I feel Wanted has more of a Japanese anime fighting influence. The thing about bullets is key, American style is shooting as much as possible, Japanese is doing more with less
i think that wanted was just more philosophical than comedic, or action-related. on purpose, it shows this stereo-typical hollywood action film, with a 'mission' 'following the steps of your father' all that crap that has been going on in the film industry that has practically delved into society's mind set! until the last 2 or 3 minutes of the film, the only plot going on is absurdity. And the last lines (the part that I loved) 'this is me taking back control from sloan, from the fraternity,
Great review of a good movie. I went in expecting Wanted to be a terrible action flick and was pleasantly surprised by the humor and over the top action.
I can't believe you guys liked this piece. I don't know if I've ever felt more disconnected from a movie than I was during these mind-numbing action scenes. Oh well, to each his own.

the old man says he was involved in the original batman tv show wich he also defends saying it's better than TDK so it isn't necessary good experience. michel bay also has experience,he did a couple of schools but his movie's aren't that great.i've seen a couple of movies in my time so please don't judge me.these reviews are funny but that's all.
lorenzo co-created and wrote for the original batman tv series, which is a camp classic...and please dont compare him to michael bay...so youve seen movies...ive watched brain surgery..doesnt mean i know how to do it
The movie sucked big time! The Geezers must be getting paid-off. It's amazing how unable to feel we have become that we can watch horrific violence and it does not bother us at all. If a person can feel the sublime in all then awatching a movie like this is impossible because it would be terribly jolting. Give me a CAUSE with attendant violence like Braveheart and that's alright! Amazing that old people have become so hardened by our culture that they so easily watch this. We are like Robots!
The storyline for the main character is essentially the same (nerd stuck in a dead end cubicle job that becomes someone powerful that will save the world). Jolie's character has much the same questioning and faith as Trinity. In both films the team of heroes is lead by a wise and cryptical black man. The special effects are similar (over the top gun fights in slow mo. And both movies ask the audience to question their purpose in life.
The only real similarity is that Both Keenu and James work in an office in the beginning, and turn into virtuoso fighters. Other than that, I don't see any connection. I am not sure if Keenu hated his job. As for the Trinity and Fox connection, Jolie's character takes a different character arc, particularly at the end. Ditto for Fishbourne and Freeman connection.
btw, the Matrix hit on reality vs. perception themes, not really on purpose of life questions.
These folks give a whole new glow to the notion of being 80.Bless you and long may you flourish. Sharp, alert and so knowledeable A joy. A real joy. You beat all the print folk hollow!
thank you, for this great film reveiw! and yes i do believe the end is the best part and wraps up the movie nicely, and people who judge the other parts don't know what they're talking about because thats what the narrator criticizes at the end and deems it all bs, so he decides to take the initiative to do something with his life, and you must look for deeper meaning so that you can enjoy this film
IMHO, Wanted is perhaps one of the BEST action films within a decade... it's got everything that makes a movie entertaining... comedy, and kill bill mixed with the matrix type action, it could not lose.
they forgot to mention that it is very, very loosely based on the comic...which is about a group of assasin villians who kill superheroes...that was totally cut from the movie, as were the majority of the wacky characters
When I disagree with the R.G. duo, I can usually cite generational differences (I'm twenty-five), but when I agree, I agree wholeheartedly. I clicked on this one thinking it would be the former, and as it turns out, I think they're spot on with Wanted. And for the record, Pretty Poison came out in 1968. Great flick and performance by Anthony Perkins.
i really enjoyed Wanted too! you guys are great! congratulations on your honors lorenzo and keep the great work you two! i really enjoy your video's. :)
The comic book and the movie has nearly nothing in common, aside from the character names. It doesn't even matter if you didn't read the comic book or not.
That kind of crap bugs me. If you're going to make a movie based off a comic book, make it like a comic book. That would be lik me covering a song and writing new lyrics.
sometimes things on the page do not work on the screen/ directors often make subtle or drastic changes to a script/ book/ comic/ you name it... strictly based on what works or looks great CINEMATICLY - for better, or worse sometimes.

It was basically Night Watch but with a bit of a story. A couple good gunfights, Jolie's rear end. Not much more than that.

the Wanted film was horrible. the gun play was epicly boring and was no where near as good as the comic.

So according to you guys: Wanted: great, The Dark Knight: rubbish. Angelina Jolie: really great actress, Christian Bale: naff.
And according to you Michael Clayton is better than There Will Be Blood. I mean really!
