  • @bilal1001 THAT WASNT NECESSARY! BOTH SONGS R NICE!

  • so.

    who was first?

    jamie or pharrell? :o

  • @NinaJelka pharrell, JC makes remix's of other artists' songs

  • @NinaJelka pharrell :)

  • Very hot interpretation of an already great song/arrangement. I really can't tell you which one I like best. They're both dynamite.

  • Lol that "teeaarr... yo ass up" at 0:49 was what made me like/save to playlist this. That shit did it for me.

  • I knew when I saw him supporting Tuck & Patti at the Union Chapel, Islington, that he would do some great stuff. This is a quality cover, but imagine how good it would be to hear Pharell harmonising on this too... anyone know of such a collabo?

  • @JayBlanche I wish.. i wish..

  • Mr. Cullum, you are super hot, super funky and fucking awesome!!!

  • He first did this on Jo Whileys show on Radio 1, in the Live Lounge, where the guest are asked to cover a song that they would not normally be associated with, and he did this. Audience reaction was massive, and a few DJs played it over the course of the week. A week later Pharell was in the Radio 1 studios being interviewed and the DJ played him this. His reaction was something along the lines of "Damn,,,, that's a white boy?" and immediately asked for a copy to be made from the DAT.

  • the first rap cover i like the others are wack but there biased ass fans love them

  • i can play that one too =)

  • uum.. yum.

  • wow so much groove in it i have to admit i like his version better tham pharrells though i am a huge p fan

  • y so funky?

  • i want him so bad :D

  • time when he used to play good (not gay...ops..pop) songs

  • i love that jamie can cover ANY song..from frank to pharrell....he is truly an artist :)

  • karenrivall@yahoo.com

  • Yeah still cool x

  • Quite the creative cover! I just performed a version of this out @ Life on Wilshire in L.A.. That break in the middle is somethin' serious!

  • love you k

  • sucks. i like kobe better

  • I like it!

  • the final part at 02:37 is very very similar to a fragment of the song "Inversions" by Incognito !! almost the same

  • Not a fan of his singing, but the jazz styling was a pretty cool take on it :D

  • COnhe cia a versão dos neptunes, mas essa ficou muito bacana também....

    @D_lemes

  • awesome, breathtaking!!!

  • amoooooooo de mais todos as musicas dele .. ainda mais essa! =]]]]]]]]

  • me encanta el tema y el video :)

  • 2:37 wonderful!!!!!!

  • Pharrell is a snazzy producer himself, but this cover is really worth raving about. Love the jazz. I love Jamie!

  • THIS MTF IS FUNKY.........

  • Where and when was this if you please, and thanks for the post. :D

  • Jazz puro e da melhor qualidade!!! Amazing!!!

  • many artists cover songs and to be honest i hate it but when it is jamie cullum i start loving it

  • Awesome! Pharrell masterminded the beat etc., but the cover made it jazzy and great. Not to mention the voice!

  • WOW!

  • Great :)

  • Jazz is THE sh*t!

    :D

  • 2:36 is the Shit!

  • @hollowman113 yeah man, the piano/bass doubling, so sick

I just wish he didn't swing his solo section... straight bridges in swing tracks is such a dope sound

  • sing it Jamie, represent for the UK 1 talented guy

  • I've been thinking about learning this song, but do you really think most of Cullum's songs would sound good on solo? I mean, no backing band, I have no idea...

  • Yes, it does. This is actually the first time I've heard the song with the backing band.

  • I mean no drums, or bass at all. Just the piano...

  • Does anyone know what/where this performance is from?

  • Damn, If you had a piano at home, and you brought a chick back with you from a night out... play this to her and sing it to her, I swear.. it would be something she would NEVER forget!

  • @JORDIxRx

dude.. i am a nerd and thats the only way i can get laid ! :)

bring back a chick .. and play the piano and sing ;) ( check out my songs ;)

  • @dariuspajouh

Haha!! Yeah, I sure will check out your uploads, thanks dude..

  • @JORDIxRx

It´s magical... if a guy is playing the piano, it makes him so much sexier ...even if he looks like a 12 year old ;)

  • @1stLyla Hahaa!! And if he sings like Jamie? :)

  • @JORDIxRx that would make it much better! =)

  • The bass is amazing too

  • Smashing music..........

    great chord music and voice

    jazzy and swingy

    Love it

    Luis

  • can somebody teach me how to play this song on piano?

  • <3 iLOVEiT :D this version is the best ^^

  • i liked the original, but this version made it to the mp3. love this man.

  • i love pharrel but this is sic

  • you must listen flavio rodriguez K-funk Frontin

  • play that funking music white boy

  • @DjprofesserK hihih kool and the gang right

  • i love it!!!!!!!!

