  • she has such a beautiful voice <3

  • I wonder how mozart would react, voices like hers was not back in his century, all there was back then was Opera, this is true potential in a voice. He would think angels are using his masterpiece.

  • @roboJ2011 You are so wrong...listen to Opera and get back to me.

  • Okay. Let's get some things straight. Mozart was amazing, but he is dead now. Would you rather have his works hidden from the world? Or, would you rather people experience them? Another thing: I would rather Amy Lee be the one to use the music rather than someone like Kesha or Justin Bieber. At least Amy Lee has talent. If you don't like it, there is a little red button at the top right of your screen. It has an 'x' on it. Click it and this will go away before you make yourself look like a fool.

  • The lyrics for the song LACRYMOSA were written without giving it a title. Years later, the song received its name & finished when Kurt Cobain's friends the Melvin's recorded the song Lacrimosa released on the Stag album in 1996. Kurt Cobain worked the Def Leppard tour in 1983 when Joe Elliott discovered me at the age of 15. The lead singer uses my name (Amy Lee) as her stagename. This is why there are 2 Lithiums & EV covered Nirvana's Heart Shaped Box.

  • @Boddahism nigguh not you again get a life and stop making up some wack fantasies of yours >_>

  • @AL3KZTV "The only sad thing about a great night in the theater is its EVANCESCENCE. When it's over, it's over. You can remember the performance forever, of course. But you can't re-create that VIRGIN SENSATION - that almost numbing exhilaration - of witnessing something NEW and different and exciting in the theater FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME." Oct 1, 1983 review of A Chorus Line by Frank Rich of The New York Times - Inspiration for band name Evanescence & to write Like A Virgin for Madonna by me

  • @Boddahism HONESTLY you make no sense what poit are you trying to get across here?

  • @AL3KZTV The post above is review of A Chorus Line from Oct 1, 1983 by Frank Rich of The New York Times. It was this article which was the inspiration for naming the band EVANESCENCE, inspiration for me to write the song LIKE A VIRGIN for Madonna and also NEW SENSATION for INXS (which I ran out of room above to add). Further in the review it mentions the choreographer Michael Bennett, where Michael Hutchence decided to name a friend to play his 1st public girlfriend Michelle Bennett.

  • I love this band, and I love the music of Mozart. This is an amazing allusion to Mozart's requiem mass, and it took a lot of talent on Evanescence's part to marry the old peice and a modern song. This is an excellent song in my opinion, one of Evanescence's best!

  • If mozart were alive right now a tear would come to his eye at the beauty of this masterpiece.

  • She is amazing :)

  • When I first heard this song I have to say that i thought that it would be a horrid bastardization, but I can appreciate that Mozart is reaching the youth of this century. While I still much prefer the origian, it is still nice to see the immortalization of mozart.

  • @Irishborne I agree, Evanescence really nailed it on this one!

  • Wow, so much arguments in the comments thread.... anywho! *listens to the song* ^_^

  • I'm sure that if Mozart heard this, he'd be happy that a band is using it centuries later. I'd be pretty happy, too, if I was Mozart.

  • @bassist01202325323 I can actually see Mozart keeping the time of this song like the conductor he was. How funny! Haha.

  • @HeartLikeButterflies I actually conduct to it when I listen to it. I'm a strange kid. :3

  • @bassist01202325323 so do i :)

  • @bassist01202325323 I'm just happy... :)

  • @bassist01202325323 i think he will regret that lol

  • @bassist01202325323

    hahaohwow.jpg

Mozart would laugh himself dead again if he heard this 3 and a half minute fart.

  • @BechTalent _)_

  • @MikeleKayrara that's not what public domain means, I dunno the song by Mozart, but I think if he wrote some of this that's great, I happen to be a huge fan of Mozart. Amy took something old and added more on top of it. She didn't take what Mozart wrote and called it hers or covered up his name with hers, his original still exists she just did another song with his original, she gave it a refreshing twist that'll cause his song to be more well known, cuz of this, I'm gonna look up his version.

