R.I.P Stewart, thank you from me, and i am sure many fans alike, for the many memories you gave us through your music and lyrics. May god be looking after you where you are now
Great live performance which is what we miss today in modern artists. Music is an audio art form that inspires us to embrace whatever emotional journey the song takes you. So sad that music video is now more important than the music itself. I never understood the song video killed the radio star until I was old enough to appreciate music in all it's glory.
@TheDelianLeague Excellent post and 100% true. The state of music today depresses me. Just so glad that I got to see Big Country numerous times here in the states. Apart from the accent and chants, the crowd reaction was always just as enthusiastic. :-) Their live shows were incredibly exciting and emotional.
Mark Brzezicki is and will always be one of the tastiest players ever. I always loved his Hi-Hat, splash & China cymbal work...man I have ripped his licks off so much!
Almost best music ever has done (I think), I have seen them Provinssirock -live 1986 ? in Seinäjoki... (only video), but there was something "Scottish-pure - original- new-wave", nice to hear them... nice music..
Saw these guys on this tour at Sheffield City Hall (after the gig was postponed twice!) well worth waiting for though.Never sat down the whole gig. Call me slow but hadnt realised Stuart had taken his own life till just recently.RIP big man x
Wow what a great sound they had.I remember being a 16yr. old kid picking up this album (1984) listening to the whole thing and wondering why are they not getting the recognition in the U.S. I know they deserved. This music stills rocks to this day!
They're really taking this tune at a good clip, wouldn't you say? I'm glad these guys rose to the top (as the cream always does). They were one of the finest bands to come out of the UK, and their music made this sad, tough old world a little easier to bear. Thank you Bruce, Mark, Tony, and of course, Stuart. May your beautiful, troubled soul finally find peace.
He and the band performed the best gig I've seen at a tight venue in cambridge, the music rocked, the crowd moved from the moment the band came on until they played tracks of my tears as a closer when I could only stand and listen.
Rather than ask that question, you should thank him for what he gave us all.

One of the great bands. They still stand out from the rest. Stuart is an angel now performing for a divine audience. Our loss is heavens gain.
