Blacks have always been willing to vote overwhelmingly to support a white candidate whether it was their only choice or not. The Clintons themselves have enjoyed that support before they went divisive and negative down racial lines. Blacks will continue to support the best candidate regardless of race or gender. There is a difference in voting for someone and against.
Blacks have proven their ability to vote for white candidates and the exit poles which show a large number of whites in Kentucky and WV are voting against Barack simply because he is black and for that reason only. They have admitted that race is a deal breaker for them and there in lies the problem. Everyone did not admit this as this is not an easy fact to own up to.

As a longtime resident of OH, PA, and MI, which are other states accused of supporting Clinton out of racism, I have to disagree with this take. I think Clinton clinched WVa due to her more aggressive health care plan. If you drive thru WVa and listen to public radio, everything is about veteran care and hospice for their aging pop. Obama's HC plan is too conservative, IMO, that's why he lost there. Sure, the racism thing is a factor, but not as much as you might think.

The Clintons themselves have enjoyed that support before they went divisive and negative down racial lines. Blacks will continue to support the best candidate regardless of race or gender. No, they don't hide it at all in this sort of situation. It is more comfortable not to hide it when it involves power. If it was NAACP, UNCF, a black majority company, or (in this case) a black politican--noless one running for the highest office in the world, they feel quite at ease in speaking their mind.
As disturbing as it is to me personally, I feel the Democrats took a HUGE risk at the wrong time in this election. Both candidates remaining are marginally electable in the general campaign.

BTW, Anyone denying racism is either lying or in denial. And don't blame blacks for voting for obama. First time in 232 years a real chance for black guy to be a president and you expect them to be color blind? They should be cut slack on that. But some whites are clearly racist especially the ones who say they will vote hillary in general elections but will go with mccain if obama is the nominee. lets go over this one more time: 20 percent of voters admitted that they voted based on race. Now, out of those 20%, 90% voted for Hillary...

So 90% of people who admitted that they voted based on race did not vote for Obama because he was black... and only 10% didn't vote for Hillary because of her race..

You cannot group people together on something as flimsy as race. Black people are not all the same. They are individuals and tend to react to different situations in different ways. Take identical twins for example. Twins can appear the same, but grow into two very different people. They make different decisions, and have different opinions. So do Blacks.
I hope you understand my message. Just like you may have different opinions and ideas than say your friends and or family who look like you.

i never said all black people are the same, i said people tend to stick to there own kind. high schools are a great example. you go to the cafeteria you see tables with just black people or just white people. its not that these people hate each other, they would just more or less rather be with somebody of the same ethnicity. i wouldnt call that flat out racist, just humanity's clan oriented nature. anthropology 101.

I understand. However, because we all are essentially human, it doesn't make much sense to distance ourselves simply because of color, when we live in the same environment. This has been ingrained into our psyche. Passed down throughout history. This will continue and future generations will be effected unless people address these issues directly and soon. Everyone's afraid, and it's sad. This behavior is so subtle that most people aren't aware when they are participants. Just like your example.

MOST Black Americans VOTED for Bill Clinton verses Jesse Jacksons (Black candidate)back in the 90's.

I am not racist. i grew up surrounded by people of all kinds of ethnic groups and i made friends based on common interests we shared. i am black and if a black person was running that i thought sucked i would not vote for them. Period! A persons pigment count is irrelevant in the face of important decisions. what's next eye color? What other trivialities will we conjure up to create controversy where there should be non.

Like gjohnson just said, Barack Obama is winning astounding support blacks because he is the best black candidate. Stack all of the Black politicians against Barack Obama, and see if we can come up with a better candidate...I am waiting...No answer...Thought so! Barack Obama is not the average black politician which is why EVERYONE, not just blacks, vote for him. People switched parties just to vote for him. That is astounding.

Did I ever say it was right? I made two points: first, According to the voters themselves, Obama is losing more votes based on his race than the two other candidates(and still winning). Second, ANY vote based on race rather than policy is just sad and desperate.

Had Hillary denounced and rejected those poor Whites, in Ohio, for voting based on RACE, she would have never been able to win Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Kentucky. This is her BASE...and will ultimately be her DOWNFALL.