  • People need to shut They're Pie Holes! So what if she made a song from a classical piece from a dude who died centuries ago! It still sounds good and she actually added her own lyrics to it! You gotta at least give her credit for that.

So, Hopefully now you all can shut your face about her stealing a song and crap. :)

  • Why can't we all just be glad that a band in modern times is actually drawing any inspiration at all on a real musician? Why does it have to be some big debate, when it really doesn't matter since this song is already out and complaining about it won't change that?

  • um for everyone who didn't know. Mozart only wrote 30 seconds of "Lacrimosa" the rest was written after he died.

  • @MikeleKayrara You're stupid and here's why: If you knew anything about copyright laws at all, you'd know public domain status happens a certain time after the original artist's death or a certain time after creation or publication of the object. In the US, things become public domain either 70 years after the original artist's death, 95 years after publication, or 120 years after creation (whichever is shorter). Since half of the Beatles are still alive, your stupid "Hear cums da son" won't fly

  • @cherrychoc55 "fucking mozart" as in having sex with mozart.

  • lol i luv this song it sounds lyk she's tormanting a total jerk lol DIE JERK WHO BROKE AMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @cherrychoc55 No, no, haha what they ment was a play on words "does she think shes fucking motzart?" In the context used it was to emphasise the insult and it was merely turned on the attacker by saying the fucking part was sexual and that amy couldnt be because hes dead, aergo necraphiliac.

  • Untill a minute ago I didn't even know this was inspired by a song from Mozart ;p

  • Evanescence rocks!!, you dont like it?, you obviously dont know what real music is, period.

  • For all of those saying that they "stole" Mozart's piece, let me just say that as a classical musician (both orchestral and choral), I think it's AWESOME how bands like this will take pieces of musical genius and keep its integrity while making it more "available" and relatable to today. This is a great piece!

  • i am singing some on Evanescence songs for like an hour...my throat hurts a lil but i just can't stop :))

  • oh how i love this so much! <3!!! kep doin ur thing evanescence!

  • duh, its called sampling/covering.....people are stupid.

  • Mozart was not the first person to write a "Lacrymosa." Lacrymosa is a piece that is a traditional part of a Catholic mass of honoring the death of a person. The traditional lyrics, translated to english are "A day of tears is that dread day, on which shall rise from ashen dust to judgement true each guilty man. Then spare this soul, O God, we pray, O loving Saviour, Jesus Lord, grant Thou to them Thy rest. Amen."

  • @JeffGrolemund so what your saying is that i should .......THIS SONG PLAY AT MY FUNEREAL THANKS FOR THE MEMO THATS GOING IN MY WILL

  • I feel like i'm seeing Mozart dancing with Amy Lee

  • @gabiagrande strange, so do i...

  • @gabiagrande they should make a music video with that! haha! that would be epic.

  • What is the original Mozart song??

  • @JacobTheIndoAmerican '' lacrimosa ''

  • @JacobTheIndoAmerican type in "lacrimosa mozart." in the search bar

  • I bet it's in Mozart's ipod!

  • Amy Lee's classically trained. Personally I sang Mozart's Requiem, and grew very attached to the Lacrimosa. I don't blame her for one second for using it. It's a gorgeous piece, have some respect for its beauty that she's building on.

  • how is taking from music centuries old and bringing a modern feel to it wrong? It's not like she does it every song she creates. Taking an old piece, and altering it for your own creativity with ample alterations, if not done excessively is insightful -- not plagiarism. Morons. It's not like she didn't write the lyrics.

  • bella

    rilassante

    wow

  • @kunoichikamake No, she doesn't think she's fucking Mozart.

    After all, I doubt she's a necrophiliac.

