  • you should look at .50 cal molds te=hey have a built in peace to cut the exsese

  • @beanssissy1235z What would I do with .50 cal molds? These are 1.75" in size. These are for a cannon not a rifle. lol

  • @HollowForm222 im talking about looking at them and upscale it to make your own better one

  • @HollowForm222 this is the second time im saying this they have a great design for the mold use the design and make a new mold that is better can you read straight

  • @beanssissy1235z No need to get shitty. I get what you are saying. Thank you for the comment.

  • @HollowForm222 im sorry for that i got a little agrivated but you see what im saying nnow it might bee cool to look into

  • looks like grenades xD

  • They look like grenades ...

  • That is a neat process and interesting to watch :)

  • That was very cool to watch, thanks!

  • love the look of melted lead

  • That's one nice mold! For people that do not have a lathe, you can buy commercial "cannonball" fishing molds. Then polish off the weight markings in the mold and polish interior if you like shiney. Drop out brand graphite spray helps to cut molding time. Also can grind an edge on a washer and weld a rod on the side. Drill 1/2 way into graphite and attatch two graphite cups for the mold. Drill down the seam for a pour channel....

  • Think you guys have found the "secret" for smooth shiny cannonballs. I discovered when I was casting bullets that pre-heating the mould works best for a nice finish. The cold mould ones would always have a haze or surface imperfections that arn't there after the mould heats up. If I remember my Lee Loader pot said that in the instructions ...but who reads instructions? ;)

  • @jacktheripped What secret? lol And yeah, we always heat up the mold first. We have to or it doesn't work right.

  • were did you get the mold

  • @saiaddict He made it himself.

  • @HollowForm222 :0 that is sweet

  • i want one they look like grenades=3

  • @MrLegoguy89 That's what I thought when I was making them!! lol Good observation.

  • isnt the lead a lil toxic ?

  • @farshad94abedi Not sure where you are going with this question....

  • what do je do with the lead balls?

  • @ballygeale1 Shoot them out of a cannon.....

  • are those exactly 1 pound balls?? cause if so i want a mold and would pay 100 dollars for 1 if you sell them

  • @son8god8damn This ball mold was custom fabricated in a machine shop. He made it more for hobby and personal use than wanting to make and sell them.

  • @son8god8damn He said he would consider making another one tho.

  • start with lead chips..it will melt 10 minutes faster

  • There has to be a better way to fight the government.

  • @Downfacingdog Well, diplomacy and politics sure hasn't worked to do it. lol

  • @TheSuperspudnik No. I suggest looking online to begin with though. Place an ad somewhere?

  • HollowForm222 the mold and the tools

  • @Swedishbombmaker The mold was custom fabricated in a machine shop.

  • @HollowForm222 how much did it cost to have made? have u considered making it out of alum?

great job, really looks good, the balls look great also.

  • @normdoty No sure way to say the value of it, was made from just scrap steel he had at his disposal and his own labor to make it. Thank you for the comments.

  • i thought that cannonballs are made out o iron :P

  • @MrOlekul Not these. lol

  • @HollowForm222 would it be easier to break one lead ingot to start melting it then add the whole ones later

  • @Eight8411 It didn't make a whole lot of difference as to the size of it, once it got hot enough and started melting it went pretty fast, but there is a rule that the smaller the size the quicker it heats up, melts etc. We left a small pool in the bottom of the pot for heating up later so that it would go quicker tho. Hope that helps.

  • where did u bye that stuff?

  • @Swedishbombmaker Which stuff?

  • Chuck Norris lunch stew.

  • I am afraid, making Iron Cannonballs isn't that easy :(

  • @LutzDerLurch That's for sure!!

  • AWSOME!

  • ya gota love what ya do. great shit boys

  • THAT IS AWESOME!!!

  • @myketheoneill Thanks!

  • @gummiman01 As I stated in the description, he custom made it himself.

  • I made a mold based on that design, finally tried it tonight and my funnel was too short, it cooled too fast and plugged the hole, also less then ideal heating, small wood fire and squatting on the west ground, in the dark, flashlight in my teeth.

    Fack. :)

Worked with some candle wax though so I know it works.

  • @clancy6969 Well, the biggest thing is you have to have your mold hot before you pour into it or it wont work right, but then, I would have to see what you were doing to really know what is wrong. Good luck with that. ;)

  • @HollowForm222

I had it pretty hot, but maybe not hot enough, I drilled out the funnel today so we'll see.

  • @clancy6969 sometimes my fishing weight molds will do that if i dont clean all the gunk og the top on my pot. you know like all the impurities in the lead

  • Me like this video, but it is very harmfull to breathe near molten lead, there must have been a vent or something. Lead builds up in the bones over time and eventually kills.

  • @Bombermanos Did you happen to notice we were doing this outside? lol And we don't do this often. So our lead exposure time is pretty limited.

  • Very nice work you could probably use the balls for a large ball mill Btw where did you get the Lead from was it expensive?

  • @rgmcall My buddy works as a machinist and got it through his work.

  • @rgmcall the caption says 1000 grain lead balls but I heard a guy say 7000 grains. 7000 is 1 lb. I cast some .451 and .490 balls routinely and they run between 138 and 175 grains. a 16 oz. slug oughta make a politician scamper.....ROFL!!!

  • @TheArtbell OOPS. lol Yeah I made a typo. They are 7000 grain. Thanks for noticing that. I fixed it. Thanks for the comment!!

  • wow, really cool video

  • where did you get that mold????

if you made it please put up a video of how you did make it :)

    i subed

  • @xxABIGBOYxx It was custom fabricated by my friend in the video a long time ago. If he makes another one I will try to film it. Thanks.

  • @xxABIGBOYxx

If you could ever make it, you should just be able to make one from looking at that one like I did, otherwise you can buy them online, search for lead ball mold. (or show this video to a machinist)

  • Labels warning that a product contains compounds that may cause cancer, birth defects, or reproductive harm are now required on many household items sold in California. But because many companies use the same labels for products sold in other states, people anywhere in the US may see them and have questions. The warning labels can be found on all sorts of products, such as electrical wires, padlocks, dishes, flashlights, and pesticides, to name just a few.

    lead is bad..lol

  • @BUBBAdaPIMP Not in this case.....lol

  • @HollowForm222 No but for the ones on the receiving end..lol

  • Great Video !

  • Sweet...cant wait to see them fly

  • just like the kid said at 3:45 'That's cool... that's cool!' hahah

  • @samurai165 Yeah, that neighbor kid was a pain in the ass the whole time. I had to edit out a lot of good footage he ruined blabbering incessantly. Wouldn't bugger off and kept wanting to help.

  • been a long time since I did that. You going to have more on the cleanup and usage?

  • @usframe They are going to be shot as they are. And yeah, the usage should be coming soon!!
