@taffarelvl pretty interesting camera shots...I wonder how the camera works in -40C? It would be cool(no pun intended)to film running in one of our snow storms. Last week I was hauling a set of Rockies & as I was going across a bridge I noticed a new repair on the blacktop, then the "repair" turned its head towards me. That black spot in the middle of the road that I thought was a repair turned out to be a black bear. Wish I had a camera for that "YouTube" moment.

not all truckers do this crap, I for one would not want to kill someone just to pass but unfortunately there are alot of bad apples, hopefully the CSA2010 kicks in soon, I have had my commercial license for 4 years now and no tickets or safety violations but all I can get is crappy jobs with over the road companies that pay me $100 a day to sleep in that truck! I didnt like the csa2010 when it came out but im safe and want a real job with real hours! weed out these idiots!

Recently an O/O had a head with a person driving a car that entered the oncoming lane, forcing the traffic off the road & on to the shoulder or in the ditch. The O/O tried to come to a stop but the 4 wheeler kept on going and smashed head on into the O/O's truck causing a fire which burned the O/O's truck to the ground. Your truck was revving at 1700 rpm or better, you can hear it in the video, I didn't hear your engine brake and you were less than a foot from the double solid, so I'm guessing you were having a little pissing match with this other driver and you didn't back off at all. Most of the time I don't run with an engine brake on because when I started driving, the trucks I drove didn't have them.The noise you hear is from the am radio not the truck. @wes3tomcat Thanks for the good word. The passing driver and his partner had switched at the Esso @ Upsula and pulled out behind me. The passing driver had at least 3 opportunities to pass between there and the Arctic Divide rest area(not Continental as I post elsewhere) He did not respond to calls on the CB. At one point, I thought that he was going to pass but chose to tailgate even though there was no traffic coming and could have passed.

Try this concept...passing driver is in a hurry/doesn't give a damn, knows the passing lane is a couple of kms ahead and still passes in a no passing zone even with a vehicle in the oncoming. Same thing I have been saying for years and all you had to do was read previous posts to be informed.

@blanknot just a little fyi for you, trucking is one of the most heavily regulated industries and with electronic logbooks coming in to effect soon and GPS systems in most units it only get more regulated. EACH trailer that you see going down the road contributes between over 25 THOUSAND dollars/year in taxes to the economy. So if we take the trucks off the road, you don't eat. The economy would suffer and people would be out of work because there are no trucks delivering. Try again.

I'm usually one to give a lot of leeway to truck drivers but it sure looked to me like the center line was solid twin stripes (i.e, no passing zone) for that whole stretch. That driver has no business driving the big trucks.

@notanova haha I feel your pain. The worst one happened a few years ago, they were speeding and blew a tire and crashed across the median and slid around 1/8 of a mile along the shoulder of the road. The truck caught air off the median strip... This happened on a strech of I-17 near where I lived with my Ex-wife and her family(while I was in between jobs and after I got evicted from my apartment lolz)
I agree with the one driver.You had the time to pull out a camera and video this .Why not be a helpful person and slow down and help a brothers driver . But in the Dick world its not cool to get good video .You would have been partially at fault because you saw it happening from the start and it was cooler to pick up your phone and not slowdown and let him by .You are also a big problem in our industry.

The driver who is passing over has a problem to identify the road conditions. The yellow line is solid on both sides of the road; the road is up hill and snow was pile up on the road side making difficult to run over the shoulder to let it pass over. In my opinion, the driver should not drive an eighteen-wheeler.

@ShotgunBabe69, the company that the truck is listed to is a numbered company. The company that the truck is leased to doesn't acknowledge that it uses leased operators. When I searched for the numbered company I was unsuccessful in finding any info at that time. I have since not bothered to spend any more effort on this outfit instead I posted the video so that if the companies are involved in a major accident and I am made aware of it, I can supply the link to the persons affected.

Your truck was revving at 1700 rpm or better, you can hear it in the video, I didn't hear your engine brake and you were less than a foot from the double solid, so I'm guessing you were having a little pissing match with this other driver and you didn't back off at all. Other drivers fault fully, just saying, you ain't innocent.

Most of the time I don't run with an engine brake on because when I started driving, the trucks I drove didn't have them.The noise you hear is from the am radio not the truck. @wes3tomcat Thanks for the good word. The passing driver and his partner had switched at the Esso @ Upsula and pulled out behind me. The passing driver had at least 3 opportunities to pass between there and the Arctic Divide rest area(not Continental as I post elsewhere) He did not respond to calls on the CB. At one point, I thought that he was going to pass but chose to tailgate even though there was no traffic coming and could have passed.

Try this concept...passing driver is in a hurry/doesn't give a damn, knows the passing lane is a couple of kms ahead and still passes in a no passing zone even with a vehicle in the oncoming. @blanknot just a little fyi for you, trucking is one of the most heavily regulated industries and with electronic logbooks coming in to effect soon and GPS systems in most units it only get more regulated. EACH trailer that you see going down the road contributes between over 25 THOUSAND dollars/year in taxes to the economy. So if we take the trucks off the road, you don't eat. The economy would suffer and people would be out of work because there are no trucks delivering. Try again.

The truck caught air off the median strip... This happened on a strech of I-17 near where I lived with my Ex-wife and her family(while I was in between jobs and after I got evicted from my apartment lolz)

The driver who is passing over has a problem to identify the road conditions. The yellow line is solid on both sides of the road; the road is up hill and snow was pile up on the road side making difficult to run over the shoulder to let it pass over. In my opinion, the driver should not drive an eighteen-wheeler.

@ShotgunBabe69, the company that the truck is listed to is a numbered company. The company that the truck is leased to doesn't acknowledge that it uses leased operators. When I searched for the numbered company I was unsuccessful in finding any info at that time. I have since not bothered to spend any more effort on this outfit instead I posted the video so that if the companies are involved in a major accident and I am made aware of it, I can supply the link to the persons affected.