  • @JacobInvading That's a funny joke! the last time I heard this joke I nearly fell off my dinosaur >.<

  • @kunoichikamake No she loves Mozart

“ I saw Amadeus when I was nine years old and fell in love with Mozart. The part of Mozart's Requiem called "Lacyrmosa" [sic] is my favorite piece of music ever. I always wished we could cover it, but with programming and guitars and make it cool. It's our moment to try all the things I wanted to and couldn't, so I started messing with it in Protools. Terry wrote some riffs and turned it into this awesome metal epic. ”

Get over it, you whiny bitch. If you don't like it, then stop giving this song more views and publicity.

  • @kunoichikamake

I fail to see the irony. But it seems you've one the bitching and moaning here, not me ;-)

  • @codeythesilent That is because you are dickhead,so you can keep on crying to her sweet tragic love shit.

  • @kunoichikamake

And like I said, you're the one crying. You're the one bitching. You're the idiot here that just needs to get a life and listen to his justine bieber cd's and leave us in peace ;-)

  • @codeythesilent Hahaha!Oh my god you actually think that I listen to people like you?No darling,I leave you and Bieber to have your lesbian relationship it is obvious that you two are made for each other, both pathetic pussies.

  • @kunoichikamake

Lesbian relationship? Sorry, I have no interest in the vag.

  • @kunoichikamake who ever said they were a metal band? and dont hate on her just cuz she wanted to bring back a classic song for other generations to hear

  • @RazumeHyuga

    1.She says.

    2.I don't hate her,I despise her.

3.What is the point of all these replies?

  • @kunoichikamake what's the point of your comment, to show how cynical and whiny you are? you sound like a metal version of a hipster. if you hold all artists to your superior standards, you must not have much to listen to. i suggest you get over it and enjoy music for the sake of enjoying music, because you'll find that no one cares.

  • @tmstenz Do you even understand the words which you have used in you reply or just tried to sound smart and gain more likes?

How can you call me hipster when you don't even know what I listen to or what am I like?

To me,she is profaner and you cannot change it as much as I cannot change your opinion so stop bothering me.

I wrote my opinion and there is nothing you can do about it.

And who the fuck are you to suggest me what should I listen to and how should I feel about it?

    Get a life.

  • @kunoichikamake "profaner"? First off, you spelled that wrong so you are the idiot, next off, did you even listen to all of her songs? Of course not, you judge by only one song, go listen to "My Immortal" by this amazing band and by Amy Lee

  • @kunoichikamake

I hear you sister...god bless america and the black people AMEN!!!

  • @MsShadowRevenger how on earth does that comment relate to his?

  • samocryla!

  • Ah, beauty in it's finest. <3

  • that totally sucks balls . .. . . .. . . . . . .orchestra could to it 23490809 0913475 times better

  • O my werd...it just started thundering outside as I listened to this! Creepy!

  • @idodoremi that's beautiful, thunder and music ^^

  • MOZART'S IPOD!

  • 1:57? wtf?

  • i luv the vid, but be real whts with the ugly ass picture on 1:57

  • WHAT THE HELL WITH THE PICTURE IN 1:57??

  • AL GENI DE MOZART LE HUBIESE GUSTADO ÉSTA INTERPRETACIÓN DE SU OBRA MAESTRA, A PESAR DE TODO EL MAESTRO ERA UN GENIO DE LA ÉPOCA Y SIEMPRE LO SERÁ, Y ESTABA ALGO CHIFLADO, COMO TODOS LOS GENIOS!!!!

  • HOW CAN PEOPLE DISLIKE THIS THIS IS PURE AWESOMNESS!!!!! :D

  • Ah sorry hun, Evenescence does a good cover, and it sounds good. But Mozart's original had a flow, a clear melody. I don't think transposing it into the rock genre was a good idea...although, it doesn't SOUND half bad...maybe I'm just being anal xD

  • I was about to like this when I saw an ugly face at 1:58

  • I love both... Mozart's lacrimosa is a Masterpiece... and Evanescence's is it this way in the Rock genre...