  • Lol@people who think the original is better. this is much better than the original

  • such a great upright bass line:)

  • lol@people who think this is better than the original.

I respect the cover though, nice idea behind it.

The original is my favorite song, though.

  • haha dont get me wrong, n.e.r.d is my favourite all time group, but i think this cover is better than the original imo. its a different sound, i like it :)

  • I'm not trying to rip into you too much....but how is n.e.r.d your favorite group???

  • their sound is fresh, different from most. pharrel on production knows no limits, and his voice clashes perfectly

  • i think he could have been a little more metaphorical between the lyrics and the piano... when he says "fast" he could speed up his fingering, when he says "slow" .,..you get the idea...he misses the boat on a lot of creative scene changes... still amazing despite...

  • maybe he didn't want to be cliche..

  • man i love this song so much, sorry about my comments 6 months ago :(

  • this version is dope...smoooth... took the song to another level.

  • I love this cat. He is necessary to today's art.

  • lol cat... haha ha but he is good

  • Even though this is a cover, might as well call it an original by Jamie cullum. He rips this track to shreds!

  • this is one of the best covers ive ever heard, he owns it!!!

  • This is just brilliant, one of Jamie's best covers. He also happens to be the sexiest men on the planet which helps.

  • I like Jamie's take on this song, but I must say that I love the quietness of Pharell's original. This is an amazing jazzy alternative tho.

  • you are right! this version is way classier than pharell's. the slickest remake i've ever heard, cheers!

  • I just lllllllove the little spark in his eyes when he first sings "I was going to tear ya' ass up"...

He's so excellent at making any unexpected song his. Deep deep bow to Mr Cullum. He managed to make this song a new one in fact: nothing to do with the original !!!

  • wow that was sick

  • He is amazing.

    And so cute!

  • This is amazing. I find its much better than Pharrell's version.

  • I think Luckillius lives in on the ground floor without elevators in the building. This is everything but elevator music!Very surprising, great version of Pharrell's Frontic.Shows Jamie Cullum's versatility, singing and swinging with Burt Bacharach one day, moving him (the man who's seen and heard it all)and then this (and all the other individual, typical Jamie Cullum interpretations).I think it's pretty awesome. He reminds me of Tania Maria here and this guy's not even 30!Thanks for the post, ppa10

  • he had a good day , very good one .

and this is not elevator music ... this is jazzy cover, at least jamie's voice sounds normal not like a man without balls.

  • It's funny how European covers tend to be better than the original when it's a take on an American hip-hop song.

  • il est moche mais chante super bien lol

  • PHARRELL WHO?

  • pharrell fail maybe? haha

  • This version is just so yum. Did he record it? I want to play it at a dinner party. -x-

  • Amazing piano solo!!! Love you Jamie :)

  • Haha this is great! I loved the original, and Jamie doesn't bring anything but his best to this fun cover.

  • pharell?? this is soooo much better!

  • this is a chill cover ! love it :D

  • ppl dont feed the trolls Jamie Cullum rocks end of story and grow up ffs if u dont know what im talking about look down

  • This fucker rocks..YAAAAA

  • adds a unique style to the original pharrell- frontin...cullum is cool

  • Man, I'm thankful for Jamie Cullum. The "cover tune" is a lost art, but he makes me realize that their IS hope for the current crop of "artists" out there. All the R&B cats who are out there re-making tunes need to take a lesson from this guy: HAVE SOME IMAGINATION. R&B and even much jazz is sorely LACKING in imagination these days...all music really, but cats like Jamie C. remind of the days when there could be three COMPLETELY different version of the same song released inside a year.

  • Odawg96, well said.

    Jamie is kickin serious butt.

Talk about a breath of fresh air!

    He's doin great!

  • Nice, unique vocals and the jazz accompaniment on the piano is awesome.

  • Lmao i love how this comments like movin on swiftly from the weiiird argument goin on below! Ha I agree with what you said to ;)

    x

  • cool!

  • such a brilliant version

  • who did this song orginally?

  • pharell from the neptunes

  • but honestly, he is simply amazing

  • lol, i love the massive, complecated description: 'Jamie' lol

  • your crazy. this is the jam

  • He is SO cool : D

  • He is simply great...and so cute!

  • Wow. He's got mad skill

  • seanpizzy negro plz stfu....

  • Great job with this song...loved it!

  • too gay? obviously you know nothing... This is a brilliant remake version of the original but Pharrell did right it for The Neptunes and that is equally as heavy...

  • Q artistazo.

  • damn it's an awesome cover.

    i love the original too.

  • DAMN. nice. neo-jazz eh.. sounds very awesome tho!

  • Awesomeness.

  • I love his interpretation of this song and others...Slammin'!!!
