thug would take the wallets of everyone in that room who didn't wrestle in high school or wasn't a decent athlete.

  • @rikitikirobot love to see him try. never have i seen anyone diffuse a robbery by wrestling someone to the floor.

  • @spartan2527 Fighting has nothing to do with wrestling or being an athlete. I however did wrestle since I was 5 and have taken martial arts since I was 5 as well, and dedicated the last 8 years to wing tsun. So if its so ineffective, then why do spec ops around the world use it? SEK and GSG9 of germany (there main combat system). NOCS out of Italy, RAID out of france and the FBI and CIA have taken it, and I have personally taught marines and some army guys. Fighting is about being smarter.

  • @PandaWingTsun i was replying to the guy that said martial arts is a joke. I wasnt criticizing wing chun. i was criticizing him on how he thinks wrestling is more effective.

  • @spartan2527 Oh lol. My apologies then sir. I'm just tired of people bashing wing tsun when they know nothing about it. and from my grappling stand point, I hate it when people think wrestling is ineffective. I just wish people could give constructive criticism or keep there mouth's shut. But again sorry for throwing down on you, my mistake. Happy Training,

    Jeff

  • @rikitikirobot As soon as a thug even tries to takedown or pull a gun out, you'll be feeling sorry and very stupid against a Wing Chun practitioner. i bet as soon as the thug puts his hand out, the WC practitioner would have pak sao then follow up with a strike to the neck and boom game over.

  • @zoradora000

Really? Find one example of this. Just one. Youtube, CCTV, News, anything. You will find none. Wing Chun hides behind the curtain of mystery. The curtain has been pulled. Wing Chun guys always say "blah sports have rules wing chun is SO deadly in REAL life blah, blah. YOU can find examples of BJJ or MMA guys being attacked in real life and ending it. You won't find ONE with Wing Chun. Ed Oneil yes Al Bundy a BJJ blackbelt choked guy out at gas station. Steve Jennum Etc. Wing Chun?

  • @rikitikirobot ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU WHO SHOULD KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT AND LET US GUESS YOU ARE A FOOL INSTEAD OF OPENING HIS MOUTH AND LETTING US KNOW THAT YOU ARE ONE.

  • @BLACKARMCHAIN3

Prove me wrong. I could just crush you with the above comment to Zoradora000. If YOU search Youtube, you can find examples of this. All kinds, news stories, security camera footage, etc. Don't try to insult my intelligence for offering proof. What have you offered?....................Yep, nothing. You typed in all CAPS. Congrats. The best you will ever do is that "kung fu kid' in the red shirt windmilling around and knocking out a cholo. No kung fu, and not even wing chun. Sad.

  • @BLACKARMCHAIN3 Now that I think of it, I'm not letting you off the hook that easy. Look up backyard MMA. These guys are complete idiots. However, they get credit because they stand toe to toe and get hit, slammed choked (with bad technique) but they pay their dues. This video isn't that. Most wing chun isn't that. Even the one guy I respect for fighting-Shawn Obase? doesn't use wing chun in his fights. However, at least he has played for real. How about these people?

  • You showed respect to the grandmaster. Respect to u. great work out

  • Damn I wish I could have learned from both father and son Ip Man and Chun.

  • Guys, get some perspective: the guy was 84 in 2008 and it 87 now.

  • its good to see that sifu Ip Chun is still active and training..

  • is that charles manson?lol

  • so is this a conference then or ???

  • dude i hope im that cool ...if i live that long

  • @0508username a good kick to the nuts is simply not protecting your center line in Wing Chun.

  • 0:38 guy in the back... :P epic slap

  • @Erev0s666 lol didn't notice that

  • @0508username you kick niggas in the nut?

    Because really hurts you know.

  • just shit

  • he must not have learned much from his father cuz he looks very sloppy

  • @mrspawkala hes just playing around with this guy.... actually he looks like he's getting ready for his noonday nap (-_-) zzz

  • One thing i can with Wing-chun compare to UFC. Wing-chun works when your dead drunk. UFC does not.

  • @SeventhRoar666 UFC works for me when im drunk, all i have to do is turn on the TV lol. UFC isn't a fighting style its a fighting Championship

  • @UBSWRecords

True enough, it works wonder there.