  • This song Very wonderful it has mystery

  • I love how people are saying Evanescence "stole" Mozart's song. Duh, he did it originally, but it's public domain. Nobody says that Looney Tunes "stole" classical pieces, so I really don't see the problemo here.

  • @ReesesPieces625 LoL.. This is how music has evolved to date. Mozart was not innocent of using other artists styles and musical ideas or pieces to build on. Chopin did it, Beethoven, The Beatles... etc. If ANY contemparary artist, from punk to pop, says they dont listen to classics or other peoples music to get ideas, they are most likely lying.

  • no one can really improve on mozart

  • @Vudo865 no but they sure as hell can make another beautiful masterpiece out of a Mozart song.

  • no puede haber arruinada semejante obra de arte, que gorda asquerosa...

  • I`m a big fan of evanescence but i think something like Lacrymosa that is made from a god in the literal way should stay the way it was meant to be...Lacrymosa is something no other living human will ever achievie

  • hundred and twenty five people are stupid \õ

  • love the song...just simply awesome...:D

  • shiit this is a good song, but i still prefert the Mozart version better, srry. :(

  • ...Or Amy Lees remake, just quit all the arguing over it and get on with your lives.

  • ENOUGH!!!!! Quit arguing over simple matters! If you want to continue arguing your points do it in private please. Quit filling the comments with arguing. Some think she can sing others don't. ITS A FRIKEN OPINION!!!! Sure Mozart did this song. Yes it was excellent. And yes Amy Lee of Evanescence redid it. And in MY OPINION it also was amazing. You may or may not agree with me but as I put in caps, ITS AN OPINION. Quit arguing opinion and just listen to the song, whether its Mozart's original...

  • Hint: all music is about personal interpretation.

Mozart and Justin Beiber. They are both artists. Whether you like one or the other, or neither.

  • stop fricken trashing her i think it is her way of apreciating her fav classical musican you guys got a problem do it on jbs videos not a real musican like her

  • why are there pictures of random objects and people who arent Amy or band members?

  • 122 people saw 'lacrymosa' and thought it was tear gas....

  • Comment removed

  • Who says this is a trashed version? If you ask me when GOOD artists interpet old songs and remake them like this,.. its paying tribute to them...hows it bad? If a rapper or pop singer tried this song they would fail just by thinking about doing it :P

  • @AmvMakerStudios Waka Flocka Flame doing it plus don't argue about what you don't even know, there's LOT of rappers who sampled old classical song so shut the fuck up and learn before talking shit.

  • @JasonJeezyJeff no comment sry i dont wanna argue over the internet

  • this is even so much more intense than the original

  • this is wonderfu !when my insomnia kicks in all i have to do is listen to this haunted whisper and all that im living for and i'll be asleep in no time ^^ amy your songs have saved me many times and i thank you =3

  • wasn't this used in the tomb raider underworld teaser??? xD

  • @emzandjono The Original Mozart piece was...

  • @HerrStutterNuts ohhh right lol :)

  • I LOVE MOZART!

  • if MOZART was a live he would be sooooo proud am i right or not !!!?

  • @lvlvle No. I think it's a good thing he died and never knew his magical work would be trashed this way...

  • I don't like Ev. but it's nice interpretation... :)

  • amy ! you're my bst friend

  • I love it! ;)

  • MOZARTESCENCE? YES PLEASE!!!! <3

  • Well, Mozart was always ahead of his time :-P

  • This band will never cease to amaze me. Cant wait till their new album.

  • This song is good but Mozart remixed it too much. His version lacks the same energy.

  • @andefghi I hope you're joking...

  • @andefghi I lol'd

  • @andefghi It's just different energy :D

  • elle a une de ces voix !

  • i love this song i don't like mozart music and other stuff but this is soo nice

  • oh my god!!! I love it so much!!! I listen to it every day and I just can not get enough of it!!! I love evanescence, and I think that their idea about Mozart's lacrimosa is just fantastic!!

