The Marines really out did themselves with this recruiting tool. It is certainly on par with the Navy's new "The Call To Serve" piece. Both were designed primarily for theater presentation on a big screen. Both returned record numbers of enlistments and commissions. Good men and women are out there but they dwell in a counter culture world of doubt and cynicism from peers and the media. The best future leaders this country will have will be this generation of warriors. Thank God.

Has no one noticed the irony of the final scene - those Marines lined up along the San Francisco hill, Golden Gate bridge in background. The City that would not allow them to stand on their bridge to make the commercial, who refused the ship to dock. This is the best part of the ad - a big 'in your face' to SF. The story was that the Marines didn't get the proper permit in time - a permit to be on the streets leading up TO the bridge, not even on the bridge! Right... What a bunch of crap. They had permits out the gazoo but one was not absolutely property filled out. It was just an excuse they found. Like they wouldn't let the Navy ship dock there last summer, either. What a place. But the Marines will fight for them anyway.