  • @virtualmark weeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwww power to the UFC bbbbbbbeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww when u say well rounded fightr you mean a street brawler right...please UFC is a joke sure they can knock people out all they do is swing until they connect, why its called mixed martial arts is beyond me

  • he is only playing

  • @Virtualmark You are truely the most dumbed fuck i've ever seen :) first of all, Wing Chun isn't a form of Martial art to actually Use to fight other people, like MMA mindlessly bashing each others heads. Learn some more about Wing Chun, then comment please.

  • "look at the dude in th back roung he got hit in the face"

  • Did anyone else jump as that tall guy @1:38 casually walked across. Ip Chun looks in great shape here, and I love the way he capitalizes on each moment to then strike.

  • ip chun is a great man, every1 should respect him

  • A lovely video by a true legend. Its just a shame that some people will always find fault in certain things but to say you will knock Ip Chun out is just out of order. I doubt he is looking to offend anyone. The history of his family , him and Wing Chun should be respected. There is nothing wrong with the modern MMA as we know it, i find it exciting but as a Martial Artist, i am sure we are taught about respect and discipline. Insults are not good. Big up to Ip Chun..

  • Notice that Ip chun hand are shaking O_o i think cause he is old??

  • @ThePunkemoboy No. It's because he is very relaxed, when he gings his hands shake.

  • People need to be more respectful. Anyone can beat the shit out of someones grandpa. I will fight for my grandparents. I will fight for Ip Chun if anyone wants to try fucking with him. Filipinos carry knives. I know how to use it. I'll skip the chi sao and jump to slashing you to little bits. So shut the fuck up and give some respect to this man.

  • 70 years of muscle memory

  • The beauty of master and pupil... It would be an honor to have a Chi Sau exercise with Sifu Ip Chun himself. =]

  • Yiteng16 Eyes closed. Lol

  • He's slow and frail. He may have been a badass, but now, he's decrepit.

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz

Looks like it but I don't think he is, he's just holding back due to the learners around. x]

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz you idiot. you know nothing about what you're talking about. better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt...

  • @BobDoleNSatanRmyniGz He's not slow nor frail. His shakiness is due to his extreme relaxation which is required to do the form. The speed is because Chi Sao, especially with beginners, is best practiced slow, in order to train sensitivity of the forearms. The point isn't to be fast or swift, but to trap your opponent effectively. In Chi Sao, a technique showed work regardless of speed or power. If the technique is dependent on this, it is often considered incorrect.

  • Master!

  • lol he looks like he was fighting with his eyes closed

  • @yiteng16 That's because that's what he's doing. Chi Sao is about training to feel your opponent's movement after you have established contact with his arms. As soon as the contact is broken, you of course have to see what's coming, until contact is re-established. Also, it is technically not "fighting" but just an exercise for tactile senses. In a real fight, you need those tactile reflexes for only fractions of seconds.

  • don't talk rubbish, come to challenge me, ip chun is my grand grand master, i am the third generation, and i am in malaysia, and we r organising a wing chun vs competition, u r feel free to join. give me your email address and contact no. v will contact u and i hope you will join the competition and show me how strong u r. thank you

  • @londontree1 O_o which state r u ? im from kl... around danu kota...

  • i gotta give credit to the old man, u know how old ppl tend to shake/shiver..

he was shaking, and still kept going..

    Respect!

  • 2.10 - Man in white near tables is Duncan Leung?

  • I've watched a few wing chun vids and seriously i wish they would disable the comments because there is just so much crap talk! This was a cool video.

  • @theawakener7 first i dont know what a syophant is but im guessing you think im in love with him LOL nah ive just got massive respect for him even though i havnt met him. and if it wasnt an attack on him then my bad and i take it back. Plus how do you ''god'' is called ''god''? no one knows who created this universe, or what. Or if there is no god. im not over reacting either just pointing out that im disgusted a man i think is a great martial artist from what ive watched would say this.peace.

  • i know your good infact ive subscribed to you and im disgusted you would even think about knocking this man out. seriously i thought you might have more respect for legends like this but clearly not. for the contrary if this man was young he would murder you in seconds without a doubt so wind your neck in and give respect where its due, which i thought you would anyway.

  • who the fuck said about knocking this guy own? that is disgusting i woudnt use wing chun in a fight and do not really want to start training in it but i still respect this man and his father more than most......respect to you yip chun hope you have a happy and peacefull life.

  • The major difference between Ip Chun's and others' is that he's not ready to roll; but to strike! That's why he's often frozen at certain times, awaiting for opportunities.

  • OK, so what if u can beat or knock him out? It just makes u look stupid because of that. And if ur gna watch this and post sh1t then don't waste ur time we dont like you and ur gna get beat up by 50 ppl.

