hey man i got a problem i have vf2 2.1, vf2, vf2a, vf2b, vf2o but still it gives me the same error

it says, mpr-17571.36 is missing or something. you guys know how to overcome it?

@Verd1m5 The version on Steam is the MegaDrive (Genesis) version, which unfortunately is completely in 2D. There was a proper PC version though.

The problem I have with Model 2 emulation like this is that it looks fake, its not the real thing at all. Its GPU accelleration all over, and lacking certain effects too.

Thats why MAME is so awesome, when CPU's are good enough to run this perfect in MAME, it will be as perfect as emulation can get.

Because it was ported from the saturn, which had it removed. Sadly, the Direct 3d patch didn't allow you to use 3-d backgrounds.

@lucisac My only gripe with the Model 2 Emulator is the fact it's not compatible with Virtua Fighter 1and Die Hard Arcade, but on a plus side it works with my 3in1 PC Joy Box controller adapter that lets me use any Sega Saturn controller like my Saturn Arcade Stick (great for Virtua Fighter 2 and DOA 1) and the latest version of the Model 2 Emulator works with my PC Light Gun so I can play The House of the Dead without using a mouse to shoot and it works on HDTV from the PC input port

I have the same problem :S. I have the following files: vf2.zip, vf2o.zip, vf2a.zip and vf2b.zip... but none of them can be loaded. Anyone know how to fix this?

Make the largest file of them all named vf2.zip and try loading the original edition, then rename the others trial and error whilst matching the romset names in the load roms listing.

yes I've seen it. but I have a problem with virtua fighter 2 now as it seems it doesn't want to read the rom. says some files are missing. I have version 2.1 rom (the leaked one).

Check the romset names in the load list, it can be tricky to get them right.

Use the ROM from the latest M.A.M.E set which is currently at version 0.129u3. That worked for me.

Also you will need a file called Model1.zip, once you have it put it where you keep the rest of your Model 2 ROMs.

I put a core 2 duo 2.4ghz chip in my pc and now all the games run at full speed, i just got a average video card, it's a new one but it only cost 130 usd, the chip was 120 usd, you don't need a 3000 dollar pc to play it at full speed.

It's a awsome emulator, after mame i think that is the greatest emulator.

In the 90s when i went to the arcade there was about 50 people in there now when i go there is about 5, a lot are closing down in my town, sega and namco and them got to do what they did in the 90s, if you pay to play a game you want it to be superior to what you play at home for free.

I was like wow when i 1st seen daytona and sega rally and sega rally 2 and daytona 2, these console based arcade games just don't have the same magic, they don't do nothing for me because they're nothing special, they just look like xbox 360 console games in a cabinet, model 2 looked 10 times more powerful than saturn, the textures and resolution and framerate looked years ahead, saturn ports of model 2 games were considerably watered down.

when VF2 came out i was 13 years old. I remember how amazed i were. There is no home console able to amaze as Sega did at during the first half of ninetines.

In those times they made inverstment about techology and innovation. Today is a remake of past´s sucess. SEGA caved it´s own grave killing dreamcast. And died when decided to programing as a third party.

We were a public who bought Sega Saturn and Dreamcast because the exclusivite of its coin-ops. The rest games may not even exist.