Mozart's version of course is better because it's authentic! But evanescence have done an incredible work!! I adore this song...!!!

  • doesnt have the power of an orchestra. And that irritating voice...

  • Evanescence rule, but i prefer Mozart's version :P

  • @mcleagan1 Way to be a grammer nazi sir; its the internet.

  • AMY AWESOME

  • The original is good. This is good. Evanescence is cool and run their own little race. That's what makes them so special. They dared to make a "cover " (or whatever) of a classical piece of music. And the result was more than good!

  • The HELL mozart is better.

  • Mozart > Evanescence.

  • I don't mind Evanescence, but honestly I'm not a fan of this song. Each to their own I suppose (:

  • i loved this song when i was in job corps,it was like chaos spiraling in the hell i was walking though.

  • i really really really miss evanescence. they were my favorite band since i was like 5, i am 12 now, and ive been listening to them ever since. the only reason i actually found them is when me and my mom were at f.y.e and she was like pick anything u want and i picked evanescence fallen and she was like oh no but i cried and cried for it and she finally got it for me and then i wouldnt stop listening to it i asked every two secs of the day to put it on. I LOVE U EVANESCENCE!!!!!!!

  • i love amy lee!! did you guys know that she got married? shes now Mrs.Amy Lee-Hartzler

  • @DarkAngelRayven That would be Amy Lynn Lee-Hartzler, but yes, ofc we knew! ;D

  • I think it's a great interpretation of a classical piece. I think Mozart would thumbs this up.

  • @TheMinionMan He would not. She cannot sing. Do not try to deny it. Evanescence should stay away from MOZART. It's not about modern interpretations. It's about voice and instrumental training. And don't say that emotions make a good song. Professional musicians put emotions in every single note. And they do it properly.

  • @9891Cassandra lol, why even bother to comment....

  • @AresXoO Why not? This song is probably the biggest profanation in the music history. It was just funny to read that someone believes that Evanescence did a really good job. I have nothing against bands inspired by classical music. (In fact, I love them.) But they should be professional. It is Mozart! One of the greatest classical period composers. Evanescence, please, learn how to sing, play and adapt music before you use his masterpieces.

  • @9891Cassandra One, you don't know how Mozart would react to this interpretation. Two, that's your (feeble) opinion that Amy Lee can't sing. I honestly think she's an excellent singer and artist. Evanescene made Ihis song in honor of Mozart as he was a big influence in her work. I'd honestly like to see you do any better. Please, actually learn how to troll.

  • @creedaether You're wrong. I live in a quite artistic world. I can only say that something is wrong with her singing. But my friend is a professional opera singer (in training) and she could name all Amy's mistakes. It's not about her voice. It's about her lack of proper vocal technique. I cannot sing and I don't do it. I wish everyone would remember about that simple rule. And Mozart was a man who accepted only perfection. (By the way, Mozart's fan are allowed to comment as well)

  • @9891Cassandra im sorry man but i really feel the need to say something. Contemporary singing is a different technique to opera, and as someone thats studied both (though i major in opera) im pretty confident in my ability to judge. and i can say shes not that bad. Also, the way youre reacting is giving us classical people a bad image. I think we should appreciate that someone in such a vastly different genre is still a fan of someone like mozart, enough to do a whole adaptation. (:

  • @bempi Of course it is, e.g. jazz or musical singers are also amazing=) I love Classical Crossover but I can't stand when the gap between an original and "inspired by" piece of music is too wide. Are you a heavy-metal musician? Do you want to play "Ode To Joy" on electric guitar? - extremely interesting idea! But please, be a wonderful guitarist, not only "not that bad guitarist".

  • @9891Cassandra Actually i used to play keys in a metal band >_> (since gave up cause of my hearing). The way i see it, any publicity classical can get is good, seeing as its slowly dying out. Besides, at least they used strings and choir and not only guitars or whatever. <3 in terms of trying to cross metal and classical, i think they did