  • Just seen IP Man and it's AWESOME!!! From now on I'm training with my uncle Guru Phil Gonsalves which is 5th degree blackbelt in 6 different diciplines....GOOGLE his name...check out hi credentials....Doce Pares

  • @salsero916

so is he a WC master ?

  • @salsero916 Cool story, bro.

  • Hi s a good master I like!

  • I really wish i had a school in NJ for wing chun :(

  • I wish the grandmaster was young so that his movements can be more precise and faster. But he is doing well for his age. This form is good against Judo/wrestling when the opponent is trying to grapple or push/pull you in my perspective as a defensive art. What is ur opinion?

Another question is, are elbows and the back of your wrists used in Wing Chun?? So how about defense against kicks?

  • 0:35 Boom headshot.

  • I trained with ip for a few months...well until my $ ran out.........to the guy with the ponytail.................he looks pretty fluid..just my opinion but kudos to him

  • GRANDMASTER IP CHUN IS THE SON OF YIP MAN WHO WAS THE GREATEST WING CHUN FIGHTER?TEACHER EVER AND NO ONE SHOULD EVER SPEAK ABOUT HIS SON IN SUCH A DISRESPECTFUL MANNER. KNOCKING HIM DOWN? HOW ANYONE COULD EVEN SAY SUCH A THING IS HORRIBLE AND NEEDS THIER ASS KICKED

  • @ANNA00732 There are more things you need to understand if you still think about ass kicking

  • @ANNA00732 Mark Armstrong is the son of Neil Armstrong but that doesn't mean that he will never walk on the moon does it now........ Idle worship is a foolish game to play. Respect is earned and is not passed down the hereditary line by default.....He is NOT as good as his father OR his younger brother either for that matter.

  • @jaiharman1 You shouldn't be disrespectful regardless. I respect any man able to perform this well and be in this kind of shape in their mid-80's.

  • @ANNA00732 Yip Man probably was the greatest wing chun fighter in his time but not until he met Leung Bik son of Chan Wah-Shun. the one who taught him added skills and techniques in the authentic wing chun. Watch the film "The Legend is Born - Ip Man" if you want a clear info about this.

  • @ANNA00732 I'm sooo so happy that Ip Chun chose to follow in his father's footsteps!!!!! i honor and respet his father very very much..... i'mlearning jujitsu, but, id bevery privilegedand consider it a high honor to learn Wing Chun

  • @ANNA00732 right on sister (sorry im assuming) i mean this man is training and spreading a martial arts, dont worry there are some mindless people in this world of ours but enough of the ass kicking just send him to the grandmaster to get an ass whopping sorry in not to great on american idioms

  • There is a Jedy Council Members ...Mr.Yip Chun & Mr Duncan ...waw !

  • I am an EBMAS student and I think GM Ip Chun is still fantastic.

  • Comment removed

  • lol trust me when i say this. Ip Chun was holding back alot!

  • @ahh0072010 inside ur mothers ass.

  • Theres a lot of keyboard grandmasters here

  • This is a prime example of what I've tried to express to my friends. The little old guys who've studied martial arts their whole lives are the ones you've got to worry about. They're shaky and they aren't extremely fast, but they're excellent when and where it counts. They're ten steps ahead of you and being hit by them is like being hit by a steel bar.

  • learning how to fight brings peace no matter the style you have martial or not .

  • Great vid. Shows the fun element of chi sau, especially when Sigung is walking him back to his seat. Cheers

  • i could totally knock grandmaster ip chun back 6 feet.......................if i could get through his guard :P

  • @DVSnmeSON Hahahaha...that was perfect. I know you're joking, but I'm sure that everyone out there who's never studied any fighting style or never been in a fight against someone who knows how to fight is thinking the same thing.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain haha, oh yeah totally dude. cheers for the non abusive reply rofl :D

  • @DVSnmeSON Right back at ya boss. Always great meeting someone else who knows that Mixed Martial Arts isn't the be all, end all of the fighting universe :)

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain It's called Irony!

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain YEP YEP! i find it very, very odd that anyone can think MMA is a GOOD thing lol, kinda defeats basically every principle of most martial arts :P plus i hate watching people basically just kill each other in a ring....

  • how old is Ip chun ? 90 100?

  • @MrComano 85 this year

  • ni hao my name is benson i would like to know is that grand master willing to accept student or teach wing chun and post it in to youtube because i would like to learn from but im in singapore only thing i can do is learn from him in youtube. please reply back to me i would really wan to learn from him.

