  • i'm eager to try mine out with LBP2. It would ROCK the level editor.

  • What you need to remember is that nowadays USB is a very generic concept....anything that connects via USB to a USB-equipped machine is capable of working with it. Typical example, an external HDD works with my SKY HD+ box.

  • @medilegal999 Note the date of posting & also the fact that at the time most Wacom devices needed (and I think still do) special drivers to function properly. Since you can't install drivers on your PS3, it's kind of cool that it works well without them.

  • I don't think so because it seems to view the tablet as a generic mouse. It won't load any drivers. Come to think of it, I wonder if my new Intuos4 will work at all. I'll have to try that when I get home.

  • Would a Wacom Cintiq 21UX work with the PS3?

  • AHH!!! EAR RAPE PINGING (due to high quality speakers 3:>)

  • Those speakers he has are the sex.

We have in the recording studio at school on the Mac Pro.

    They sound amazing.

  • @Mongoman999 Thanks. Yeah man, they are M-Audio Studio Monitors. Music and my PS3 sound soo good on them.

  • Im on ps3 with Tablet !!!! yayy thanx

  • Ha :) didtn think that way :) will have to try connect mine tablet to ps3. btw what is that game on 2:03 ?

Doing graphic designing aswell. Just bought ps3. can U recomend some nice games which can spark on creativity and grow som new ideas?

  • It's actually an Anime called Samurai 7. What kind of art are you into? How are you looking to be inspired? Im sure I can recommend something.

  • Little Big Planet

  • Thanks.

  • its pronounced wah-com. anyways. cool vid.

  • LittleBigPlanet is best xD

  • hey dude please tell me what is the name of the monitors you are useing for your ps3 in the video it looks soo kool on ps3

  • It's a 24" Gateway. Yeah I actually use it with my PS3 more than my flat screen because the color reproduction is so rich. I love it.

  • LittleBigPlanet+Tablet=Über Creation Quality Accessed.

  • COOL

  • Um....yeah...sure.

  • Its kinda obvious that the wacom tablet works with the PS3. :P

The PS3 is basicly a computer

    Its logic. Lol

  • ahh man I can imagine playing UT3 with that thing

  • I always thought about doing this with mine, just never did, thanks for posting. as for this working in a game, I've seen a video where they used a mouse and keyboard (on PS3) to control Unreal Tournament 3. so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to use a wacom in-game, as long as the game supports mouse controls.

  • where do u rechard ur ps3 contorl

  • My monitor has a USB hub so I plug them into the back of the monitor.

  • cool i didnt know that , would be fun to use in games though :D

  • omg I'm about to try it ^_^

Seriously though have you seen that tank game in which the camera captures what your drew. Just imagine if they make some sort of game that fully supports tablets. something like Okami, that would be awesome @_@

  • O yeah that one that the Sony dev guy was working on. Just imagine the stuff that some good artists could make.

  • yeah exactly, plus there could be some good party games with it like the one in shockwave except better.

I would imagine that this would com in handy with something like Little Big Planet since dragging the objects would be made 100x more simpler or just imagine if you could morph or apply texture to the objects using the tablet. All sorts of possibilities so hopefully sony will make it more compatible but I'd imagine it would be more costly since tablets aren't cheap

  • One person had mentioned the possibility of drawing your own textures for objects in the game. What about a Pictionary type game or a game that would have you draw to progress like drawing in bridges of even guns and tanks. Sorta like what you were saying. There are so many things you could do with this.

I can only hope that someone with the know how to exploit this sees this video and becomes inspired.

  • The price would be prohibitive. Some of the cheaper ones run about 70 bucks but that is about the same price as buying a Guncon which as far as I know only works with one game. If they could make this work with many game it could be worth it. Civilization Revolution comes to mind.

  • nice find!

  • u got some good quality for this vid usually youtube messes with videos and makes the quality poor

  • I know and I didn't do anything special. I just recorded it and uploaded it without any changes and a couple people have told me the same thing. Guess my camera is just good for this sort of thing.

  • Question: on the ps3, does the tablet operate in conventional mouse style, as in a dragging cursor, or will the cursor "jump" if you lift the pen and relocate it to another part of the tablet?

  • It won't jump as it doesn't do any mapping.

  • Thats what i like about the ps3, its compatibility

  • Hey, my major is Graphic Design, looks like I'll be using one of those in the future

  • Once you start using a pen and tablet for design you never want to go back to drawing/manipulating with a mouse aka the bar of soap. It just allows for so much more control especially if your an illustrator.

  • Thats sick dude ...nice vid

  • Thanks dude. I'll try to keep them coming as I stumble upon new things.

  • that's cool I'm going to buy one. how much does the tablet cost?

  • They one I have is a Wacom Intuos3 4x6 Wide Format Pen Tablet so it is one of the smaller ones and it runs a little over $200 depending on where you get it.

  • Cool, becareful with how close your PS3 is to other objects, make sure you got a fan on it or some kind of space. If I recall it needs at least 5 inches in every direction.

  • Bah. My PS3 sits right next to my receiver - maybe an inch of space between. Yes, both get quite warm, but neither has any problem running all night together.

  • Awesome, thanks for sharing.

I'm curious, did you try games that support keyboard and mouse, like Unreal Tournament 3?

Either way, add me. PSN ID: Grunj

  • No I don't have that game so I haven't tried that But I'm curious how it'd feel.

  • added.

  • Sweet, thanks.

Yeah, it'd definitely be interesting to try and play with a stylus. Do you have any other games that support keyboard & mouse (I'm not even sure there ARE any others yet)

  • I don't think there are either. I haven't really tested it with anything except a few PSN titles. I thought Pixel Junk Monster would be cool and might have a chance at working but it got no response.

  • nice vid :D 10/10

  • Thanks. Hopefully I can keep finding cool stuff to share.

  • i wasnt listening cause i was watching boogie nights, but i guess you cant play games,or i didnt see you playn a game.maybe someone will make a driver or wotever be like the ds lol

  • I would love to try this out on a FPS. I'm waiting for someone to make a drawing game :)

  • what animz was that?

  • Not sure it is the previews on the Shinobi disc. Um let me check for you.....Ok, It was for Samurai 7.

  • Neat, I've got the Wacom ET-0405A-U "Steel Blue", works. Probably just keep it on my Mac though. Good video.

  • Hey thanks. I was a little nervous about posting. I'm generally kind of shy but I thought other people would care to know about it so here it is. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Yeah, cool that you tried it out. I have plugged my keyboard in the PS3 before, but I just assumed the tablet wouldn't work. I generally use my tablet on my computer when my mousing arm gets tired. I'm left handed for writing, so I keep my tablet on the left, but I mouse with my right, so I can alternate between them. ;P A drawing game for PS3 would be neat, like that flash game where you draw the levels, Sled something...?
