Just purchased the carvin m22sd bridge pickup, waiting for it to come in the mail. What can you say about the harmonics on that pickup (She screams nicely right?) haha I am using a fender fat strat FR poplar body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard. I currently have an SD JB in it and wanted a change!
@Achman831 these carvin m22sd pickups are good but i would try other also .My m22sd came in my carvin but i seem always to fall back in love with them when i hear and try other brands of pickups .The harmonic and poke and power is so sweet .Good luck and really listen to all the detail they bring out of you guitars body wood.
@Achman831 Oh shit i didnt realize your post in from 1 year ago.So how is the carvin m22sd pickup.....i sent sum messages bout it (prolly too late now)
@mapleaxslinger125 Thanks for responding, I fell in love with the pickup! It works amazing in the fender guitar that I have. Perfect sound for my style and for the wood.
The Mesa runs 6L6 tubes like a Fender or Mesa Dual Rectifier. A Marshall poweramp runs EL34 power tubes like a...Marshall! 6L6's are cleaner and wider range, but EL34's have that Crunch and Growl that only they can deliver. It's a tone preference. Thanx.
The Dunlop ZW-45 Zakk Wylde wah. I used to have a Vox 847 back in the day and really liked it. But I saw the Guitar World Demo video that Paul did and heard the throaty grolw and the Harmonics that I wanted so I was sold. The sweep is a little fast for my tastes, but I love the tone...for my needs.
nice, i have a jimi hendrix one, but i think it sucks cause when im playing a solo and i use that wah pedal but distortion doesnt work anymore, like it takes like 50 percent of my distortion when i turn on the pedal
Different animal. The Sugarcone is very stiff and tight right out of the box. The cleans and focused mids are the finest! Think EVM12L.
The GM is more like Celestion V30 with the sparkly Jensen top end. You can hear the difference in the clips...pretty much sums it up. Since I love my Celestion G12S-50 in my baby Marshall cab, the GM is a welcomed compliment. I like both drivers, but I'm keeping the GM. Rock On!!
Nice tones. Really good stuff man. Your a great player but with a few more lessons you just might get it! How come you don't use your pinky finger when soloing?
Just kidding. When I do long extentions I use it, otherwise it feels akward and I'm doing mostly bends, which don't transfer well with the digit that cries 'wee, wee, wee all the way home'
Did you also notice my index finger on my picking hand lifting up occasionally too?
At about 1:48 I go for a lighter touch and my index finger leaves the pick. This is another quirky thing about my improper technique, I hold the pick between my thumb and middle finger. I learned that one from a guy in Jr. High named Mike Bruce...I can't break it now.
Yeah, like TodayAt420 said, Glenn Drover utilizes unorthodox fingering in his leads. As long as the end result sounds good, it doesn't really matter. Check out United Abominations for many good examples.
I do that too. It looks a little funny, no doubt, but it's all good.
That is the glass ceiling I gotta tell you guy's. Fingering may not matter now but using conventional fingerings will speed up progress later in your development. You may learn to get past it but it will create an impediment. Ask any real pro instructor.
Those carvin m22sd pickups sound good in your basswood ibanez, and really nice resonace also.Try it in a maple body like mine .

I heard the guy that makes those cabs is a thief. I found a bunch of forums saying how he ripped them off.

love the sounds and everything
but im a bit curious about the RG220, how is it when it comes to doing dive bombs?

I put a Guitar Fetish Speedloader trem bridge on this guitar. The G string goes out occasionally, but it remains in tune for the most part.

@Marshallsrule so the guitar fetish bridge is good quality?

You like the GM better than the sugar cone?

Did I need to use my pinky? Django didn't!
