@electra4554 The most powerful car I've driven is barely 105 HP Seat Toledo, I'm daily driving Fiat Uno 45 HP, for me this Buick is a fuckin' demonic machine.
My brother had one of those. It had a two speed automatic, I think. He gave it a stomp on the freeway going about 55 and the downshift was so gloriously violent, and the acceleration so brutal, that we nearly wet ourselves. A really under rated performance car.
First off, that car looks to good to have been sitting for 20 years. Maybe he sold it 20 years ago, but that paint would be far worse if it had sit neglected in the weather for that long. Second, i know that Buick is mean fast, but when you are drinking, it must seem like the fastest thing with wheels. Save it if you can!!!!
@jerywilliams The video does say that he has not seen it in 20 years, the current owner could have been still driving it around hence clean paint, new carb and wires.
It's actually quite beautiful as is. I'd rather drive that un-rusted, yet weathered beast with bad chrome instead of having a vulgar shiny museum piece to drive on sundays.
I'm glad he made it through the bad times, I hope he can reclaim the car, age will have slowed him down as it does to us all. I think this car was, and is his way back to some serious self esteem, he must have looked after it well for it to last so well after he passed it on. It's almost shouting at him to take it home, the way everything is in his movement around it, it's his at the core of himself.
@TheFordsforme The doors have vent windows, and the handles are pull-down, which makes it a '51 - '52. The '47 - '50 Chevys had no vent windows. The '53 had push-button door handles.
@sd31263 i have a 47 a 53 and a 50 . the fifty is close to being on the road the other two are taken apart. i just said 47-53 i didnt say for sure and people change the doors from time to time my 53 has no vents and should have i think somewhere along the lines the doors were changed .ahh anyway was the truck saved to?
owner needs to scrap all those other junks laying around and then maybe he will realize that the rivs should be sold for Any price to someone who will save them.
theres 700 dollars worth of car at scrap price..
or you can pick parts off it and it rots away forever, and make maybe a grand or two off parts
This is pretty touching to watch being that i love classic cars so much.I cant believe some peeps here dont know its a Riviera & not a Wildcat.Ill forgive u guys if ur like 20yrs old or younger.
@Freddy4190 The old coot wants 10k for three Rivieras? I don't think that's too outlandish considering the blue one is hardly a parts car. $10,000 doesn't buy much anymore, but if you can get one decent big block Riv with potential, plus two other cars, I'd say it's money well spent.
@dirtbiker4lfe Dude, I wish. The guy that owns it now wants $10,000 for all 3 Rivi's in the video. I'd kill to have this car. It's ridiculously fast from all the stories my dad has told me. He's owned Cobras, Challengers, Cuda's, you name it he's had it. He said this blows the doors off them all. He told me he could tape a $100 bill to the dash, tach it up and if you could reach the money you could have it.
why is it every time your father looks at the car you move the camera away to some other direction?

Actualy its rated at 340HP with 1 X 4barrel carb and 360HP with a second 4 barrel and was a monster torker, not too bad for an early 60's ;)
