hey nice set up, im a huge honda nissan guy but have had my fair share of fords. currently i have a 500hp s2000 but as a side project i just picked up a 1990 240sx. and laying in my garage out of my old merkur i have a 2.3L motor with a holeset turbo from a dodge cummins. made great power in the merkur. but im going to drop the engine into my 240sx and going with a blowthrough carb. i was looking into the holley 350 2bbl. just curious what a good set up is if i was looking for the 400hp mark.
Thanks for all the positive comments. To dienamic productions, what's a shame? My 4 banger intimidates you? Stop hate'in! To all who like my vid, I'm going to start a new prodject. Going to sell the engine and tranny. Email @ joshsvoturbo @ yahoo. Props to my friend for posting this vid. Btw to some who asked, yes it's carbureted.

looks great! bet it runs right up there with the fuel injected ones. only question is the alternator bracket right underneath the alternator why didn't you cut the part out that held the power steering pump? is it going back on or did u just leave it?
@thyreapu No the non turbo turbo 2.3s come with cast pistons, rods, crank, and higher compression-the turbo 2.3s have forged crank, pistons, and rods from the factory with a lower boost-friendly compression ratio
@thyreapu nooooo. not really even close. i have a stock 2.3 right now (and a swap 2.3 turbo motor yet to install). i know the turbo has forged pistons and a different shaped cylinder head mainly, but there's several other differences.
@502apples That is a 4 Banger not a V6, Dumbass. Turbo's actually reduce MPG but increase power output, Dumbass. There is an Air/Fuel mixture that has to be maintained. If you increase Air by 50% you need to Increase Fuel by 50% or your going to lean it out, Dumbass.
@Hotarihanzo no DUMB ASS, if driven correctly, and not boosting all the time, you get better mpg, go google somthing before you start leading ppl to bullshit, thanks
@Hotarihanzo actually i have a 2.3 stock right now and it gets 23 mpg and WITH a turbo motor it gets 24 highway. i understand what your saying about the increase in air and therefore fuel, but think about it. at cruising speed, your not really boosting, so it is even with a n/a there. under acceleration the turbo would use more fuel for a short time, but it would also get to cruising speed much faster than the n/a motor, so by the time the n/a car gets up to speed, its used as much or more fuel
Hey NYSVO! We dig blow-thru 2.3s. Can you give us some details on your setup? 350 Holley or 500? Who's exhaust manifold are you using? How much turbo & boost can you get away with on blow-thru? Respect.
With Volvo heads, these things will go blow for blow with G22/G23 builds. H22s/H23s are good damn engines though. Only problem is that H engines don't come fully forged like these do. The FRM liners don't help much with serious boost #s either.
@akabane1984 true but put 5 gs in a lude and they will whoop a shit ton of cars hell mines almost stock besides greddy exhaust and cai and some other shit and i merk on alot of cars psht people under estimate preludes theyre a whole nother honda fuck civics and accords
i have a bone stock gt turbo, non intercooled svo basically, and i can spank nearly any civic, the one's that get away from me are the ones with 4 or 5 grand in the whole car, so like 1-2 grand in the motor, i think, btw i race at a dragstrip, not on the street
you serious? they came factory rated (underrated at about 180hp)so that the v8 guys would keep buying 5.0's. You have mild to wild setups running 9's. You can get away with 11's on a solid build for a daily driver..
Ive thought about a blow through carb for my 79 stang, but people in mustangforums dot com told me it was a dumb idea. Is that carb a 4 barrel? I wanna get some kinda aftermarket carb for my stang if I decide to keep the 4cyl motor. I have lots of videos up, tell Josh to check em out! And tell him to keep up the good work on the stang ;]
is this running the head with 8 plugs? i have the one that only has 4 plugs and i wanna know if switching to the 8 plug head is worth it