  • wing chun is kung fu

  • this is great chi sau, Ip Chun has such presence that the other chap is worried about attacking him even when he is only using one arm as ablock, wow. a real treat. thanks.

  • why dont u all fight each other in real , bunch of pussies

  • @evaniskandar Because it's not going to train you as well as chi sao. You actually can get more from chi sao than you can in mma

  • I wonder how people can say this thing to ip chun while they can't say anything about Bruce lee when they both use the same style of martial arts.

  • where is it? i want to learn it

  • @alancwwong It's everywhere.

  • I think GM is sleep walking :) great footage

  • dude.... he isn't even looking his eyes are closed

  • Interesting video. Thanks for sharing this.

Really enjoyed it. Nice to see master Ip Chun in action.

Hope you will stop by our page as well.

    Thanks

    CatChing Do Defensive Arts Staff.

  • awesome...I'm a thai boxer but love it!

  • hehe..it would be funny if the guy with the beard had thrown a sucker punch, like a fucking big hay maker and would go FUCK YOUR WING CHUNG GRANNY

  • @R10jeeh you are a prick who doesn't deserve to be called a human for your foolishness and insulting ways, get a life, loser.

  • @intirayami Don't be so sensitive dickhead. it was a fucking joke, can't handle it?

  • @R10jeeh no one is laughing prick

  • @intirayami I only said that it would be funny, not that it was funny....read my comments idiot

  • @R10jeeh wow, we sound like children, i guess we should just leave it at that. that's the sensible thing to do...

  • @intirayami you're acting like a grown up....great...

  • Strength, Speed, and Perfect Technique... etc.

    You need all that. =P

You can have both guys that are about the same in wing chun skill. But the stronger guy has a better chance.

All we can say is, keep training. No martial arts is better than another. It depends on who uses it, and who's better on their own type of martial arts.

  • My personal opinion, but between watching Ip Ching vs. Ip Chun... Ip Ching is the better of the two in Chi-sao.

  • what the hell every martial arts vid I watch I see some gay ass comment about MMA. y u gotta bring that into this? its just a video.

  • is that sifu duncan leung on 1:40?

  • just seeing how much now ip chun shakes, age really is catching up. great stuff though

  • that fella can't even reach ip chun. but he seems old now and maybe that slows down some movements.

  • To all the people that have commented on how easy it would be to knock yip chun over and how useless chi sau is, learn wing chun, learn it completely, master it then give your opinion. Chi sau is merely a game, and exercise in reading energy and using it to your advantage, it's not supposed to be explosive or glamourous like in the kung fu flicks, it is a subtle skill in utilising sensitivity and techinique when in close contact with someone, Yip Chun is a living legend not some UFC fighter

  • amen!!!

  • could not of said it any better, ufc should just be called martial conbat becuase that is its only aim. there is no art what so ever unlike traditional kung fu which is whole round and even better

  • I understand that you want to defend your art against bashers, but please do not denigrate the Mixed Martial Arts, we're all the same gang, Both are Martial Arts and UFC fighters are martial Artists as well.

  • I understand this and respect all athletes, and martial artists, whatever the origin or school of thought, that's why when people are so quick to criticise something they have no idea of, I feel compelled to enlighten them, I merely used the 'UFC' prefix as 'cage' wouldn't fit! And had no intention of making light of the ufc fighters ability and skill, I apologise if offence was taken, it was not intended.

  • they mma fighters dont behave like one should . most of them are just plain rude guys

  • There are people like that in every Martial Arts, You notice them more because MMA competitions have become very popular and seen by many, but I have seen a lot of arrogant pricks in Karate Competitions when I used to do Kyokushin.

  • Martial Art and Martial Sport are similar in action but different in motive.

Some UFC fighters may be Martial Artists as well but primarily their motives, in my opinion, are that of Martial Sportsman.

    Z

  • @andyiz chi sau is just a training exercise. just like when you see UFC fighters kicking a sandbag, it has nothing to do with real fighting.

im not saying that Yip chung is a defenseless old man.. but i dare to say that any young man with a few years of experience in wing chun (or almost any other martial art) would have an advantage. 80 years gives you experience, yes, but get real :) respect the man for his teaching, not what he could do in a fight

  • @MuayThaiViking Yes it DOES! It has EVERYTHING to do with it. It teaches you to read, trap, and break through your opponent!

