What all you Macross puriest need to remember is you would not have your Macross if Robotech was never made and shown in the states. It raised awarness for anime and opened the flood gates. I my self enoy Macross more than Robotech but all you do by bitching about is make your selves look bad as well as other people who like Macross. Robotech was a means to an end - to show all 3 series in syndication which required at least 50 episodes at the time if I remember. Carl Macek combined story lines to reduce confusion. I disagree with certain name changes and plot premises, but as Venturi01 stated it did allow everybody to see all 3 series. By the way Im a Hardcore MACROSS fan, I was collecting Imai and Arii kits years before I saw Robotech. But it was the only way i could see it for the first time...

The first 36 episodes or so of Robotech are pretty much exactly the same as Macross other than a few name changes, I don't know why fans get their panties in a bunch about it.

Now, if I was a fan of Southern Cross or MOSPEADA, I'd be pissed, because those series got mangled.

It's not the entire song, just that first verse. It's part of a Medley CD that includes other anime, such as Gundam, Armored Trooper Votoms, Gatchaman, MazingerZ, Getter Robo, and about 25+ more.
