Say for instant he has in standard tunning at first. When you put the capo it just make the pitch higher. It still like standard but just higher in chords. It easier to sing too. Thats my knowledge of it. =)

if it sounds like in standard, then it means hes de-tuned the guitar to a different tuning, and the capo makes it standard tuning
