Ohhh... sparkly... I love the crystal flicker! Wonder how one could go about finding more of those McD's Avatar figure parts...? Certainly a unique and awesome feature! Nicely done, my friend! :)
@greytale it's taking 1.5A since the luxeon is driven by my own dimmer/driver board, in its MR compatible version, and I found some speed settings for the light that are almost perfectly matching the duration of the sounds !
@SonOfAdam94 indeed, a mcdonald avatar toy, a great found by another smith. The sound of the MR board was linked to the toy in place of the mike that was in the toy, result is a glow matching the sound enveloppe !
would you be able to give a bit more detail on how you utilized teh avatar toy's internals to control the flicker?
perhaps even some pictures of the toy itself, some details on wiring, etc.?
AMAZING job.

Just thought to ask after posting my initial comment... is it still feeding only ~350mA into the main LED? That is to say, the red one...

Very nice Starkiller Erv. This will be great to see with a CFV5 installed!

Peace be upon you
Great work Erv! What did you use to create the flicker effect in the crystal? Did you say you used a piece from an Avatar toy?

That is one of the best starkillers I've ever seen... It's awesome...
Maybe little too much weathering in the top section IMO.
Why is the crystal blue, but the blade red?
Any ETA on the CFV5? Just "soon"?