  • @MuayThaiViking Also, if you've seen him you'd know just how fast that old man can be.

  • @TenteixSaigo and how fragile he is. all respect to him, im just being realistic. the idea of an ancient grandmaster beating up young fighters is romantic, but it doesnt fit in reality. anyway stupid discussion im done :)

  • @MuayThaiViking He's got great defense, but he's too old to use most offense. He won't beat them up, but they won't beat him up either. His brother, though, is still a beast.

  • @MuayThaiViking i once saw an 80 year old man knock out a 22 year old man with one punch to the face and the 22 year old was an avid boxer

  • @actionmanrandell lol what a way to contribute. so whats this avid boxers name? everbody can come with arguments like that with no backup.

  • @MuayThaiViking i dont know his name but i saw him box at a few times and i know he regularly attended a boxing gym

  • @actionmanrandell and then he got assaulted by a 80 year old man? something doesnt add up ;)

  • @MuayThaiViking no he didnt get asulted by an 80 year old man they were sparring and he was stuped and let the old guy have a free shot and he knocked out

  • @actionmanrandell a free shot? a strong 80 year old person can still pack a good punch, but the essence in this discussion is wether a 80 year old man with a lifetime of experience has an edge against a young skilled fighter. and NO they dont. theres are reason why people retire and go coaching at the age of about 35 years. rules or no rules doesnt matter, the physique of a young man is just too big an advantage

  • @MuayThaiViking no my entire point was that an 80 year old man can knock out a young man

  • @actionmanrandell hey u think wing chun is so easy go and challenge him i bet u will lose not because he stuped and let him its how fast u attack a sport are u sure he let him look closely their hands dumb.

  • @benson879 first off i never said wing chun is easy and i never said i could beat him. and second off all you make no sense

  • @andyiz I like watching UFC, but it's not real martial arts. It's just a more violent ring-fight than boxing. It's still sport-fighting. There is not a single MMA who could beat Ip Chun, Dan Inosanto, or Paul Vunak. If you put Anderson Silva or Fedor against any one of those 3 in a real fight, then it would be Silva or Fedor being carried out on a stretcher.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain only read you post, but Fedor would crush Ip Chun! Please be realistic.

  • @SelfPL I'm the one who IS being realistic. It's obvious from your reply that you've most likely never studied martial arts. If you did, then it's never been outside of the U.S. I spent 5 years in the Philippines (my company transferred me) and got the chance to study REAL Kali, not the watered-down version of Martial Arts we have here in the States, in my freetime.

  • @SelfPL There were Marines studying under the same master. They were all bigger and badder than Fedor, who's nothing more than a glorified ring fighter, could ever be. Every one of them got tossed around and absolutely manhandled by a teacher who wasn't too much bigger than Ip Chun. You can't judge real Martial Arts by what you see in sport-fighting tournaments. Those guys fight for a belt and a purse, just like a bunch of women at a Macy's sale.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain Don't assume too much. I don't live in the united states and I do practice martial arts. Opinion is a matter of references. No doubt a small guy can beat up bigger guys, but don't underestimated the like of fedor and such.

But it doesn't really matter, this video shows the living legend Ip chun is!

  • @SelfPL Great reply. Very true about Ip. Sorry if my reply was more of a tangent. I've tried to hold legitimate, open discussions with people about Martial Arts and MMA. So many people have jumped on the UFC bandwagon that it's almost impossible to do so.

Anyway, I do have a tremendous amount of respect for Fedor. There's no doubt in my mind that I could take the first punch, but the second one would make me go lights out.

  • @SelfPL There's just something amazing about these little Yoda-looking masters. They don't move incredibly fast, they're not amazingly strong, and they're as shakey as can be. But when they hit you, it's like getting hit by a golf club. Like I wrote before, I do respect Fedor. But, there's a difference between sport fighters and martial artists. What are your thoughts on Fedor vs. someone like Vladimir Vasiliev (I just threw this name out there because of the better size matchup)?

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain I have no idea. I've watched some vids of Vasiliev with great wonder. I would like to train with him (and Ryabko) to feel what it's all about (I'm still a bit skeptic about certain aspects). Just like wing chun / tsun / tsjun / ... you have to feel it to understand it. Once you got you references straight, you can see a lot, but you have to feel it first!

There is no point in asking yourself who'll win. Just train what you like most for yourself, and keep your eyes open!!!

  • @andyiz ip chun may not be some UFC fighter, but he can knock them down for sure =)
