Do you want a super charger or a turbo? the SC conversion is pretty easy (swap to L67 heads, 5th gen SC, upper intake, tune) and will cost you around $1500 to do if you do it your self. if you are gonna do the top swap i would save up another grand or so and get the items ported and polished prior to install
or you can get a set turbo from ZZP... it will run you around 5k inter-cooled but will produce higher HP results... this install is super easy and will only take about 6 hours of your time
Also, I noticed someone said that It topped out @ 135. I'm really sorry, I didnt' drag that on to top the car out. For the record though, the fastest I ever took it to was 163mph. I've only gone 4mph faster than that in my GTO.
BTW, I think it's awesome that people still comment on a car I sold four years ago. Kinda weird, kinda cool. I still wish I could put money into my GTO like I could my GTP

Someones being prejudice :( I can assure you that GP is a great racer when it comes to handling sharp bends, hills etc. I currently own my second GP GT, live in a very hilly and graded area with lots of winds.
In what... the all motor RX-7, they where quick for there day but a stock mid/high 16 second quarter mile time is no where close to a stock 14.8 quarter mile time... Even after a bunch of engine mods you would be really lucky to crack 14's
My suggestion, gain some general knowledge or get a faster car so you post can be accurate regardless of where you post
to rape the stock GTP (win by 2 or more cars in the 1/4th mile) you would have to be running low 14's / high 13's which is 2.5 -3.0 seconds off the stock 1/4th mile time... it is very possible but not supported by whats in your profile
None the less the stock GTP is heavier and faster then the stock RX-7... even with your mods your competing against a stock car and proboly not raping it
adding inter-cooler, cam, smaller pulley & tune can get the GTP to 12's... which means you lose again =(

My former friend had one of these I used to drive all the time. All a GTP Pace Car for 98, is the badges inside and the graphics on the side. Thats it, as far as differances to the normal version, right? like with all GM Pace cars.

my friend has a 2000 gtp daytona 500. its 1 of 2000, it looks just like that but its silver and black. same hood, but the inside is a little different. he has the white gauges and black and silver seats. that car sounds beautiful. i think it would look nicer if it was that color. the blue looks very shiny.
TOG Headers, 3" downpipe, no cat, and a 3" catback, with dynomax ultra flow mufflers, and Ractive tips. I hate the sound of the 3800, they sound like crap, they just go fast.

Thanks, you gotta keep in mind, I couldn't put the pedal all the way to the floor till the very top of 1st gear, rolling into it was the only way not to ice skate down the road.

2004 was the only year that the cars had the 5.7l LS1 instead of the 6.0l LS2. The strut problem was due to the manufacturer making a oil vendor change in the 2006's, and it caused problems.

The car was normally run with a 3.2" Pulley, so they weren't yet maxed out, I had no problems with that. 42.5's were on the way, but then I got my GTO, and lost interest in continuing the modding of the GTP
Thats interesting as it already did 0-60 in 5.2 stock. When modded, it dipped to 4.5 secs. Most definately not little kid shit, it's the same basis as the Grand National's motors. Considering there are 9 second grand prixs just like my old car out there, your comment lacks validity. If it makes you happy, the car was eventually sold, though I still have my Pontiac GTO. The GTO ran a 13.0@108 bone stock, and got it's ass handed to it by my GTP as the GTP was.

In what... the all motor RX-7, they where quick for there day but a stock mid/high 16 second quarter mile time is no where close to a stock 14.8 quarter mile time... Even after a bunch of engine mods you would be really lucky to crack 14's
My suggestion, gain some general knowledge or get a faster car so you post can be accurate regardless of where you post

to rape the stock GTP (win by 2 or more cars in the 1/4th mile) you would have to be running low 14's / high 13's which is 2.5 -3.0 seconds off the stock 1/4th mile time... it is very possible but not supported by whats in your profile
None the less the stock GTP is heavier and faster then the stock RX-7... even with your mods your competing against a stock car and proboly not raping it
adding inter-cooler, cam, smaller pulley & tune can get the GTP to 12's... which means you lose again =(

Yeah, GM always made some really great V6 engines, but they never backed them up with any kind of serious performance hardware.

My former friend had one of these I used to drive all the time. All a GTP Pace Car for 98, is the badges inside and the graphics on the side. Thats it, as far as differances to the normal version, right? like with all GM Pace cars.

Awesome vid... i have a red 97 GTP. got hit by a deer and my right front fenders smashed like yours was. Blew the intake gasket as well and have been drivin with coolant in my crank for a few days. Gonna have to rebuild the whole damn engine i suspect. Love the rims you had at the end BTW. I see too many GPs with huge rims that look absurd...yours were perfect

my friend has a 2000 gtp daytona 500. its 1 of 2000, it looks just like that but its silver and black. same hood, but the inside is a little different. he has the white gauges and black and silver seats. that car sounds beautiful. i think it would look nicer if it was that color. the blue looks very shiny.

TOG Headers, 3" downpipe, no cat, and a 3" catback, with dynomax ultra flow mufflers, and Ractive tips. I hate the sound of the 3800, they sound like crap, they just go fast.

Thanks, you gotta keep in mind, I couldn't put the pedal all the way to the floor till the very top of 1st gear, rolling into it was the only way not to ice skate down the road.

i live in florida, and no i don't have a clean driving record. I've totalled the GTP i had back when i wrote that comment, i drive a 2000 GTP now (daytona 500 replica), in addition to a couple of speeding tickets.
(yes, i loved the car enough to get a second one...)

2004 was the only year that the cars had the 5.7l LS1 instead of the 6.0l LS2. The strut problem was due to the manufacturer making a oil vendor change in the 2006's, and it caused problems.

The car was normally run with a 3.2" Pulley, so they weren't yet maxed out, I had no problems with that. 42.5's were on the way, but then I got my GTO, and lost interest in continuing the modding of the GTP

Thats interesting as it already did 0-60 in 5.2 stock. When modded, it dipped to 4.5 secs. Most definately not little kid shit, it's the same basis as the Grand National's motors. Considering there are 9 second grand prixs just like my old car out there, your comment lacks validity. If it makes you happy, the car was eventually sold, though I still have my Pontiac GTO. The GTO ran a 13.0@108 bone stock, and got it's ass handed to it by my GTP as the GTP was.
