the key is to write the licks down in advance and just string them together. another cool trick i used thanks to digital is i record my playing real slow 80 bpm ex. -- playing lyrical so it makes sense melodically. after wards i sped it up and it sounded like pat metheny! anyway just try to play along fast till you're flying like this. its a cheat but it worked for me.
Absolutely stellar performance by two of the finest guitarists the world has ever known! Dandy solo by the bassist as well. Although the video capture is somewhat spotty, the audio portion is solid and there are some nice close ups of these talented hands at work! I can easily understand the difficulty of concentrating on a video while these two masters were performing!
I'm glad I got to meet Lenny at Dantes in N. Hollywood a few weeks before he died/murdered? He was one cool cat. Theres a video of John McLaughlin performing this jam on the tonight show with Johnny Carson back in the 80's on you tube thats also amazing.
Madness & Genius. Can anyone put it any other words?I certainly can't.Amazing, the desire to aquire this level of musical skill for us to admire and learn from.Awesome.
Fantastici tutti e due. Grandi !!!!! Appena posso mi tiro giù qualche bella frase del grande Tal Farlow. La vera chitarra JAZZ . L'arte dell'improvvisazione !!!!
I believe this series of videos are the second camera used in the Tal Farlow video. If you look at the original Tal Farlow video (and you should own it...it is fabulous) many of these sequences are on the video, except from a different camera angle. RC
the bass player was kind of a douche with that weird solo

The guy filming this knew exactly what people watching this wanted to see. Lenny and Tal's fingers. Thank you, video guy.
