this reminds me of the manifest destiny motto that nearly wiped out the Native American peoples.

I feel for the aboriginals there and everywhere for losing not only their lands and ways of life, but for us who lost a beautiful lifestyle to emulate and the knowledge that their culture provided to us. Living more in harmony with the land and nature would allow us to solve so many of the world's problems.
